We waited (don't ask why) 20 minutes at the window for coffees and cake to consume at the outside table. It's a nice spot but please get organised. It wasn't a weekend or school holidays.....

Lovely little place with plenty of outdoor seating if the weather is kind. Stopped off for a coffee and cake on the way back to Deal after walking to Walmer Castle. Nice coffee and cakes, food other people were eating also looked nice. Only thing for me was the smell of grease and cooking inside when we ordered, wouldn't like to have had to sit inside if the weather was bad, but as its su h a small place the smell of cooking is unavoidable. But as the weather was nice it wasn't a problem.

We often travel to Walmer and Deal from Whitstable because we just love it there. We always make a point of visiting Sea Cafe . We went there yesterday and had a bacon sandwich and I have to say that it was the best bacon sandwich we have ever had. Lovely soft thick bread and loads of really lean bacon. Parking is easy too. Worth coming to Walmer just to visit Sea Cafe.

The family and I grabbed some takeaway food yesterday from this friendly little business whilst out on a stroll along the front and was blown away by the quality and price! After checking out the menu we ordered a prawn sandwich, Jerk burger and a hot dog and was given a number to wait for it to be collected. The food was outstanding.. the jerk burger was just fantastic and flavoursome, the sausage in the hot dog was super tasty and my son demolished it in seconds with a great big smile on his face! The sandwich was packed full of juicy prawns on fluffy tiger bread and again was great quality and value. Service was great too and at this price I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this business to anyone on the look out for quality food!! We’ll definitely be back whenever in the area!!

Stopped by for a coffee and to pick up a takeaway lunch for our journey home on the last day of a holiday in Deal. My husband fancied a breakfast roll to go with his coffee. Everything was delicious and prepared fresh. Hubby said the breakfast roll was the best he'd ever had - it was certainly packed with bacon, sausage and egg. Lunch for him was a massive doorstep sandwich packed with 'proper' (i.e. not processed rubber) ham and cheese, while I was delighted to be able to order a salad, and was offered a choice of what I wanted in it, so chose tuna. The portion was generous and I loved the sprinkling of toasted seeds. Service was very friendly. Will definitely be back to try the other things on the menu next time we're in the area.

I ordered a breakfast roll and it came out in a takeaway box. Inside the box my roll sat in a pool of grease. The sausage burger, egg and bacon were all covered in burnt black bits which means the grill they were using hasn't been cleaned in a very long time. They use Vegware recyclable cups but they're all thrown into a rubbish bin on the front. Wasteful. If they spent as much time cleaning the grills as they do the tables outside I'd give it a much higher rating.

Took my fiance and young son out for the day to DealA lovely seaside town and lots of independent shops. My boy was becoming listless and needed to run about a little, so we parked by the green and looked for a drink. The cafe was open, and people were sat outside, so we went to get drinks. All looked lovely and so we ordered, water for our son, Americano for my fiance and tea for me.The waitress was rude and couldn't seem to be bothered by our custom, and this was upsetting as the prices were a little steel for what we wanted, but then, once we were back outside drinking them, my fiance said here was awful, and there was hardly any coffee in it, and my tea wasn't great either. So we went over the road to the convenience shop to get drinks there.Very disappointing.

Probably the dirtiest cafes I’ve ever stepped foot into. Dust and dirt to be found everywhere! A really strange lingering smell in the air which I couldn’t even discribe. Sticky tables which aren’t wiped down between customers. Saw (who I was told is the owner) step in from outside and start cooking without even washing his hands and not wearing a hair net. The kitchen looked disgusting so we didn’t order any food. We decided on settling for some coffees but after seeing the state of the coffee machine, we decided to just have some fruit tea. Surely fruit tea couldn’t be that bad..... the mugs we received our tea in were covered in lipstick marks and chips. So asked for them to be put into take away cups. On the counter there are two pots one for clean spoons and one for dirty spoons both were full of dirty spoons. It’s such a shame because if ran by people who actually put some love, attention and effort into the place it could be something special, such a lovely location for a cafe.

Mediocre coffee with little taste, that was too hot and tasted mostly of milk. This is really disappointing when coffee good coffee is the norm and exceptional coffee is relatively easy to find elsewhere. The bacon sandwich was OK but the bread was from a packet and probably bought for economy rather than taste, as was the bacon. This place could be a gold mine, where it is located, but needs more flair and attention to detail. Not for foodies or people who like their coffee to be at the correct temperature to bring out the best flavours of coffee. It's a science that needs care.

We stopped by to have a drink and a snack whilst on a coastal walk.It is a small cafe which is in a prime location and appears to be very popular with locals. They do a basic menu which includes all day breakfasts. The prices are average for this kind of establishment although drinks were not overpriced. There are wooden tables outside and a small inside. We opted for outside as it was a very hot day and the tables would have benefited from parasols. When the food but brought out the cutlery was put straight down on the table which could have hygiene issues as they were not even wrapped in a serviette. I had an omelette with chips and beans however the person serving apologised for the state of the dried out beans stating that it was the last of them. They looked as if they had been reheated numerous times and should not really have been served. It would have been nice to have been told this earlier and given a different option. The sauces were cheap and not a main brand. Given the location this cafe could be so much better without too much effort. For overall value for money I would opt to go to JD W's if on a budget.

It was a bit difficult to even tell if it was open, but once inside it offered a great choice of food, friendly faces, newspapers, and a confortable sit down. Tea at £1.20 can hardly be argued with, and we were both tempted by the cakes. It's the sort of place you'd feel comfortable being on your own, and several people were there alone. Sure, it needs some lifting touches (such as the toilet), but it's ideal for where it is, and an antidote to Costa.

Food when eventually presented was of poor quality, not well presented and barely warm. Toilets. ...... words fail me.

We were walking back to Deal from Kingsdown on a hot Monday afternoon, and whilst other nearby places were closed, this odd little shack on the green was open. We had a Tea and a can of Coke - we had thought about cake but the entrance area and counter were so dirty looking I didn't feel like risking it. To be fair the seating area further back looked okay, but the owners definitely need to give front end a good clean and probably a lick of paint. The back area was quirky with mismatched furniture and odds and ends and a large mural.Staff were friendly enough and the place seemed popular with dog walkers. My wife's tea was fine, the Coke was sadly lukewarm despite coming from the fridge - either the fridge wasn't working properly or they don't rotate the stock and the cans at the front had only just gone in.With a bit of work this place could be great, but it needs a little work.

Popped in here for a cooked breakfast - ordered a mega breakfast (2 of everything) which was ok but at £6.00 a bit pricey. However on entering the café, which resembles a makeshift scout hut, there was a prostrate female on a sofa clearly very much the worse for wear ( this was about 10:30am) - when she managed to fall of the sofa she stumbled across the café completely out of it. Bizzare !Oh and whilst I adore the honesty in putting 'Basics' sauce on the table - at £6.00 a time I expect at least HP. Get some empty HP bottles and put the basics sauce in them. Oh not all the cutlery is clean so choose carefully!Might go back but would probably go to a legit café at a lower cost.

A family day out at Deal with a snack at Sea Cafe.Open toasted bacon sandwich. Cheese and tomato on toast and the wonderful scrambled eggs on toast. This was the best scrambled eggs for years soft and fluffy and moist with the right amount of seasoning.A lot of the London hotels I have stopped in over the past years could do well to come and sample this and take note of how it should be cooked. Cooked in a pan on a oven not in a microwave.

We finally parked up and went over to this shabby little café, had a warm welcome from the couple that run it, followed by a lovely mug of tea, a tasty, well presented lunch ar excellent prices, served quickly. café is untidy but nice in a lazy afternoon way, boasts some very professional art work. Loved it

We live in Deal and visited this establishment and was disgusted by the grease that was apparent on the walls, the dirty entrance and counter. One could not even tell which were the clean spoons and which were the dirty ones. Access to the toilet was right beside the serving counter. Have health and safety actually visited and approved this establishment? I will never go there again and certainly will deter anyone who wishes to go.l

Have used this cafe a few times but never again after today! Was busy due to it being Easter Monday but staff just could not cope! Served hot drinks but drank way before food turned up, had to ask if order forgotten as one table had been served who had ordered after us. Was rudely told that they were busy and he had a large family table to cook for. Food eventually arrived, my partner's breakfast was ok but my omelette was cold, not cooked properly and served with salad which had been drowned in dressing, could not eat any of it. Also had to return to counter to ask for forks as none were out in cutlery tray, waitress went off to hastily wash some and was offered a couple of forks dried on a very grubby looking tea towel which immediately put me off, would definitely question the hygiene standards in this place!

This little cafe was convereted from redundant public loos which always predudices me against it a bit. That said it is nice in summer to sit outside and watch the world go by. inside it is rather like an old fashioned family dining room with mismatched furniture. We have never tried a meal here but the rock cakes are delicious

2 slices white sliced, yellow margerine, 2 dreadful quality sausages between the white slices. Slapped on a plate - not even cut in half as a sandwich!! . we had to go and ask for a knife to cut it into a sandwich! Was the cook on holiday judging from other reviews, must've been. Given the bandstand bakery and hope & land nearby not sure we'd ever go back.

The breakfast salad is excellent and a firm favourite especially eaten al fresco. The only downside is the lack of tables/chairs and we would like stronger coffee.

We popped in for breakfast before heading home, breakfast cooked to perfection (thank you Peter for my lovely poached eggs on toast and fresh mint tea which you picked for me and also for telling me your story on how you 'landed' in Walmer. Friendly and welcoming staff, Cafe is very quirky which makes it all the more interesting ... anytime we are back in the area will definely be coming in to see you. The Cafe is well worth a visit .... you wont be dissapointed :-)

....this is one of the best places to have a cuppa in Deal! To sit outside and watch dogwalkers being dragged along by their pets or pedestrians trying to avoid cyclists can be very entertaining! On a foody note Pete does a great breakfast with one of the best "fried slices" in the area.....

Came across this great little cafe whilst walking into Deal. Wasn't expecting to walk into such a refreshing place. Singing chef, happy waitress, friendly customers, beautiful crafts and of course great food. We had a full English which was awesome & was recommended the homemade rock cakes. They didn't disappoint!! Next time we visit Deal we'll definitely be stopping here.

We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the banter. Peter and his team provided awesome breakfast, great service and a friendly smile. The locals love it and chat which provides a good ambiance with interesting artifacts. We sat outside on the green overlooking the sea and beach. A great cup of tea and toast to round off a hearty breakfast. No nonsense, good value and lovely experience on my favorite list.
