The Lamp Room in Dover

I forgot to write a review last week for the lamp room so I'm doing it today , firstly the food was amazing and I can't wait to go back and try more , value for money it was ridiculously cheap I thought personally . food was 10/10 but the service was 100/10 , the manger Mia couldn't do enough for us both times we went and all the other girls are lovely and efficient , great atmosphere and can't wait to go back , good job keep it up ladies and chefs

Nice walk around the park with my dog before settling down for a “Lite Lunch” at the Lamp Room. Being a warm day, thought would try the Salmon “Poke Bowl” salad, not normally a salad chap but was pleasantly surprised, perfect chunks of cured Salmon, fresh leaves, avocado perfectly ripened and well presented and veeeery tasty 🤤. May have been converted.

We had an amazing Father’s Day Sunday lunch here. The food was so tasty and great sized portions. The service was smiley and friendly and the atmosphere was good 😊. I had the lamb for mains with the best yorkshire puddings and lemon posset for pudding which was delicious 😋.

Father’s Day set meal, had the ribeye and perfect. Service great, not to fast which what we like. Yorkshire puddings were absolutely banging.. best in Deal so far.

This place is a gem. A comfortable setting both in the bar area and the restaurant, the food was amazing and the staff were brilliant. Nothing was too much trouble and they were so friendly. This place is must to try.

We arrived as a party of 15 with a mixture of ages, 7 - 72 and from start to finish the entire experience was perfect. Beautiful balloon display upon arrival and greeted by several fabulous members of staff, Mia Liv and Misha an extra special mention to them as they went above and beyond. We all had the Sunday roast and it was full of flavour and so wholesome. We all left very happy and the fancy the accommodated for gluten free and vegan was a massive bonus. The service and standard of the staff was just unbelievable. The ambiance was set was to perfection. Thank you for a perfect Sunday afternoon we will be returning! Thank you again guys x

Booked for Sunday lunch ( Mothers day) it was absolutely delicious. What a success, lovely layout. I will definitely be back again soon. Myself and My family all enjoyed. Had a Mother’s Day roast dinner here yesterday with family and friends. It’s an amazing venue with lovely food and excellent service. The young manager Mia couldn’t do enough for us and always had a smile on her face. Will be back very soon

We had a lovely Mother’s Day meal here yesterday. Staff were very accommodating as soon as we arrived. They couldn’t do anymore for us all. The food was fantastic and with myself having Coeliac it was made very clear about my gluten free options. I had the pork belly which was delicious. Thank you for a memorable stay: We will come again.

Went here for a Mother’s Day meal today and found the service was perfect, not rushed, great food and a beautiful setting in the large seating area which could be used for other events.

Large and interestingly decorated, and spotlessly clean, we went into the Lamp Room for breakfast before visiting the Mining Museum. There was plenty of space. The waiting staff are all young, friendly, welcoming and keen to please. Not busy when we went, so plenty of tables. There’s seating outside too, which was well used by people with dogs. The full breakfast was excellent, and at £11 was very good value for what was served - just about anything you can think of! All hot and tasty. The coffee (extra) was very good too. Our bill was £32, for two breakfasts and three coffees (yes, I fancied a second). What I wish we’d seen was the leaflet at the Mining Museum Reception Desk, offering breakfast, juice and hot drinks for two for £20!! Parking at the centre is free for Blue Badge holders, and also free if you spend more than £17 (I think that was the figure) in the Lamp Room. The waitress drew our attention to that. If we lived more locally I could see the Lamp Room becoming a regular haunt.

Have visited The Lamp Room on a number of occasions during 2023 and now 2024. Every time we have not been disappointed either with the food and the staff are very friendly and helpful. We generally go on a Monday and have brunch - cooked Breakfast never disappoints and the Avocado on Toast has been enjoyed too. We bring family and friends with us when we visit. Logic of probably not going during school holiday times as it would be busy with understandably families visiting as there is a superb play ground area next to the Lamp Room but will defo be back when time allows and at the right time. Cool that there is free parking during the week - makes a difference! Cheers and Thank you to the hard working staff.

We visit Betteshanger country park several times every week and always visit the Lamp room. Mia and her team do an excellent job. We recently had an issue over a booking and had cause to discuss this Mia who handled it with sympathy and great professionalism, a real star who understands customer service and its value, well done Mia!

We regularly visit The Lamp Room. Food is always in point, varied menu and great coffee. The team there are always warm and friendly which really makes a difference especially when you have twins to accommodate. A real hidden gem and our go to place for breakfast or lunch. Worth a visit especially when you can have a walk or kids can play in the park opposite.

we did a breakfast with friends deal for only just £20, which includes a juice a hot drink and any breakfast from the menu. which me and my friend absolutely adored, it was so nice and for the price as well we both thought it was amazing. the staff where so lovely and polite, and ever so welcoming as well.

One of the best roast dinners we have ever had. Everything had amazing flavour to it and was cooked to perfection. The staff were all really friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was really relaxing and the design style was something to look at.It was spotless and the staff were very thorough with cleaning. Definitely will be coming back for another go. Compliments to the Chef litrally!!!

Went to the Lamp Room for coffee and cake after a walk. We have done so before and I’ve always had mixed feelings about our visits but do like to support local businesses. There was absolutely no cake on offer - not really the end of the world but very strange as this has always been available usually. We sat outside as we had dogs with us and were told our drinks - 3 coffees and 3 hot chocolates - would be brought out to us. The coffees came out after about 10 minutes but no hot chocolates. They arrived another 5 minutes later. There were only 2 tables occupied inside and a lot of staff so I’m not sure why the wait was so long. Staff were not overly friendly and paying almost £30 for 6 drinks paired with the extortionate £5 per car parking and I think unfortunately this will be our last visit for a while. Such a shame as it is beautiful inside and set up really well outside.
