Wow, what a fab little gem, up here to do the marathon the next morning and googled best Italian restaurants, so glad we found it, absolutely some of the best Italian food we have ever had, service was great, the waiter was very friendly and helpful and suggested specials to have , the rest of the staff were lovely too, very lively ambience, thank you, a must visit if you’re in the area!
Excellent Italian restaurant. My son who has a lot of Italian friends and knows a lot about Italian cuisine ( how dishes should be cooked, ingredients etc) was very impressed and he is incredibly fussy about Italian cuisine.
I’m rating it 5 because when it’s good, it’s amazing. But I think the quality can be quite inconsistent. It’s not always worth the price tag. I would recommend not going to for the 3 meat combo as the roast option.
Genuinely shocked by how delicious the food was. I walk past this place all the time and always notice how busy it is. I finally tried it the other day and it exceeded all expectations - it was so good and I’d 100% go again! Nice options for vegans!!
One of THE best restaurants in Brighton. I never quite got the appeal of Ramen until this place. Their vegan Tan tan is to die for, and this is coming from a devout meat eater. Their takoyaki is consistently good as well, and I recommend the Umeshu soda.
My only slight nitpick is that I’m used to pickled ginger being much more pickled/sweet but that might be a personal preference thing.
Cannot wait for my next visit!

Absolutely miserable service from the barman yesterday. We felt thoroughly unwelcome. It’s a shame, because the pub has a nice feel to it, and the menu looks good.
Genuinely the best place to eat in Brighton. I always enjoy the service here. They’re really pick and really kind too! Definitely recommend the duck Singapore laksa :)
They got their vegan cheese sorted! It actually melts and is nicely gooey. We had an amazing time here and the staff was really kind and accommodative. Highly recommend their Vegana pizza. We sat in their backyard garden so the pics are a bit too dark.
Tried the Chick'n Gyros at What the Pitta, and it's so delicious and filled with flavor 😋🤤. I love the option to remove and add stuff, but I wish there was an option to add pickles, especially cucumber pickles 🥒. These pitas definitely need pickles! The garlic sauce is a must-try, it's so good 💯😭🤤. Also, I think the chunks could be smaller, like shawarma pieces, for a better experience. I also love that they play old music sometimes, which is the best 🎶👌🏻.
Small and cosy, this is a great cafe with a real feel of a local place, catering to the community.
They offer simple, fresh food with good-sized portions. My full breakfast was plentiful.
They are dog friendly, too. Dexter received a plate of biscuits and a bowl of fresh water just for him .
A truly local cafe, where everybody is welcome.
