The best ramen I’ve ever had! I love ramen but I have never tried something so exceptional, every element of the ramen was perfection. They made us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. I can’t recommend this place enough. I am so excited to go back!!! I would recommend the spicy tonkotsu!!!

I had the spicy tonkotsu ramen and it was genuinely the best ramen I have ever had. It was absolutely fantastic I would not change one thing, I am very excited to go back. I would highly recommend going here for ramen as the staff was also so lovely and helpful!

This is by far the most delicious Ramen you will ever eat. The broths are delicious, full of wonderful flavours and the Gyozas are beyond fresh! The staff are friendly, kind and knowledgeable. You may have to Que at peak times by this is more than worth the wait. For those with smaller appetites this restaurant also offers smaller bowls of Ramen! Very generous portions.

When a place can make a tasty veggie Gyoza, then the rest of the meal will be an absolute no brainer. I got myself a delicious Taiwan Mazemen and I'm a very happy human.

Probably I should have chosen Tonkotsu ramen. Chicken Miso ramen was quite normal.

As a big ramen fan, I can honestly say Goemon Ramen Bar served the best ramen I have ever had, hands down. The broth was so tasty and full of flavour, and it made for such a warm and hearty meal, perfect for a day out in Brighton. The restaurant itself is tucked away in the Brighton Lanes, giving it a cosy, hidden gem kind of feel. The staff were really kind and welcoming, and the service was seriously fast – our food came out within minutes. If you are in Brighton and love ramen, or even if you just want a comforting meal, I cannot recommend this place enough.

There are often queues outside of this place and I can see why! This place serves fantastic ramen and other Japanese foods. The service is quick and polite and the food is authentic. As with ramen places in Japan, things are done swiftly, you'll likely be eating within 5 minutes. I would definitely come back and I would recommend you go as well!

The staff is really nice, and the ramen is probably the most authentic you will find in Brighton. But, quite expensive compared to Japan of course.

One of THE best restaurants in Brighton. I never quite got the appeal of Ramen until this place. Their vegan Tan tan is to die for, and this is coming from a devout meat eater. Their takoyaki is consistently good as well, and I recommend the Umeshu soda. My only slight nitpick is that I’m used to pickled ginger being much more pickled/sweet but that might be a personal preference thing. Cannot wait for my next visit!

The place is small so you probably will have to queue and of you have a large party. Make sure that everyone is there as they won't give you a table until everyone is there. Service is really good. Food is extraordinary , at least most of it. 5 of us. The only one that did not think is was extraordinary, but only really good was the vegan one with soy milk. But everything else was fantastic. Definitely visit the place is worth the wait and prices are very reasonable.

This place is incredible. Every ramen I have tasted has such a rich, hearty broth. There's always a queue outside for a reason-- it's literally perfect. Always great, friendly service. Coming here once a month became a part of my self-care ritual, it's a "treat yo self" day. I wouldn't want to treat myself anywhere else!

Busy even on a quiet day .. which encouraged us to wait for 45seconds for the table! Well worth the wait. Absolutely packed full of flavour, cooked fresh and the portions were I'd say a bit big for us but you could skip breakfast and have a decent lunch to last all day! Lovely service too

Easily the best ramen I’ve ever had, I got the spicy Tonkotsu. Definitely try the gyoza as well. Our service was also amazing everyone was extremely kind and willing to explain menu items. It was pretty cold in the restaurant but the ramen warmed us up.

I was disappointed with these ramens. We decided to come here as it was rated 4.7 but the only bits that we liked were the noodles and the broths. We ordered a veggie miso ramen and a chicken ramen - the egg was very cold, and there was barely chicken and tofu. Would not come back

Hands down the best ramen in Brighton. Been going here for years and they remain consistent always. Whatever they do with their eggs, it’s sorcery. Service is always welcoming and friendly. A weekly go-to for me

Spotless - 5⭐️all the way If someone asks me where to eat in Brighton, Goemon is always the first place I recommend. Because the food there is absolutely unforgettable… because it’s better than many of the ramen spots in Japan that people line up for, because the customer service is so amazing that makes it feel so at home, because the price is absolutely reasonable…just wonderful !!

On a cold winter evening in Brighton my belly needed a bowl of ramen and Goemon did not disappoint. The noodles had the right amount of texture and the broth was obviously made with love. As a bonus, the staff are super welcoming and quite pleasant.

If you want the best authentic ramen in the southeast of England, walk past this place… and go somewhere else! Because if you’re naive enough to even consider another option, you don’t deserve Goemon.

I had the thick noodle chicken ramen it came with 3 dry slices of chicken and noodles with half an egg and some bamboo . Very disappointing and for the price it was very small even tho I ordered large size . The appetisers we had inc Kimchi and fried octopus they were also very small for price and they where nothing special it was just basic over priced food . Very very dissapointed and I'm still very hungry 😕.

No es un lugar enormemente grande (aunque resultó ser en demasiado pisos, así que no demasiado pequeño) y llegué 20 minutos más o menos antes de abrir para que pudiéramos estar seguros de ser servidos antes de la próxima actividad de un fin de semana familiar ocupado en Brighton. We were seated in the front room (there is one in the back that I didn't see). We ordered a bao pork that was delicious, a tsukemen with thick wheat noodles that was also very tasty and a spicy tonkotsu that has thin noodles. I asked them to substitute the minced pork for chashu. I would have liked the broth to have a little more salt, but it was still tasty. The place is small, with an open kitchen at the front. (Nov 2024) Edit: Today we went back and I tried the miso ramen, the chicken was tender and the broth tasted great. This time we sat on the 1⁰ floor and I noticed that the toilets are not accessible to people with reduced mobility because of the narrow and steep stairs.

Fantastic food, easily the best ramen I've had so far in the UK. It can get very busy in the weekend, expect long queues outside on a sunny Saturday. Worth the wait though.

In Brighton for the day and searched out what the internet told me was the best local ramen. Had the Tokyo Tonkotsu and I was not disappointed. The broth was rich and moreish. Lovely atmosphere with great Japanese city pop tunes played and great service.

Goemon Ramen Bar is a cozy spot in Brighton. The ramen was warm and filling, but not quite the best I've had. The broth was flavorful, but it could have been richer. The noodles were cooked well, and the toppings were fresh. The takoyaki was nice—crispy outside and soft inside, with a savory taste that I enjoyed. Overall, it's a decent place for a casual meal with friendly service.

We went as a group of three on a Sunday and (as expected) it was pretty busy. After a short wait the welcoming staff directed us to our table. We ordered Tokyo Tonkotsu ramen, Chicken Shoyu ramen and crispy Karaage Chicken. They were all SOO good and came very quickly!! 😋I would definitely recommend you go to this place, the atmosphere was so cozy and the food was AMAZING 😍

Great ramen, best you can find in Brighton. Have been going for years and never had an issue with quality or service.

The staff's attitude was unprofessional and unfriendly, which made us feel uncomfortable and unwelcome. They have a complete party policy, but they didn’t inform us properly—just told us to wait outside, leaving us to assume there were no available seats. After we explained that our friend wouldn’t be joining, the staff rudely repeated several times, 'We won’t serve either to you or to your friend if they come.' What kind of attitude is that? The ramen was okay, but the poor service overshadowed the experience.

My partner and I had the extreme displeasure of stepping into this "restaurant" and what followed was a dining experience so horrendous that it borders on a crime. The ramen they serve me was an utter disgrace—flavourless, poorly made, and frankly an insult to food. I’ve worked in ramen kitchens before, so I know how it’s supposed to taste, and this was nothing short of culinary incompetence. When I asked, very politely and reasonably, for a replacement dish, the chef—whose arrogance was only matched by their lack of skill—flat-out refused and insisted that I pay for another dish. The audacity. I’ve never seen such a blatant disregard for basic customer service or culinary standards. This place doesn’t deserve your money, your time, or even a second thought. It’s easily the worst restaurant I’ve ever been to, and I wouldn’t wish this experience on my worst enemy. 1*

Perhaps my favourite casual restaurant. Cheap and very cheerful, fast and friendly service, authentic food, diverse menu, and some of the best tonkotsu I have had that wasn't actually in Japan. I will say though, if you want to have a long dinner/lunch, this isn't the place. they sort of want you out quickly after you've eaten so they can fill your table (which as far as I understand is the custom in japan) Tokyo tonkotsu is amazing, and the octopus/chicken karaage and takoyaki are both far above average.

One of the best overall dining experiences I’ve ever had. The staff were so so friendly and the ramen was just spot on! There was a queue when we got there but we didn’t have to wait long however there was a big queue when we left so definitely worth getting there early if you don’t want to wait long! We got there at 6 on a Tuesday so imagine it being busy on weekend! Highly recommend!

From the previous reviews, I was expecting the food to be fantastic. The crispy chicken Kara-Age and Octopus Kara-Age were really nice as appetisers, but the ramen was such a let down. We were given two VERY thin slices of pork belly (double the thickness of a parma ham slice) each for close to £13 each. There wasn’t much more to the soup to justify such a tiny serving of meat for that price. The thin wheat noodles tasted like undercooked instant noodles & they’re more bloating than egg or rice noodles. The broth was rich but lacking; perhaps more creamy/fatty than flavourful. I couldn’t finish the broth, as I usually would if it’s delicious. The meal cost £45, with two soft drinks, so it’s definitely not cheap. Neither myself or my partner felt satisfied, so we won’t return.

This spot has it all. The food is phenomenal! Good portions and good price. We had the crispy chicken karaage, which was super fresh and crispy, also had we had some deep fried octopus pancake ball things and it was like nothing we have ever had before! Very tasty! The shrimp gyozas were really delicious and fresh. For mains we had a soy sauce based chicken ramen bowl which also had an egg in it along with other stuff. The broth was incredible and the chicken was nice succulent too. Staff were friendly and kind, super smiley. The tables are close together but that's really not a problem because of the nice music and great atmosphere. 10/10 can't wait to come again.

The food is OK, but the service attitude makes people feel uncomfortable. Maybe the needs and feelings of the guests are not important to them. I can't say Yes to their service attitude, the food is fine. We are not walking wallets, we are customers, maybe they do not care about our feeling.

Ramen was delicious. One of the best Japanese food you can get in Brighton. Not expensive and a lot to choose from. Definitely one you have to repeat to try the different dishes they have.

The food was fantastic I do recommend the ramen dishes especially- the broth is very rich. I do believe however that a certain waitress had a rather miserable demeanour and did take from my overall experience. Perhaps she should pursue another career?

I’ve been to Brighton twice but been here 3 times. Their ramen is really good. I’m veggie so there’re only about 3 veggie/vegan ramen options. The food has always been served warm, the noodles are chewy and nicely cooked. The broth itself is so comforting. I couldn’t recommend enough.

I finally tried Goemon and I wish I had gone sooner. Delicious ramen. I popped in for a quick lunch on my break and had some sake with my spicy tonkotsu. Lady who took care of me was kind and attentive. My ramen was accidentally put through as a medium instead of small but they gave it to me on the house. So nourishing. Feels like a warm hug. I would definitely recommend it.
