The best restaurants in Wendover Aylesbury Vale South East

I do like to stop and support roadside eateries when I can. Not necessarily healthy but what the hell, on occasions why not. The small of frying onions activates the taste buds and along with a 'bucket' of black coffee the burgers 'hit the spot!'

An informal friendly appeal, with a village hall atmosphere. Very tasty cakes and good service. All a bit jolly hockey sticks but can’t fault the food and drinks

My wife and I have just had takeaway haddock and chips from Wendover Plaice. The battered haddock, as is usual here, was cooked to order. It survived the 12 minute journey home in excellent condition. We could not have been happier had we gone to Whitby for it. Well done to the frier. Oh, and the service was quick and friendly too.

Delicious take away that even my younger daughter enjoyed her children’s meal. Quick delivery, fantastic experience. Will definitely order again.

There's no denying that there is an excellent choice of cheese, wines and other foods here. I loved it when it also operated as a wine bar. I've been to many like it in mainland Europe and love the concept but haven't found many in the UK so it was quite a rare find. Unfortunately it's now just a wine and cheese shop.

We've visited numerous times over the years and it's never disappointed. Exceptional food and familiar and welcoming service. Often a restaurant can lose its way over the years, but in my opinion, this one just gets better and better. Highly recommend the Asparagus & Brocolli tapas dish. Divine.

We ordered a delivery, spent £45 and have received overcooked cold tasteless food that was spilt in the bag.. I will post the photos on their FB page now due to dismal customer service. Not as advertised, substandard, shocking really.. 😑

I met my friend for lunch for the second time at Lady Grey and yet again we had a great time. The food was lovely ( sandwiches chosen ) and we had drinks of course. On arrival a glass of water was given ( hot day and I’m sure I was bright red)!!!

We came across this little gem when out for a walk in Wendover. Although the outside seating allocation was full due to the lovely weather, we easily found a spot inside. We both ordered the large breakfast, which arrived promptly. For the price, you got a very good portion. The black pudding was very tasty, the hash browns were perfectly crispy, the bacon was meaty with a nice margin of fat for flavour; also, perfectly cooked eggs, well cooked sausages etc. The food was piping hot too. Our only criticism would be the use of semi-skimmed milk. Recent studies show that full-fat dairy products are protective against diabetes, obesity and heart disease. Large numbers of people and cafes are switching back to whole milk. I recommend you use whole milk too for health and flavour reasons, as it makes coffee etc. taste much creamier and you need less of it!

All 7 Wendover pubs took part in a Pub Crawl over the 3 days of the August Bank Holiday. So many people discovered the charm and friendly atmosphere of this little gem in the High Street. Thanks for a great weekend and look forward to visiting again soon.

Amazing food with wonderful service and a beautiful atmosphere. Very accommodating towards allergies and dietary preferences. Staff were lovely and always had a big smile. Would definitely recommend!

Our first time for a drink in this pub. We really loved the old and quaint and local atmosphere. The service was very friendly. A really nice pub on the high street. Recommended.

Absolute gem Wendover. Just finished the Ridgeway walk and came back for dinner and what a dinner. Pleased to see it was dog friendly so could venture out from a pub dinner. Great portions and fantastic flavours. I’ve seen other reviews complain about the service charge added but it was deserved by our waitress. We were more than happy to pay

High quality, freshly made food. Service was great, staff very friendly. Very reasonably priced. Definitely recommend.
