The Firecrest in Aylesbury Vale

Lovely country style pub. Many thanks to our very friendly and helpful server, Helen. It's a shame that HS2 are having an effect on their business with road closures and power supply.

The Firecrest is an absolutely amazing pub had Sunday lunch here with the family and the food was absolutely amazing. The service was flawless and the barman was such a kind young lad.

Excellent service, congrats to Zoe on her first day serving our lunch, food fantastic hot, not rushed finish.

A lovely pub, but the food has been better on other occasions.

food was good went for a family member's birthday 8/10 meat a little bit undercooked Workers had to deal with my family's complaints so sorry about that a good place to eat nice people and good facilities

Just called in very hungry at 7pm on Sunday wondering if they were still serving food. Greeted with a very warm welcome and told unfortunately sold out of Sunday Roasts but had plenty of everything else. A delicious steak pie and fish n chips were brought to our table within minutes. Great tasting food and sensible pricing. Well done, we will be back soon.

We love the Firecrest and the lady who served us is fantastic. My children were a bit restless whilst waiting for their lunch and she helped greatly by handing my youngest a colouring book to keep him occupied. The service is so friendly and efficient. We will definitely be back again!

The food was delicious and our servers were very polite and friendly. However, despite the fact that we had a voucher for 33% off mains, the restaurant was unable to process it because of problems with the app and also could not offer to just deduct the money from our bill as a gesture of good faith. This is a shame as the eatery itself is good. Perhaps such vouchers should not be offered in future if it is so hard to use them.

Fantastic food, brilliant service, and reasonably priced 10/10

Not our first time, but everything 5 star as usual. Of all the pubs we eat at, this one is constantly the best and always very good. Our waitress Helen was great. HS2 is impacting on their trade.

We had a table for 6 people on a Sunday. Menu was great for all. Small and children’s options available. Staff are very friendly and happy to help. Food was very nice, roast was great and good quality burgers too. Prawn and chorizo starter was a favourite. Good selection of desserts too!

The choice on the menu was brilliant, loads to chose from and a variety of dishes. There was about 10 of us and we all had different dishes, we all finished everything even taking some of it home. I had the spicy pizza and it definitely lived up to its name. The serve seemed quite nervous but he was so lovely. The atmosphere was brilliant and the staff were incredibly nice.

Having visited here regularly for the past five and a half months i thought it was time to give credence and show respect to the wonderfully accommodating staff who have always welcomed me to the Firecrest and to whom I feel a special connection with. Kellie, Amanda, Jamie and others really have made my visits worthwhile. On top of that, the food has been exceptional. I appreciate their genuine warmth and friendly attitude. Thank you

Really tasty roast dinner and staff were all very welcoming and accommodating for us and our baby. High chair was ready at a really cosy corner table where we had room to spread out. Perfect Sunday!

Great food, great drinks, great atmosphere and a splendid host!! The most spectacular pub lunch we’ve had in a very long time - very much worth the visit!! All the food was delicious and so flavourful! Amanda was absolutely incredible and was so attentive to us all as such a large party! 100% would recommend everyone coming to this pub and we would definitely come again!

We’ve been here twice now with our pup and both times we’ve come away saying how nice this pub is. The service is fantastic. The staff are incredibly friendly and can’t do more for you. The food has also been some of the best pub food we’ve ever tasted - really excellent home cooked style, and quick! We’ve made a mental note that this will be our go to pub for food now on in the chilterns!

A lovely spot for a family lunch!

Great friendly service but no ale on.You don't even include beer in your ratings. You are basically a restaurant. Won't be visiting again.

We arrived late in the evening having not booked a table. Even though the restaurant had clearly been very busy throughout he day, we were greeted with smiles all round and seated quickly. The food itself was great and was served quickly, and the service from Theo, Kat and Jamie was exceptional.

Mocktails fantastic. Service initially was great but when it came to getting the bill paid it was a little more difficult. We asked for the bill, had the card out ready to pay when it was brought over but then the waiter disappeared. We ended up going up to the bar. Sunday roast was ok, not as good as previous roast we have eaten in the Firecrest though. The broccoli had hardly been cooked. Other half really enjoyed his burger. Puddings fantastic and just the right size. Great outdoor space as well.

We had really great service here when celebrating a birthday recently! Plus they also offer blue light discount - we didn’t know this until after we paid the bill (it isn’t well advertised), but will be returning!

We visited the Firecrest on Friday, early evening, with a group of colleagues. It was rather quiet for a Friday evening, even when we left later on. Saying that I can't understand why it was so quiet, because the pub is lovely, the service is nice and the food is fabulous! The portions were generous and my sea bass was perfectly cooked, with crispy skin. We all chose different dishes and all plates were wiped clean! I am glad we went for dessert too because they were all amazing. The mango and passion fruit Eton mess was mouthwatering, with light cream and full of big chunks of fresh and aromatic mango. The honeycomb bomb, that my colleague had, was the great example of perfectly tempered chocolate. Maybe a bit more refinement on the presentation of the dishes would be a bonus to the lovely flavours. I don't know if we were lucky, being a quiet service, but I will definitely return to the Firecrest.

Went to The Firecrest as part of a very large works party (25+) and we had pre ordered our meals. Lovely warm welcome on arrival, great food and drinks, super service. I'll be back with my family.

The signature burger was ace. Well worth it for that sauce. Chips were excellent and well-seasoned. Onion rings made an excellent mini starter as part of the main. Drinks were pricey. We were with a big party and food was served quickly and it was all hot, which was impressive. Puddings were a bit of a mixed bag. Some ingredients were missing from the puddings - probably due to a big order. Lovely place with excellent service, however.

Food taste, quality and service by the server were good. Presentation was ok as compared to other Vintage Inn pubs. Ambience was ok. The server was very friendly and kind. We even tipped him as he was a young lad in uni and yet very humble and friendly in serving us food. We were celebrating a personal achievement and it was our first time at The Firecrest, Wendover. Their portion size is good. We wanted to pack the leftover pizza slices. However, the lady at the counter denied us straight at first to give a take-away box or any foil container when we requested for it, to pack the left over as we don’t like to waste food. She mentioned they don’t do take-away boxes or containers, although the menu mentions ‘all our pizzas are available to take away’. That was annoying, as we could have paid extra for a box because it wasn’t about money but it was about our ethics around not wasting food. The lady was busy setting up the bar. On insisting the lady, she requested the server to wrap it in a cling film for us. Could have been better handled we feel. Had it not been this, I would have given a 5star. Please treat it as a feedback for better handling customer requests, as we are regulars at other Vintage Inn pubs. Was a bit annoyed though with this one. ****Adding additional comments to my review post response from the Firecrest team below: Thank you for your reply Sue and team. Let me clarify that the food packaging was not refused by the wonderful server who was the Uni student.. although it was refused by woman who seemed like the Shift in-charge and definitely not a Uni student but a experienced employee. Sorry just thought it was important for me to clarify.

Love this place, the layout is really nice inside and outside too. We ordered at the bar and received really excellent table service, the staff were really warm and friendly. Our food was delicious, in fact ....I ordered extras after the meal. Really happy customers and will return....highly recommended to all.

I was a Film Extra or Supporting Artist on filming "The Last Days of John Alan Chau" at The Firecrest. It is a lovely looking pub in a rural setting, a little close to HS2 works, that locals would choose to visit for its seclusion a little way out of town.

This place was very nice and clean, the staff very friendly and quick service. However, the prices were higher than we wanted as we stopped for lunch, which turned out to be a lot of money . Others going there might find it reasonable. The place is nice to eat and have a good lunch. 👍

The most amazing 🤩 mouth watering food. Carlsberg don't do food….Sirloin steak, cherry tomatoes, garlic mushrooms and onions done to perfection better than Miller & Carter.

Visit here every couple of months with my husband & young daughter (& dog occasionally) for food, bar & restaurant, or just drinks in the garden. Never disappoints, great food & drinks, varied selections and the warmest welcome every time to all of us, all staff are so lovely. Beautiful open fires and comfy chairs for the colder months & a large very clean & tidy garden with lovely views and plenty of seating, for the warmer months. Large car park. A real gem.

Haven't been here since 2019 before COVID hit. Wow what a wonderful place , food great, atmosphere great, service you couldn't of asked for, the waiter went out of he way to make it an enjoyable experience. It's nice to come out and eat and noing the staff are fully aware of people having severe Nut allergy's and gluten allergies. I would recommend this place for any body who has any of this allergies to come and enjoy having a meal out and not having to worry about anything your having to eat. Keep up all the good work 100%. I wish all food places were like the Fire Crest.
