Flew in from Canada for a stay here. SUCH a cute spot with great food and really kind staff! Room is also very cute and has a comfy bed. Highly recommend!

Staff were friendly and approachable, staff worked very hard under pressure of serving meals for mother's day.

Liv & Liz were excellent servers, and the food was fabulous. All the gravy one could ask for!

Lovely breakfast, had to come back as our last visit was superb. Can definitely recommend for breakfast! Staff are very welcoming.

We came in on Friday and it was very busy but the staff did very well in keeping a good service and were very attentive. The manager on that shift (Owen) was brilliant he was working behind the bar but was able to come out and still make time to have a conversation with us which we really appreciated. We had a great experience and will definitely be back!

We had a few bar snacks and drinks outside on a warm afternoon. Oliver was very busy behind the bar but served us with a friendly and warm welcome.

The scallops and king prawns was lovely. The chef was accommodating as always and gave the dog her usual sausages

Had lunch here with my husband for his birthday. Friday lunchtime. Lovely decor, olde worlde looking. Service to seat us was very quick but taking our drink order a little slow, we ordered our main when ordering drinks. Drinks took a while to arrive but it was quite busy in the restaurant. Food was hot, nicely presented and really tasty.. Both had pudding which again was lovely. We will definitely return as even with a slower service it was an excellent restaurant and also meant we didn't feel rushed. Just would change the length of time it took to get drinks, other that that everything was great.

Our group of 14 had a very enjoyable lunch. The service was excellent, the food delicious. James, the manager, was very helpful from booking onwards. I highly recommend the pub

I had a lovely time and my dinner and my friends dinners were very delicious and looked lovely on the plate. The ambience was very calming and welcoming, the staff were friendly, efficient and made us feel welcome. Definitely will visit again

We came here for a drink after a long walk with our kids and dog. Lovely atmosphere, such friendly staff, especially Owen who made friends with our crazy dog and chatted to our kids. Kids loved the kids menu. Thank you, such a treat!

Our party of 11 adults had an excellent Sunday lunch which was served hot and in timely fashion by attentive staff. Couldn't fault it.

My husband and I came in for Sunday lunch. The pub was very warm cozy and busy but we were given a table straight away and served very quickly. The food was really nice , I had roast beef which was nice and soft. My husband had the trio of meats which he enjoyed as well. We were served by Olivia and Ewan. They were very polite and friendly Which goes a long way, thank you so much. We will be back.

Fantastic pub! We were looking to have brunch but were slightly late, but the manager accommodated us regardless and was so helpful and friendly! The food was great too! We will definitely be returning

Nice traditional pub, food was good but not exceptional, friendly service, relaxed atmosphere, ideal for large groups, plenty of parking

Food was lovely however service was very rude. I asked for extra gravy when the mains were first brought out and was told she was so busy I would have to wait. After 10 minutes I stopped eating as had run out of gravy, asked again and was told very rudely, I've told you you'll have to wait. My partner then explained that my food was now cold from waiting, and the girl rolled her eyes, and 2 minutes later very cold gravy was brought out. I ate the rest of my now cold food. The girl didn't speak to us for the remainder of service, just took the plates, we asked for the bill as no longer felt like we wanted dessert, no acknowledgement, just the bill plonked down on the table. The whole situation made us feel very unwelcome and what was supposed to be a lovely Sunday roast turned into a painful meal.

Busy bar, 3 very loud gents spolit the atmosphere a little as you couldn't talk without raising your voice. Staff needed to be mindful of how loud they were. Nice wine menu and good beers, well looked after.

I work awayin Aylesbury afew times a year and always stay at the five bells, not only is the hotel cosy & very comfortable but the pub is amazing. The food is the best I’ve eaten anywhere it doesn’t matter what you order. It’s always perfect.

Came for lunch a week ago to meet up with a very good friend had the pate with chutney and my friend had the cheese option both had the buttermilk burgers which I strongly recommend the lemon tart was gorgeous we were served by the lovely chatty Elizabeth exceptional service ,we will definitely be returning soon .

Had our works lunch yesterday, end result 14 happy work colleagues. Food portions were perfect. All food was bought out at the same time (last year one main was bought out 10 minutes after and some starters were cold) so we were all very impressed and the lady serving us was lovely and very attentive. Would definitely recommend

The service was accommodating and friendly. The pub itself is well presented and clean. The food was tasty but a little restricted on vegan options, particularly with starters and desserts. The member of our party was not happy that her rib eye steak was not that cut at all either. The food was otherwise tasty, and I would go back for the vegan roast/burger; providing that was exactly what I wanted as there is little other option.

Returned again as I love this place. We were promptly greeted by newbie Emma who was spectacular. Lovely smile, warm greeting and for her first Sunday at the Five Bells, she went above and beyond. Having recently been to 2 other restaurants and ordered roast beef I discovered that they were out of Horseradish sauce. So before ordering I asked Emma if they had any. She said yes but “but of course I’ll double check” which see did very promptly. She also brought the drinks swiftly and took our order. The food was great. Service excellent and all the staff very very polite. Well done to you all. Well done EMMA

We received a very warm welcome on arrival and were served drinks quickly. Our orders were taken within ten mins of sitting down by a lovely young lady with a warm smile and helpful attitude. The food took about forty five mins to arrive which is a little longer than usual but the venue was exceptionally busy. However the food was out of this world without question the best Sunday dinner I have eaten out with no exceptions. We had the trio, the beef and the sea bass and two children’s meals and they were outstanding quality beautifully hot unreal quality and cooked to absolute perfection so the wait was more than worth it. Wouldn’t hesitate to go again as the quality of the meal was outstanding.

I just had to drop a five-star review for the incredible waitress I had the other day, Liv. She was absolutely fantastic from the moment we walked in. Her friendly vibe made us feel super welcome, and she was really knowledgeable about the menu, which helped us pick out some amazing dishes. Throughout our meal, liv checked in on us at the perfect times, making sure we had everything we needed without being overbearing. You could tell she genuinely cared about our experience, and her positive energy was contagious! Honestly, if you ever get her as your waitress, you're in for a treat. She made our night out so special, and I can't thank her enough. Total five stars!

Came here on a Saturday. The food was ok, the service was not great, lots of staff but little attention to our orders, such as drinks and puddings.

Excellent place. Food very good. We stayed overnight too and the room was so clean, comfortable and well presented. Would eat here and stay again without a doubt. Lamb for dinner was really nice. Breakfast was HUGE! With lots leftover as we couldn’t possibly finish it.

if you're looking for a cosy traditional English inn, stay here, the rooms are really cosy, great bedding, everything is clean. So comfortable. Pub is very nice, great roast and dessert, live music. Worthwhile stopping here.
