Our first time for a drink in this pub. We really loved the old and quaint and local atmosphere. The service was very friendly. A really nice pub on the high street. Recommended.

Lovely stay in Wendover. Wonderful old coaching inn, full of character. Great staff, and everything went well - couldn’t do enough to help us. I should mention the heating system did make some noise at night in out room - bit of clanking, but perhaps we should have turned the thermostat down?!

Food way over priced. Some brusqueness from staff when checking in, ditto our friends ' experience. Rooms very nice. Rubbish Greedy King beers.

A delightful stay with the chikdren and dog. Family room with bunk beds was excellent. Nice touch with the nightcap drinks included. Check in staff were very friendly. Had a meal which was very tasty and the kids menu was better than usual with a couple of different options as well as the usual offerings. Would definitely recommend.

I had a really good experience at the Bel and Dragon recently, as I always do. I booked the private dining room for a 2-day off site with two colleagues and we were all really pleased with the venue. The room worked really well inc the projector and WiFi, my colleagues enjoyed their overnight stay, and everyone raved about the breakfast and dinner. We were very well taken care of - thank you!

Bel and the dragon is a lovely historical building. The bar is what you would expect from place with a real log fire. However, Over the rooms when first inspected are very clean and spacious we found that there wasn't enough lighting and very deal. We found it very hard to go to sleep when neighbors and people in the beer garden was parteen or still drinking well into the early hours 🤔 So if you are booking a room for a night or 2 just to be aware of the noise pollution and poor lighting in the room but, If you can get over these things then you ll have a pleasant stay.

Just booked for a family lunch so only saw the restaurant. Food was OK but could be much better. Staff was very nice but too busy. Maybe the whole restaurant needs more staff.

Unexpectedly packed due to Xmas parties, but service was brilliant. Some food was disappointing (rib eye steak), most food delicious (cheese croquettes are a must 😋) Very warm inside due to number of people made eating slightly uncomfortable in our location but the staff tried their best to help (open doors temporarily etc). All staff were encountered were amazing 👏

Food is decent, wine is expensive when compared to similar establishments. Good selection of cocktails and beers. The real ales are very well kept and the bar staff were very efficient and polite. What let's the place down a little is the service in the restaurant, it seemed to disappear after 9.30 pm...... So maybe we were just unlucky, or you should try to eat very early in the evening.

Expensive food, and they managed to serve the most disappointing Affogato I've ever tasted, then the waitress laughed when I explained my disappointment. Perhaps they'd do better if they had people with more experience in customer service waiting their tables.

Overpriced meal. Went out for a local drink and small meal. Ordered the cheese board, advertised for 2 people £5 each. Also ordered the charcuterie board at £6ish each, advertised as sharing boards. Could not believe the portion size. 3 thin slices of cheese, 5 biscuits, and a few pieces of cut fruit for 2 people! Would have complained whilst the food was still in front of us, but no staff came back to check on us whilst we were eating. I did mention I was disappointed in the portion size when they came to clear the plates, and the waitress was very polite and agreed, saying that they had, had a several similar complaints. I asked if £5 (one portion), just for the cheese, would be considered to be taken off the bill. 'I'll ask my manager'. Bill comes, no reduction, asked again and was told no, its good value for money! The second staff member did not seem to care and just offers me more cheese, now that i am finished and trying to leave. Helpful! Have eaten here once previous at the restaurant, nice food, but small portions and overpriced. We won't be coming again. Plenty of other lovely, friendly, and helpful restaurants in Wendover.

We've just returned from a wonderful weekend at The Red Lion in Wendover. I'd arranged a family get together and the staff could not have been more helpful. Special thanks to Agga who helped me iron out a few last minute changes on Friday evening, and then Lara for being so brilliant with the family on Saturday lunchtime. A few of us stayed on Friday and Saturday night as well. The rooms are spacious with all the amenities you'd need from a coffee machine, to some sloe gin for that final final night cap. Wendover is lovely town, and for those not driving, the station is a 7 minute walk from the station.

Was a lovely pub and a lovely. Meal, staff were warm and rather attractive. Price was a bit steep, noticed a 40 percent increase in same meal than before COVID, plus 15 percent service charge. Bloody nice Sunday dinner though. 7 shared a roast dinner platter. Chicken and beef. Not enough beef but enough food for all of us and tasty.

Stayed at Bel and The Dragon at the Red Lion for a night. The room is a beauty. Thoughtfully curated and top grade amenities provided. I can’t thanks the staff enough for their great hospitality and service. A pity that I missed the breakfast as I have to checked out early. But I bet it is good. Will highly recommend this place 👍

Summary: Rude, slow, unknowledgeable staff, got overcharged. Went for some drinks after a long ramble in Wendover woods. After waiting well over 10 mins standing at the bar, which was understaffed and the two men working were pouring drinks at an incredibly slow pace, we were eventually asked what we wanted to order. I asked if they did pitchers of "London Cup and lemonade", to which the bartender scoffed and said "no we don't do pitchers". Now, I was asking for this because last time I went and asked for a Pimm's, which they didn't have, and this is what the bartender offered me instead, which was good. So this time, I said OK you don't do pitchers, I'll have 5 London Cups with Lemonade, and the bartender said "what do you mean, that's not here" and gestured at the beers (London Pride). After showing him the Sipsmith bottle behind him, he proceeded to reluctantly make the drinks I had ordered. I was then charged £45.00, which now looking at the website prices is a massive over-charge on 5 single Sipsmith London with lemonades which were extremely diluted. Will absolutely not be returning.

Popped in for a light lunch today with a friend, as ever the service was excellent, the atmosphere was warm and friendly and the food was really delicious. We had Wild Mushrooms with tarragon & spinach on sourdough, courgette & pea soup and Parmesan fries - all were excellent and thoroughly enjoyed! We have stayed here for a wedding recently and the rooms, service and food were all fabulous. What a fabulous local asset this place is, thank you 😊

Good food, good value and comfortable surroundings although it can get rowdy at busy times. My latest visit was very pleasant with friendly staff and customers.
