When you step in feels like a old pub, the service is very polite, and the customers are friendly, warm welcome, they seven real ale on pump, they seven beers ciders, soft drinks, nuts snacks, the chairs very comfy, and nice veiw, the toilets are on the ground floor, the prices are very reasonable

Best pub in the local area...period! Particularly great Friday afternoon/evening sessions with Pizza van outside (you can eat your pizza in the pub too). Highly recommended

Fantastic pub with well kept beer and a great range of spirits including a thoughtful selection of tequila. Great in summer or winter either for drinks or watching sport (in winter the log fire is especially welcoming). Usually also a nice food truck outside at weekends. You'll receive a warm welcome here from owners Pete and Shelley. A real gem of a pub.

We only popped in for a pint after a long walk. There is a very friendly atmosphere and our dog was welcomed too.

Food wasn't bad either and I would have given it a 5 star rating if not for the super delay in getting food order filled. That said, it is a cosy looking pub with lots of authentic countryside charm. Love it. Update: they have a fairly decent size garden at the back to sit in at.

Always a welcoming pub with a wide range of well kept beverages available. Plenty to look at as well as every nook and cranny has interesting items, art and artefacts on display. Highest recommendation.

Have had the pleasure of Sampling the Unique Atmosphere & Fine Ales for over a Decade. It's frequented by a Mixture of Locals & their is always a Banter or Joke to be had.

If Carlsberg did bar staff this wouldn't be where they worked! More personalty in a dead fish. They obviously don't like strangers!

We were well looked after here, The menu is good but not extensive (maybe it's the present time). We went there a couple of times and would have gone back had we found a little more choice on the menu, but that's just our personal likes/dislikes. The service was very friendly and efficient, The food great and plenty of it. The homemade pie was top notch. Definitely do not miss this little gem, glad we tried it.

First pub I've been to since moving to Wendover a year ago. Really friendly staff, great food and Guinness. Good sized portions, my daughter couldn't finish her delicious chips. Will be coming back.

A return to inside service and what a lovely place to visit. Great service in a cosy, traditional pub atmosphere with a full range on the bar and enough Gins to sail a ship! Selections made easy with Peters guidance and a fantastic setting to unwind. Will be back!

This is a fabulous local pub, with a very good range of drinks, a varied menu of well-executed home cooked favourites, and a lovely setting. The music is particularly well chosen and the service is spot on. Can't wait to go back!

Great country pub with a friendly team. They have set up the venue to respect social distancing and have hand sanitiser available. Has a big garden with sheltered seating and the pub has its own car park. Didn't eat here but they serve food

We had an excellent lunch in here we had a small room at the front to ourselves and the staff and food was fantastic we only had sandwiches but they were chunky and well filled

Overall a good pub. We got a bit of a frosty reception, but I guess that’s because we weren’t locals. Roast potatoes were frozen/store bought. Don’t go here if you are worried about Covid.

Still able to sit in garden and safely socialise with our four friends under their new cleverly designed marquee. Complete with atmospheric lights and heaters for next week. Excellent Sunday lunch and warm welcome as usual.

First of all, thanks to Peter who uncomplainingly adjusted our booking multiple times due to changes in our circumstances. The pub is taking sensible, but not over the top, COVID precautions. Roast beef was excellent with a good selection of vegetables and nice choice of desserts, all at reasonable prices and washed down by a lovely pint or two of Timmy Taylor Landlord bitter. Friendly service. Only downside was decor was a bit drab - I get that they are aiming for shabby chic but it could certainly use a freshen up.

Lovely evening at this cosy local pub in the beautiful village of Wendover. Delicious burgers with home cut double cooked chips, pie of the day (beef and Stilton) and vegetarian chilli with homemade nachos all went down a treat. Sticky toffee pudding and hot chocolate brownie we’re also a hit. Very friendly service. Exceeded our expectations, will definitely return.

Incredibly prompt service, excellent reliable British classics served well (no greasy chips) and with polite, intelligent service. Generous portions but smaller portions available for kids.

The venue was great and was a good atmosphere. I was enjoying the evening till the man behind the bar (I believe his name was Pete) kept staring at my female friend. He then made a very inappropriate comment to my friend and she felt extremely uncomfortable, we had to leave our drinks at the table and leave immediately. Will never visit this place again!

Absolutely amazing atmosphere with outside seating feels like home from home the landlords can't do enough for you. Very highly recommend everybody to visit oh and the food is outstanding. Will definitely be visiting again when back in the area.

Popped in here after a short afternoon in Wendover. Absolutely lovely lunch sourced with local ingredients. I had the cottage pie which had delicious rich mince beef and my wife the fish and chips. Friendly staff and wouldn't hesitate in coming back for a nice hearty lunch next time in the area.

Sunday roast - I was disappointed as the reviews suggested the food is really good here; however I was underwhelmed by my Sunday roast. I don't think you get much for what you pay, for example it would have been nice to have some stuffing considering the cost is £14. Would not return unfortunately.

Had a wonderful lunch today at the King and Queen pub in Wendover. The service was superb. Thank you for fitting us in. Compliments to the chef, all the food was fantastic, my veggie Shepard's pie was very tasty. Will come back for that sticky toffee pudding, it looked lush.

This is a genuine ‘excellent’ rating, neither biased positive or paid, I just really like the King & Queen as my local. Pete and Shelley, and their Staff have established a true community pub through hard work, commitment and hospitality. Offering good traditional pub food, and well kept cask ales, including Timothy Taylor’s Landlord. A great local and stop-off for walkers, cyclists and dogs are also welcome. The K & Q is also a venue for live music, attracting accomplished home and international artists and groups within their tour dates.

Good Sunday Roast, epic Yorkshire Pud

Wonderful feel of a real country pub in the heart of Wendover. Excellent selection of beers, real ales, wine and gin in very atmospheric surroundings. Some of the best pub food we have eaten in a very long time and very reasonably priced. The fish and chips were to die for and I have never seen our 9 year old eat her food with such relish. A great place and we will come again.

Great staff in a great location. Gin menu is a nice touch unfortunately the kitchen wasn't open but the food has been recommended so need to head back soon.

Pleasant staff, cosy atmosphere inside, garden out the back is a nice place to sit in the summer. Great food (try the spicy bean burger) and a huge gin menu. Some cool chintzy mexican decor around the place as well. Would come back again. This place is doing it right.

Working near Aylesbury and staying in Wendover, I discovered this gem of a pub. The staff and great, serving excellent beers, spirits and very good food. Pete and Shel are great patrons supported by friendly and professional staff. I don’t quite live here but it is tempting.

Couldn’t have picked a better venue - local pub vibe but with highly professional and friendly service. Even friends that hadn’t visited the pub before commented on what an excellent venue it was for a small (30 people +) party. Organising the event was hassle free, staff worked tirelessly to ensure everything went smoothly. Honesty can’t recommend this place enough.

Exceptionally lovely pub in Wendover, lovely staff and landlady, excellent beers, food and atmosphere, our Morris side, Owlswick Morris and the Barefoot Belly dancers were made very welcome by all. So nice to be back again.

Quite a regular drop in for us when in Wendover and always have a good welcome. Staff knowledgeable about their selection, small suntrap and sheltered garden and good mix of food to suit most tastes. Car park too as town can be quite busy on a Saturday.

My new favourite pub in the south of England. Loved the ambience, warm welcome, great beer and excellent pub food. If this pub was near my house I would live there.

A warm and friendly place to enjoy well cooked pub grub often using local produce. There is a good selection on the menu and everything is freshly cooked. The staff are very attentive- Lyndsay looks after us very well. Shelley and Pete are doing an excellent job.

Enjoyed a lively meal here. Pie of the day and a few ciders. I enjoyed the still Thatcher's I had and was nice for a change from the fizz. The pie, Coq au vin was a little over cooked but overall was great. I loved the veggies, pie crust and gravy. The starter Nachos were also very tasty! If we travel to Wendover we will be back for a burger!

Just of the high street in Wendover is this fantastic pub. My son is a regular there, my wife and I go there every so often with him to enjoy a good pint and an excellent atmosphere

Second visit here and the right choice for our works Christmas lunch. Food as before was great, well prepared, well presented and every morsel eaten. 3 courses for a very good price and no extra charge for the beef and cheese board. Add the extra home made mince pies and a hot drink, what great value for money. The owners and staff are just great, very friendly and good to have a laugh with. Really recommend this place just for a drink let alone a visit to try the great food.
