We were well looked after here, The menu is good but not extensive (maybe it's the present time). We went there a couple of times and would have gone back had we found a little more choice on the menu, but that's just our personal likes/dislikes. The service was very friendly and efficient, The food great and plenty of it. The homemade pie was top notch. Definitely do not miss this little gem, glad we tried it.

First of all, thanks to Peter who uncomplainingly adjusted our booking multiple times due to changes in our circumstances. The pub is taking sensible, but not over the top, COVID precautions. Roast beef was excellent with a good selection of vegetables and nice choice of desserts, all at reasonable prices and washed down by a lovely pint or two of Timmy Taylor Landlord bitter. Friendly service. Only downside was decor was a bit drab - I get that they are aiming for shabby chic but it could certainly use a freshen up.

This is a genuine ‘excellent’ rating, neither biased positive or paid, I just really like the King & Queen as my local. Pete and Shelley, and their Staff have established a true community pub through hard work, commitment and hospitality. Offering good traditional pub food, and well kept cask ales, including Timothy Taylor’s Landlord. A great local and stop-off for walkers, cyclists and dogs are also welcome. The K & Q is also a venue for live music, attracting accomplished home and international artists and groups within their tour dates.

Lunch today with my partners brother and fiancee in the quaint King and Queen. Two real fires burning that enhanced the lovely welcome on our arrival. Lunch was freshly cooked and they don't exaggerate about the chips. They are so tasty, perfectly cooked, thick cut and just the right amount of crispness. Shelly could not have been more hospitable. Especially patient as we were late for our table! Our dog was made very welcome with a pat and big smile. Window table we were seated at was bright, clean and well laid. Nothing was too much trouble. The toilets, always a big test for me, were spotless, lovely soap on hand too. The only thing is the table we had also was located by the front door that you didn't appreciate was operational. Might be good to move the table slightly to make egress etc easier for the diners and those wishing to use it as an entrance / exit. Just wish this pub was nearer to us as would definitely be making this a regular haunt. If you are in the area give it a go. If you are not in the area it is very well worth a visit.

On a recommendation we visited this cracking little pub with the promise of an excellent Sunday roast. We weren't disappointed. The roast pork (with all the usual - and some unusual - trimmings) was brilliant - melt-in-the-mouth meat; spot-on roast spuds. Just like home cooked. Crumble and custard hit the spot. Service was good, particularly on a very busy sitting. The menu is simple as is the pricing - one price for all starters and desserts; one for all mains (although you do get a discount for two or three courses). Plenty of choice for all and you get the impression nothing would be too much trouble. If you're anywhere near Wendover look it up - we'll certainly be back.

It's small, dirty, grumpy hosts that don't seem to actually want any new business. Without a notification of last orders people were ejected as "I want to go home" but carried on serving locals til gone 1am. Our taxi finally arrived so who knows how much longer. If you want to be treated like crap, have your drinks snatched, shouted at or simply experience rude service go ahead. We always have great service and it was nice to be remembered on only our second visit. The other bar staff are super friendly and we now refer to it as our local. It wasn't busy for a Saturday lunchtime in the holiday season: but it did take quite a time to get a table organised, taking an order and enjoying our meal. There seemed to be a hiccup in the kitchen with something being turned off that shouldn't have been. But the food we had (I had the steak and ale pie with mash and vegetables) was acceptable and wholesome. Thank you for that. But it would concern me what would happen if the place was busy.

This was our lunch stop (after 2.30) on a long ramble. It was our last chance of a decent pub lunch - the other pubs just doing 'foreign/no food/elaborate menus for Fathers' Day. Even here just roasts were on offer - but quicly served, piping hot generous portions and great value for money. Normally more than I'd eat on a ramble - but no chance of eating anything else until after 8pm so really appreciated a good tuck-in! Good choice of real ales too, nice traditional pub setting and friendly staff.

Visited this pub many times in the "good old days" with Peter.Thanked my lucky stars those days are over. The new proprietors are lovely down to earth people who are on a great learning curve to give this pub its heart back.Honesty and integrity are back.

We called in for a drink one evening and found it to be a friendly and welcoming pub. The decor suits the age of the building and there is a good range of beers and lagers available. We had a chat with the landlord and he explained his plans to introduce various events to provide entertainment for both locals and visitors. The menu appeared to be quite traditional and very reasonably priced.

We had the set lunch menu and it was very good value at just £8 for two courses and £9.50 for three. Portions weren't huge but the food was tasty. We also had a pizza that was homemade and with a lovely thin crust. All the staff that served us were very helpful and friendly and I could see why it was obviously a popular destination for locals.Easy to park in hone car park, and a small garden to sit outside. No specific things for children but our two pre school aged ones were made very welcome.

Four of us went here for lunch yesterday, the first time I've been since new management took over. I was so happy to see the place looking so lovely and full of life! We had a lovely lunch and puddings to follow. Nothing too fancy but great big portions of tasty pub grub which is exactly what we wanted. Good value, great drinks, warm and friendly service. The place was buzzing full of happy customers. We all had a fabulous time and can't wait to go back!

We have started visiting the King and a Queen regularly since we discovered it a few week ago. It's very friendly, the food s excellent, and very reasonably priced. The new landlords have put a lot of love and care and money into making this a really friendly place to stop for a drink or a meal. Very dog friendly too!If the weather is good, there's a lovely little garden and gazebo too.Well done! For our money, this is definitely the BEST PUB RESTAURANT IN WENDOVER!!

I've visited the K&Q several times for lunch in the last few weeks. Prior to that we last visited several years ago and weren't too impressed.Things have changed, it's been smartened up and now as well as decent quality pub grub they have some some pretty interesting specials. Today I had some very tasty faggots and mash while my wife enjoyed her ham, egg and chips.Staff are friendly and efficient and obviously trying very hard, when we visited there were a number of locals coming and going, this is obviously a well loved local and we will be returning.

Have visited several times over the past year and the food has always been to the same standard, good honest pub fare, particularly the liver. On our last visit we were debating which bottle of red to have and the lady suggested we had a taste of two to make up our minds. We have never been disappointed and would recommend this pub for it's very reasonable prices.

We booked a table for four and had a Sunday roast at the King & Queen. At first glance you may have thought you would be disappointed at the fact that there was no starter, a choice of two mains, and a choice of three puddings, (counting ice cream on its own as one). The staff were attentive and showed us to our table, and continued to look after us throughout the proceedings. I chose a pork based main course, and the meals were accompanied by a full gravy boat for those that wanted more - I like that. So many restaurants serve good food but it is spoilt by not enough gravy, and one has to ask for more. Not only did the meal cost very little, excellent value for money, but it was good and wholesome. We could not have been any more satisfied had we chosen a 5 star restaurant or a takeaway somewhere. Well done King & Queen. We shall return!

stopped in what was my favourite pub for the bank holiday as i had an extra day to shall we say relax, and well i was shocked for a number of different things. one the old manager peter that used to be there has gone (such a shame) the lady who used to work behind the bar now runs it well not sure how well that will last. it has no atmosphere and is lacking in the tradition feel it used to have. a customer i had never seen before told me they were actually going to have a refurb and you could see that that had slowly started one way or another. i think the only way i will return to this pub is by making it how it used to be with the old people just the same. sorry but i wish the new people the best of luck in making it anything like it used to be.

On Saturday night at 10.45 myself, husband and our two friends popped into the King & Queen. I asked the lady behind the bar if they were still open as it was completely empty. We were told 11pm was closing so we ordered drinks. As my husband was choosing what to put on the jukebox a miserable man from behind the bar shouted 'have you put money in there?!' On being told not yet he told us in no uncertain terms not to as it upsets the neighbours. A chap came in and tried to order a drink saying that a party of 20 were following him in. The guy behind the bar was so rude to him telling him he didn't want them in there, they should all find somewhere else to drink. The group came in and he relented and served them. I think the barman needs to go back to Charm School. We shall not be returning...ever

We ate here with the kids on the way to Wendover Woods. The waiter was very friendly and helpful. No kids menu as such but happy to do small portions of most things on the menu for them. Let down by the quality of the cooking though- greasy fish, pie lacking flavour and soggy pastry. Burger nice thoug as were the ham eggs and chips. That said it was very reasonably priced,

I took my wife, 2 young children and mother in law for Sunday lunch on 3rd November 2013, we were made to feel very welcome especially the kids (2 1/2 yrs & 9 months) comfortable and relaxing setting with excellent service. We had the roast beef which was superb!! Food was hot, fresh and presented far better than some of the fine dining restaurants that we frequent in London.I very rarely comment or leave feedback but this experience warranted the time to provide my praise..... Will definitely return
