The best restaurants in Weald Central Ashford South East

The food was reasonably priced, and vegan. The service was quick. The victoria sponge and meringue tasted like the real thing. It was SO lovely having hens wandering around our feet.

We have always loved this delightful country pub and would recommend to anyone. Yesterday we went there to see the rugby and there was a great vibe. Loved it. Good beer, lovely snacks between the games and good service with a smile. Well done again to Dermott, Kym and the team.

Positives - nicely decorated, good selection of drinks, delicious desserts. Negatives - we were not impressed with our main course. "Fish and chips with minted pea puree and homemade tartare sauce." The chips were fries, like I'd expect in a happy meal at McDonald's. The presentation was poor, and we had to remind them about the tartare sauce, which was then shared between 2/3. I didn't raise any complaints as our meals were being paid for by a friend as a treat and I didn't want to upset them, but if I had personally been paying £16 for this plate of food, I'd have been extremely disappointed.

Three of went here for Sunday lunch and we couldn’t have been more impressed. Lovely, welcoming staff who had no objections at all to our two dogs. The food was really good, best roast I’ve had in a pub for years. The Guiness and wine was also top quality. Highly recommended and we will be certainly be going back.

Sammy, Andy & Team - thank you for a special evening. Having lived in the village for 20 years it was fantastic to witness good times returning to the Black Horse. In your short time looking after the pub you have managed to breathe life back into the heart of the community. Had a very enjoyable lunch last Sunday. Service was attentive and friendly. Food was well cooked and seasoned. Yorkshire puddings were really excellent. Venue has large parking space and level pathways to interior. [If you have mobility issues use the left hand side carpark at the end of the drive] In all excellent value.

Been here a few times with mates for our pre Christmas meal, and always said to my wife how nice it was.So decided to go and try the normal menu, and it was fantastic, generous portions, great pizza, and puddings to die for. Service was fantastic from Sam and nothing was too much trouble. We will be back again soon.

A lovely Indian with great service. There's a good range of options on the menu to choose from and all reasonably priced. The food was cooked well and the service wasn't too long. The staff were friendly.

Stopped for lunch after a very long walk. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The food was great. Fish and chips were perfect. My hubby had a burger which he said was very tasty and home made and my friend had the risotto which she enjoyed too. All at a very reasonsable price. 100 per cent recommend.

Fabulous overnighter en route to France. Our room was lovely and very clean. Amenities are fabulous and high quality. Bed very comfy and powerful shower. Very impressed by the whole set up and the pub was great too. Lovely food and good selection of drinks. Big shout out to the lovely Molly who was so welcoming and went out of her way to make everything was just as it should be. Would highly recommend if in the area.

Had a home delivery from Just Eat. Very speedy and courteous driver. Fish was hot and delicious in a separate box. A nice touch of a lemon wedge and a pot of tartare sauce. Chips were a huge portion. Small served both of us!! I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend them.

Nipped in for a lovely, fresh, homemade lunch after our visit to The Reindeer Sanctuary. Wonderful food, so hot and scrummy - children portions very good!
