Fit us in for a meal last min on a Sunday evening, absolutely beautiful food, well kept pub, very friendly staff, great atmosphere!

This is quite possibly one of the best pubs for food and service that I have ever been to. I was amazed not only by the quality of the food but also by how wonderful the staff were. My wife and I live in Dubai, where food and service are second to none and we were hoping for a good meal in a nice spot with a friendly welcome. Rose & Crown not only delivered that but completely exceeded our expectations. One of the best in Kent for sure 👍

Great little pub with good beer and a decent outside area for younger kids. Back has a garden bar with a limited selection but good enough. Although we haven't attended it looks like they have a few events in the summer too. With great weather you have a choice of outdoor seating in the front (with views over the field) or.the back away from the road and close to the play area. On Sunday we popped in for just a drink but the food looked great. It was busy too with many tables reserved.

A lovely country pub full of atmosphere. We stopped by for an early dinner and the staff was very accommodating and attentive. Good place with kids too - our toddlers loved the mini playground in the garden.

Our local, The Rose and Crown, is a warm and friendly pub, we would thorghly recommend a visit. The food is excellent and the staff are friendly and professional.

Good food, but 4 noisy guys at the bar made conversation difficult. Get a table away from the bar.

1st visit to this lovely pub. The food was delicious, very hot and plenty of it. The staff were polite and friendly. Will definitely return.

What can I say. Not a bad word to say about Dermot and the team(we love u Debbie!) this has become our local pub for a number of years now since the local in egerton shut. Such a welcoming atmosphere. Treated like family as nothing is too much. Always bend over backwards to accommodate us. Even when we drop in last minute we are always able to get seated, a hot meal and a lovely drink. Always leave laughing and with a smile. A real gem to find a pub like this now days. Food it’s lovely, drinks always cold and very well priced. You won’t be disappointed. Till next time team 👌

If you haven’t visited here for food in a while I can highly recommend a visit. Been a few times in the last few months and the foods been delicious every time. The pies are fantastic, you won’t be disappointed! The staff are always friendly and service is great. The only thing I think need changing is the dining room decor, warmer lighting and a different wall colour would really improve the atmosphere. Never change how you make the pies though please! 🙏

A very pleasant relatively remote country pub. Good ale (Harvey’s). Friendly and very helpful staff. Busy on the Sunday we visited, so need to book for a table if eating. I need to try this again mid week.

17 members in our group, 9 different main course and everyone was 5 star for quality. My Chicken and mushroom pie was one of the best I had eaten.

One of the loveliest pubs we have been in for a long time! Exactly what you’d imagine a countryside pub to be! So, so friendly and the food was beautiful. I’ve already recommended it to my family. The pecan pie was one of the nicest things we’ve tasted! We will be back!

My friends and i stumbled upon this place for a late Saturday afternoon drink and meal. What a find, everything was exceptional. The service by Debbie was outstanding, the food came in large portions and was to die for. I would thoroughly recommend this place.

Great honest food, attentive staff, dog friendly (in bar), open fires, lovely atmosphere, big garden, proper country pub. Dermot is also supportive of local community organisations which is amazing. Highly recommend.

Visited this pub yesterday for the first time and we will definitely be going back soon! The food was delicious, the decor is charming and exactly what a country pub should be with the big open fire, atmosphere was really relaxing and the service was perfect. The manager / owner even brought our dog some treats over which was a lovely touch.

Thought I'd died and gone to heaven. My doctrine of always going for a "special" was rewarded in spades. The most unctuous haunch of venison - blissful. Amazing food

A friendly welcome from the staff and locals. Great food, quality items with lovely touches i.e. tempura onions, sour dough bread, etc. . House wine and IPA of good quality. Charming waiting staff.

Superb food. Dog friendly. A little pricey but definitely a case of you get what you pay for. The squid starter was superb and the venison main was to die for. Followed by white chocolate cheesecake. Absolutely devine. All in a brilliant atmosphere.

This is the best Sunday roast I've ever had in an English pub, absolutely amazing. We had the chicken roast and the nut roast. The vegetables and potatoes in particular are exceptional. The staff is super friendly and the rooms are cosy. It is a genuine pub, with locals popping up for a drink, families coming for dinner, and the odd wakers like us arriving impromptu for a meal. All this for a fair price. We will be back!

We visited this restaurant a few times. Nestled in the heart of Kent. The food was very good and portions were generous. Debbie our server was delightful and masterfully dealt with our larger group. A special thank you to Dermot the owner who secured transportation from the wedding venue for the 11 of us (taxis are difficult to find …. learned that the hard way 😏) A must try. You won’t be disappointed

I'm biased really as I know this pub well, our car club uses it too but we were passing through today. It's a lovely pub with all the elements that makes a great country pub. Staff, food atmosphere and location, just 'Perfick' as Pop Larkin would say.

Went for a Birthday lunch with my family, Staff were so friendly, the food was amazing, reasonable prices too. Really lovely surroundings and the whole experience was fantastic. Will definitely return and recommend to all.

Fabulous prawn roll and salad for lunch. Really fresh crusty and soft roll with plenty of prawns. Eaten in the evening several times with great food. Thanks so much… we will be back soon. If you haven’t been please give it a go. Great winter or summer pub

My husband and I had a meal here for our anniversary. It was our first visit and It was amazing. Our server was the senior waitress and she was so helpful, friendly and polite, she really made our time there lovely. Would definitely go back, the food was so good!

Lovely country pub, saw a couple of dogs in there so dog friendly. Didn't eat just stopped off for a drink after a drive around the country. Some country pubs like this have a local atmosphere when you walk in where the locals know each other and it feels weird, but definitely not the case here! The locals were all friendly and you felt welcome even tho we had 2 young kids with us. We sat in the lovely garden out the back which was a good size, with play area for the kids and great lighting around the garden creating a warm feeling with your drink. Not expensive drinks either for a country pub, 7 drinks just over £20 which was good 👍 Highly recommend this place and if in the area again would go back

We just moved to the area and have tried a number of pubs - this is definitely the best so far, with quality food and great service. Just had a really excellent Sunday lunch. My wife and I both had the beef roast which was tender and tasty. Came with roasties, Yorkshire pud, parsnip, cauli cheese, mixed green veg, and a nice gravy. We’ll be returning shortly to try out the midweek menu.

What a lovely pub, set in the beautiful Kent countryside. Wanted to find a pub that was open on a Monday which proved difficult then we found the Rose and Crown, a very good find. There was a good range of food on the menu. My friend and I chose the chicken ceasar salad. She also had a banofee pie. Both courses were delicious, plenty of chicken in the salad. Service was good and the landlady very friendly. Its also a dog friendly pub. Large car park with a small garden at the front. Will definitely visit again.

Quick pint at this lovely little pub after a day at the nearby Big Cat sanctuary. As the sign in the toilet says, it really is the 'quintessential' country pub! Full of character, lovely outdoor area, decent beer, food looked good and friendly staff! Well worth a visit if you're in the area!

Lovely dog friendly pub. We had drinks here after walking our dogs around Dering Woods. The sofa seating area & wifi were welcome after our walk & the atmosphere was friendly & upbeat.

I cannot recommend this place enough. As someone who is gluten free it's often hard to eat out as most places do not label their food as such. However, this menu was labelled with gluten free and dairy free options. They could even adapt. They assured me that gluten free food was prepped in a separate area and they had separate fryers. I even had a gluten free beer. Finally someone who understands the concept of coeliacs. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Lovely atmosphere and beautiful garden. Can't wait to return.

Lovely country pub for a drink and lunch. Dog friendly and they have a nice open fire place to warm you up when the weather isn't great. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The menu was a bit limited but this was due to it being the end of December and they only had a Christmas menu available which was understandable. It's very rustic with flag stone floors and lots of exposed beams which just adds to its charm. Highly recommended

We both had a lovely lunch here, you get lots for your money, but the total price was expensive...nearly £50 with alcohol....

I had lunch here today with my partner and her mum. We chose it because we had enjoyed meals here in the past (2 years or more ago) and the menu looked quite interesting. Starters were fine, but 2 of the main courses were decidedly average. Cod with chorizo where the chorizo appeared to be large chunks boiled, neither ingredients had any discernable flavour. The other was Mediterranean vegetables with arborio rice and saffron. Too much saffron makes a meal bitter and there was no other flavour to this dish. We wouldn't choose to return.

Really good food and staff were so friendly. Great decor inside, feels like a proper old style pub and plenty of room inside so you don’t feel squashed. I would highly recommend and I will happily go there again. Good is fairly priced and meals are of a decent size.
