Had a very enjoyable lunch last Sunday. Service was attentive and friendly. Food was well cooked and seasoned. Yorkshire puddings were really excellent. Venue has large parking space and level pathways to interior. [If you have mobility issues use the left hand side carpark at the end of the drive] In all excellent value.

Very disappointed with our visit to this restaurant. The disappointment began with laminated menus, awful music, dirty cutlery, a dirty & sticky table and a dirty drinks glass. I had pulled BBQ pulled pork croquettes to start, which was dry & had very little BBQ sauce with it. I then had burger for main, which was literally the driest burger I have ever eaten in my life. Chips were deep fried kebab takeaway style chips, pretty disappointing considering the price charged. For dessert I had sorbet, which was actually inedible. Not once was I asked if everything was okay with my meal, pretty standard procedure normally. My wife’s plate was taken away once she had finished, despite me still battling through the Saharan burger. To be fair, my wife said her starter and main were nice, but the strawberry cheesecake honestly tasted like chemicals. The most disappointing thing is that we were hoping to reminisce about our wedding reception, which was held at The Little Silver Country Hotel (and was utterly faultless by the way), but instead we left with a feeling we will probably never return!

Great choice of food, good quality and at a reasonable price. Excellent service. Good wine list and local brew bottled ale and the local Chapel Down wine. Perfect for us.

Dinner in the restaurant attached to and part of the hotel, was first class. We were promptly seated and attended to at the time requested - a good start. Drinks order taken as we gazed and stumbled through a very varied although small menu. There were specials as well. The drinks arrived with warm bread rolls as we were ready to order. The starters offered duck and spring roll bon-bons. Excellent deep fried balls full of duck and onion, with a deep rich sauce (and the customary salad garnish). The soup was thick and rich, and also plentiful. Two lovely fillets of sea-bream with crushed potatoes and plenty of seasonal vegetables was one main; the other was lamb rump with dauphinoise potato, and vegetables (with a good gravy, not a thing jus). The portion size of the main courses was enough for us to pass on what might have been good desserts - they sounded grand anyway. The staff were excellent, there when needed and away, keeping their eyes on things otherwise. Recommended!

Helpful staff and a great small menu with good choices which the chef adapted to suit my wife's dietary requirements. Would recommend.

We ate here twice while staying at the hotel. Both my wife's and my food were superb, deliciously tender lamb, pork, chicken and pasta dishes. Great desserts too with a good wine selection including the local Chapel Down white wine.

We ate at the restaurant during our 3 Night Christmas break and enjoyed every meal. If I were in the area again, I would not hesitate to go again and try it out as a non-resident.

The food served by the Oaks Restaurant is outstanding and I enjoy inviting friends and family so I can listen to their comments of how their taste buds have suddenly come alive. They always accommodate my bizarre requests such as to have two meals combined especially when I want to try something new on the menu.

Excellent quality food, reasonably priced, however no Steak on the menu? Deep fried Brie to start and fabulously moist poached Salmon for main. Passed on the dessert as £9.95 for cheese (3) and biscuits seems very pricey. My girlfriend chose Duck Terrine and Grilled Chicken Breast. With both main courses the veg and potatoes were cooked to perfection

No-one else in restaurant at 7.30-9.30 p.m. King prawn starter were not king prawns and served on undressed fennel.Sirloin steak mains were gristley and not very tender. Sorbets awful and panacotta not served with anything that resembled a strawberry coulis.

This restaurant is part of the Little Silver Country Hotel. On our first night stay we ate here and we were delighted with everything! We were served drinks in the lounge whilst we perused the menu. The menu was limited with 7 starters, 7 main courses and 7 desserts but we were not disappointed. We both started with the 'Crab & Spring Onion Cakes' whilst I had the Pork Medallions and my wife had the Seabass. The food was great as was the wine we chose and we couldn't fault the service. The restaurant looked out onto a garden and a patio area which was south facing so ideal for taking in the evening sun before and/or after dinner!

We went for a meal last night to celebrate my birthday and to try out the food as we have booked our wedding here next year. The restaurant was not busy only three tables occupied and there was a wedding in process in the hall. Our young waiter Steve was friendly and attentive without being overbearing. We had a drink in the lounge while we placed our order and were called to our table when our starter was ready. The food was very nice and we had a lovely relaxing evening. We had coffee in the lounge afterwards and never felt rushed. We definately plan to visit little siver again before the wedding and maybe stay over.

I came for a Sunday breakfast with my wife and child last month and had a very poor meal unfortunately. I had the breakfast sandwich, the bacon was tough no hint of being crisp with a layer of unrendered almost raw fat and mostly all barely warm. My kids had the pancakes and were expecting something light and fluffy but they resembled a stodgey scone with no real taste. My wife had a cold poached egg. I dislike leaving a negative review but we were all looking forward to breakfast and at £70 ish not cheap and not worth it. One thing - I had a nice coffee and good service - just very poor food.

Friendly staff and wonderful service, food was piping hot and fairly quick to arrive, with generous portions and everything was delicious, will definitely go back next time we are in the area.

After a long period of absence we went for drinks here on Christmas Eve. Not a single pump was working and a small bottle of Peroni and an equally small (and disgusting) bottle of Prosecco was charged at £10! The manager was overheard telling another punter that they were “running down the stock” which translates to “we’re going to be closing soon”. Such a shame - this used to be an amazing pub years ago. Mis-management has led to the state it is now in. Bring back the former owners.

Really nice place with good coffee and cakes and good atmosphere. Reasonably priced. Also has offerings from various local artisans.
