Great roast dinner last week. Definitely eat there again

We visited as multi generation (4) family plus a dog. With a warm welcome and great service, we all choose variations on the Sunday roast, which was delicious and plentiful. Lots of gravy roasty potatoes and varied veg. A few of us squeezed in some delicious puddings too! Great range of drinks and ales, plus a lovely open fire. Would warmly recommend.

Went for a family lunch midweek. Very extensive menu and everything we had was really nice. Excellent cider as well. We went back for lunch the next day. It’s a shame that they do not do food on Saturday or Monday

Can't praise them enough..We went for the festive menu... The food was outstanding as well as alot of it .. Was served by a lovely lady called Jules who made you very welcome.. And 2 very polite and helpful waitresses ( Elisha and Kaci ) Will definitely be back...

We went today for lunch . From the moment we walked into the bar we were made welcome . We went to the table and ordered our meals . All I can say is the starters and main course were exceptional only complaint far to much , just delicious. Will certainly return . Thank you to all the staff

Owing to a cycling accident Landlady Lauren came to our rescue, scooping up the casualty at the expense of leaving her pub to rush our cyclist to hospital. What an hero. Our grateful thanks to Lauren. We are now sitting and sampling the Dukes Head and what a great pub it is.

Wasn't busy for diners but took 1hr 15mins to get 4 meals. When they come, the portions were generous, but a little overcooked. It was however tasty enough. There was no apology for the delay. The place needed a deep clean, bar stools had dust all over them. It was all a little shabby since the last time we went. Such a shame as it used to be a great place to go for a meal. We won't be back.

My local. Always nice to pop in for a pint or three and banter with friends. Good pub food with large portions.

The food and service at The Dukes Head, Hamstreet just keeps on getting better!! 👏👏👏👏. It's not ideal for children though, not much for them to do apart from go into the back garden - that's worth bearing in mind. All in all though, you won't leave after a meal feeling you've been cheated on the portions..... that's a promise!!

We went for a Sunday roast, and the smashing service was welcoming, freindly . The food was hot and plenty of it very tasty we will definitely be going back and great value for money. The pub was very clean with a wood fire .

Based at the bottom of the hill in the centre of Hamstreet this pub offers off road parking and easy access. The pub serves a traditional range of beers and spirits and bar food (l believe).

What a fantastic feast from starters to main, desserts, mince pies, fruit bowls and chocolates. Food hot, well presented and excellent value for money, attentive, cheerful service. Thank you for making our family meal one to remember

Amazing homemade Sunday roast one of the best I've ever had and the homemade pies are delicious. Wonderful friendly staff who can't do enough to help you especially Ellesha who was outstanding . Definitely going to go back and would recommend it to everyone.

Nice ploughman's for lunch after walking in the woods. Good range of beers. (Bit of a terrible photo but by the time I'd noticed, I'd already eaten it all..) Seemed popular with locals which is a good sign. Parking available

Best roast I’ve eaten in long time. Called in on off chance but fully booked. They found us table and I’m glad they did. Loads to eat no room for pudding. I WILL BE BACK No photo as nothing left

Absolutely amazing food, great menu with lots of options to suit all tastes and sensible prices, plus very friendly bar staff, you will not be disappointed Next visit and had probably tge BEST roast dinner in the county, maybe the whole country! Roast potatoes, new potatoes roast parsnips. Cabbage. Carrots, peas, cauliflower, thick rich gravy and a choice of single or mixed meats, so so good, and too much u need to do the American thing and ask for a box to take the extra food home for the next day.

As always, the food was divine and staff will go above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect! Can't beat their roasts and the selection of home made dishes. Everything is fresh and home cooked and the portions are very generous. Great selection of ciders too.

Decent pub and great vibe. Family friendly and staff is amaizing. -2stars for food, seems preodered frozen from Iceland then microwaved, chips tasted of orders done before mine. Pub needs a proper Chef. All the rest really great.

We visited with the motorcycle. The owner was very helpfull with startpunt cables, thanks a lot.

Excellent value for money, huge portions!

I booked here for an evening meal with a friend. I know of the pub but had never been. I will definitely be returning. We were greeted warmly by the staff, who were polite and friendly. The Duke has an extensive menu to choose from and I ordered chicken ,avocado and bacon salad and my friend had the leek and Stilton pie. The salad was plentiful with a good quantity of chicken, avocado and bacon, it was delicious. The pie was equally of good portion and tasted lovely but due to my friends small appetite was able to finish it. The pub had a few locals in and some diners too. A great atmosphere. A lovely evening spent with a friend in lovely pub. I shall return.

Recently went here for a birthday meal, the portions are very generous and all food was extremely tasty! Can recommend the mixed starter and the home made lasagne, all food was very reasonably priced.

The Dukes Head is our local pub, and has had its ups and downs. But, we decided to give it another go this evening. What a difference! The food this evening was absolutely delicious! It really was pub grub at its best! We would recommend The Dukes Head, Hamstreet completely. Very friendly, helpful staff. Very very impressed!

Good food. Mountain burger was good but not a Jalapeño in site. Very busy for Sunday lunchtime always a good sign nowadays. Will really visit again with friends soon. Perfect..

I went here with family for a Sunday lunch. You are given a very good choice of meats . I went for the mixed meats which was a slice of beef , lamb and pork . I could have had any of these meats individually or half a chicken. These are served with 2 Yorkshire puddings and mountains of vegetables. It was £11 95 a head which I think is good value for money for what you got . The pub itself is a little shabby inside and you could be put off by this . What I suggest is give it a try, the food is very good and they have a good menu available. I saw someone else at another table have a pie and it looked delicious .

Ordered take away fish and chips for 2. £23....Cod was good but small . Chips were not good . Tasted like oven cooked fast food style. Not home cooked. Expected to pay more as from a pub kitchen, but very disappointed and would not use again as was definately not value for money. Staff were good over the phone and when I collected.

You will not find better pub food anywhere, A Sunday lunch as good as you would cook at home, with a selection of meats, beautiful roast potatoes and lots of fresh veg, A mid week lunch of chicken leek and mushroom home cooked pie with vegetables and large portions, Highly recommended.

First time visited this pub for Sunday roast. My hubby ordered half a roast chicken and I ordered lamb...well a lot of faults chicken was ding in microwave and my was so over cooked Ieft it all..defo boil in the bag...disgusting. We informed the waitress . Defo won't return....

Large selection on menu including home cooked, my slice of chicken and leek and mushroom pie was huge, the mash was perfect and the veg. Plentiful and fresh. Lovely meal, make sure you're hungry as portions are large!Great friendly service from Kate or cat, ( sorry I'm deaf!) Who seemed to be running everything all on her own, and coping very well.Recommended.

This pub does not look much from outside. However the food is excellent. Vast quantities, good quality from a varied menu. Service is also excellent.

Having the odd drink in the last week but having made my first visit under the rules, absolutely stunned.Girl behind the bar not interested in any rules by not wearing a mask herself most of the time and when a compliant regular queried it was told that if she told people to wear masks they wouldn't have any customers in 2 weeks time.1 guy stood at the bar drinking who ignored everything said about the rules.Boris, you have your work cut out.Avoid !!
