This café is our go to Cafe in Ashford! It's the best in my opinion! It's always good food, the staff are always helpful, friendly and willing to meet any demands or expectations. Sometimes some of the crowds outside or people that come in can ruin the atmosphere but overall, I enjoy going to this well run and well priced cafe and see myself continuing to visit.

Exactly as it should be at a good breakfast cafe. Great hearty food which is good value served by helpful staff who always have a smile on their faces and a cheerful word. Highly recommended

1st visit but won’t be the last. Clean with friendly staff & large menu. We had the Lighter breakfast which was just right size for those who aren’t a manual worker anymore 😅👍 & a great price too. A hidden gem although a lot of regulars have already found it.

Very popular and usually busy which speaks for itself. Service is excellent and so is the food, It is very good value and very clean as well. I would recommend this cafe for breakfast or lunch.

If no stars was an option I would have put that. The food turned up all slopped about in the container. The egg was all mushed up. Disgusting.

Stale toast, undercooked bacon and dry chips.

What a lovely find, in Ashford. Came down for the day, and walked by, and found the cafe. Staff are friendly, cafe was clean. Extensive menu as well. Menu included breakfast, brunch, jacket potatoes and roast dinners. My omlette was lovely. Husband had a Gorge special. He enjoyed it. Drinks were fab too- a hot chocolate and double espresso..Never knew this cafe was here. I'm sure we will be back to visit. :)

Was my first time coming and honestly wasn’t disappointed. Food was delicious, service was amazing, value for food is fantastic. Will definitely be back again.

Following early start to drop off car looked for coffee. Not a lot open but welcoming sign drew us in. Friendly welcome and coffee order taken and menu perused. Drinks were with us quickly and we added 2 different breakfasts. Both arrived quickly , well presented and tasty. We ordered 2 more lattes which soon arrived with a smiling lady who chatted to us. Good clean toilets and all for under £20. Will definitely return.

We had a last minute problem with the venue we had booked for a large family breakfast and had to move over to the gorge.. they were great, service was excellent considering an early arrival of 15 people. Food was fine, price point was good, the place was cold but it was early

Came down from the Midlands to see family in Kent. Met my son and his family for brunch in here. Very friendly staff, good atmosphere, food was delicious and great price. Highly recommended.

Perfect little cafe £3.80 for lite brekfast with was sausage, 2 bacon, egg, beans and toast couldn’t fault it at that price

Food is ALWAYS amazing and plentiful. This is also one of the few places that uses outstanding quality bacon and sausages. The waitresses are always wonderful and we love coming here. Plus, anyone who can deal with my overgrown child (aka my husband) deserves a medal

Excellent all round, first impressions walking in were very clean and well spaced. Staff were very welcoming and smart, our server took the time to chat with the 3 year old in our group and whilst taking direction from parents consulted with the little one over his choices. The menu was varied including vegetarian options and child meals. Only a short wait for our food which was very well presented, portion size was huge of the three adults none of us cleared our plates. The food was well cooked, hot and very tasty, extremely good value have paid much higher prices elsewhere. Overall a very enjoyable meal

Expensive!! Paid 17 for 2 breakfasts..waitress was rude and smelt like b.o Honestly! It was so disgusting I'm not sure how they're in business.

I’ve eaten here many times but never thought of giving it a review. Never had a bad experience nor a single complaint about the food & service. Extremely polite staff will take your order at the table & bring it to you & have no problem in changing the meal to suit you. Rapid service brings you delicious food at very competitive prices. I actually pass by 3 other cafes on my way here. 10/10 guys, thank you

We’re just visiting Ashford for the weekend and by chance we have arrived at the Gorge Cafe and had amazing omelette and quarter pounder burger. Highly recommended!

The food was horrible, the service was slow and took over 20 minutes just to get drinks. I would not recommend this café.

Service was poor and food was really greasy and parts where burnt and parts where under cooked. We where in there for 20 minutes before we got our drinks and it was just a orange juice and a normal coffee and then another 20 minutes for our food to arrive. Will not be returning.

I recently came across this cafe, and I must say it's a good old cafe, the food is spot on the staff are extremely friendly and I must say the toilets were spotless. i definitely recommend this cafe if you are nearby and looking for a fulfilling meal as i have been 5 more times since!

Not impressed. It’s been a few months but things have changed. For one it’s now colder outside but I needed a heavy coat indoors. Ok, it might be an idea by management to get the customers in and out quickly, but the cold won’t bring them back. Turn the heating up please. I actually started to lose the feeling in my fingers. I pity your staff. Secondly your music is too loud. Third, please change the batteries in your smoke alarm. They cost £1 down the market. Take it out of your petty cash to stop your customers from being annoyed by a high pitched beep every few minutes. Do you not walk around and check things? Do you not notice these things? Sort it out THE MINUTE you hear it, you hear it talked about or somebody mentions it to you. In fact before you open up have a walk around to check everything. Your toilets are freezing and your toilet roll dispenser can be unlocked as your toilet roll was on the nappy changing table, which means there is a chance of cross contamination. I also don’t see a check board that states when and who checked your toilets. They may be a ‘service’ to your clients but the minute you offer them you have health and safety regulations to adhere to. My fourth point is that one of your staff members is slightly challenged in the smarts department. We were delivered lukewarm tea and coffee with no sugar, and a tea bag still in the tea and no dish to put it in, I don’t want a cold teabag in my saucer. No sugar on the tables like there used to be. Is helping ourselves taking your profits away? Tut tut how selfish of us. We then had to wait 45 minutes for our meal. The table beside us complained after waiting for 30 minutes and they came in after us. While we were waiting the staff member gave us one fork, then another fork and a knife, then after half an hour another knife, then we got our food. The staff member broke a glass item beside us and ‘swept up’ leaving glass on the floor, which all staff then walked over, crunching as they went yet not being able to identify between the lot of them that there was glass underfoot. Imagine if a child put it in their mouth or somebody had slipped on it? It was a significant amount. I’ve worked as a food retail supervisor in a large outlet and I’d have noticed that immediately and made sure it was cleared up properly. We were always aware of a potential court case. The staff member in question dropped her tea towel into the glass on the floor when she was clearing it up yet continued to use it! This was shocking behaviour. Small glass fragments could have contaminated any food or drink item not to mention the general hygiene regulations. Do you take your staff through basic formal hygiene training? Whether there was glass or not it still hit the floor and the ‘five second rule’ only applies to children or did you miss that memo? The bread and butter smelt odd. Which item was off? My betting is on the butter. Even the ‘waitress’ smelt it and scrunched her nose up. The ‘fried bread’ was below par with no crunch and my sausage was unceremoniously dumped in a vat of cheap baked beans. We ordered our drinks and food. We expected to get both together. Instead we got our drinks a full 40 minutes before our food so we were forced to order more drinks. We ordered these though the ‘challenged’ ‘waitress’ and obviously the message didn’t get passed along. When attention was eventually drawn to it, it took a further ten minutes to get our drink by which time we didn’t want them. We left. I heard other complaints which included a member of staff coming to the till to apologise and tell the customer they didn’t have to pay for an item. Not the way to run a business. I loved this place. I’ve now been put off and will take my chances with the ping meals at the pub over the road next time, which is a great shame but at least it’s warmer. You make enough money on your food to turn the thermostat up a bit, or are you like other outlets...turn the heat down and get the punters through to make more profit at the cost of your reputation?

The breakfast is amazing cooked very well and at a great price. The staff are very friendly too. I love going there i even take my wife and kids.

Best brekkie in Ashford, come here everytime we're in town. Lovely cuppa, and they will do all they can to accommodate you.

Whilst we where shopping in Ashford we decided to have a breakfast so we decided to look for a cafe and we came across a lovely cafe called gorge The service was excellent our food arrived very quickly well presented and tasted as good as it looked

Nice typical breakfast grub. Fills the spot in my stomach. Service is nice and the staff are always friendly. Only thing that maybe needs updating is that the place doesn't take card payments, so you always have to have cash on you.

Food portions are reasonable. Nothing else really of note.

Changed ownership not good we used to go here regularly no more all the friendly staff gone sarch and ryan took over half a hour just to get ham egg and chips and over 10 minutes to get a drink which wasn't the best

A great cafe to come to, the staff are extremely friendly and considerate. The chef ( good looking I've been told) is out of this world, you get a good portion size which is good for value for money. There is plenty of friendly banter which is worth the experience. Would definitely recommend.

The food and atmosphere at this cafe is amazing and makes you feel right at home. To two british waitresses are the kindest people I have ever been served by. It's just ashame that they are overworked and treated unfairly by the boss of the place.

Food is okay quality. Some odd choices on the breakfast menu mean the 'Gorge' is actually the smallest menu option, the next one up ('Mega') isn't really a step up, but a step laterally. They need a 2 egg, 2 sausage, 2 bacon, fried slice, beans option.

Under new management and waited over 45 minutes for our dinner. Staff were not overly pleasant appare from the little waitress bless her. The owners friends came in after us ordered after us and got food before us !...your face fits or it don't. Highly disappointed from what this place used to be.
