We visited this little restaurant with high hopes, it looks amazing outside and inside. The staff were friendly and the menu seemed good. We ordered Thai Red and Thai Green Curry with Rice and other bits, unfortunately the Rice turned up in a steamer and inside the steamer was a bag of rice that had clearly just come out of the microwave and it was so overcooked it was like cardboard. We also know as we have had Thai before that it should be thin not like curry but it was ridiculously thin more like water, the flavours were ok, but you could tell by the rubbery chicken that it was not freshly cooked. We were very disappointed

We were greeted with a smile and told we could sit anywhere and menus were bought over, but then it took ages for the waitress to come and take our order to the point where I thought perhaps we were supposed to order at the bar. Once ordered we again had a long wait which is fine but the restaurant wasn’t busy and most had finished their meals. Our drinks never arrived. We were beginning to have the conversation ‘shall we just leave’. When the food did arrive we were asked if we wanted a drink, stated we had already ordered drinks with the waitress who took our order, she apologised and went and got them. We both had fish and chip, masses of chips but the portion size of the fish was very small, smallest I have ever had, I would have said it was a senior size portion. Having said that it was very nice, well cooked, I liked the batter and the chips were good. I had to go to the bar to ask for the tartar sauce which should have come with it. For over £17 I would have liked a slightly bigger portion of fish and the service was poor.

You’re by the sea and in your head you dream of a quaint fish restaurant serving delicious plates and great service looking at the waves rolling in…well you’ve found it. We were lucky enough to secure a table for Sunday lunch and watched the two chefs prepare the most delicious fresh calamari, sole with a shrimp butter sauce and scallop risotto. A must if you visit Hastings, for me a meal that will be remembered, just perfect. Thank you team Rock a Nore Kitchen

I love the TomYum soup! Love the spice level! Can’t remember the other two dishes we ordered but they both taste excellent. I got an impression that its a family run business so service is quite friendly here! I would recommend booking a table in advance because this restaurant gets super busy over the weekend and walk-in is impossible on a Friday or Saturday night.
