Ganges Lounge in Milton Keynes

Normally great food but on this occasion very poor, the massala sauce very runny and watery not sure if they have changed chefs perhaps.. Will leave it a while before I order again..

1st time there, for a group of 24 people for a 60th birthday, service good, help yourself buffet all dishes nice and tasty with plenty of meat, will definitely go back soon. 10/10

Always a really nice meal when either sitting in or takeaway. Had the buffet for the first time and a very good spread of choices. Definitely our go to for a curry!

Hands down the best in Milton Keynes. The food is excellent and fresh, but what makes it shine is the atmosphere. The guys are friendly and welcoming, it’s like having an excellent dinner at a friend’s house. We have been to many restaurants around MK but we always come back here and have a wonderful, relaxing and friendly meal. Couldn’t recommend it enough.

Had my 69th here and service was excellent with great food

Last minute I called for a table for 8 of us and they were really accommodating & tried their best managing to fit us in slightly later than we wanted. Really nice food with friendly service too. Would definitely return.

We decided to treat ourselves on Thursday this week and go out for a meal. This was our first time dining in at Cafe Ganges, and we were really happy with the food, service and the relaxed, friendly atmosphere in the restaurant. We had a take-away just over a month ago and the food then was equally as good. Highly recommended! Thank you!

Absolutely amazing! My first time here after friends recommendations and you can’t fault anything. We felt really welcome the second we came in, and shown to our table. Everything was really well timed, drinks then nibbles whilst looking through the menu. So much to choose from but I went for the lamb starter and duck for mains… sauce was so good with the duck. A big mention to the staff, they were so nice, always on hand if you needed them, so friendly. Thank you for your hospitality! Definitely the best Indian in Blechley I’ve had in 40 years in the town. Much love guys!

Group of 4 attending 14/10/2023 . Lovely staff , very polite couldn’t do enough for you but not over your shoulder every 5 minutes. Food very high standard and all arriving at the same time which is always a plus . Food portions were of plentiful sizes at very reasonable prices. Will definitely return and recommend. Easily the best Indian meal I have had in many years. I came alone on a Saturday night, but the friendly staff managed to find me a seat. The food arrive quickly and boy was it tasty. Food, service, everything really was simply fantastic. Highly recommended.

We travel the UK waterways on a narrowboat and regularly eat in the local indian restaurants, we ate here twice , once on the way down and once coming back up. The meals were one of the best we have had in all of our travels, one was a takeaway and the one tonight a Banquest Wednesday which was great value for money . The service was great attentive but not over the top and food tasty and good quality . I cannot recommend the restaurant highly enough if we were local I think we would be there an awful lot. A big thank-you to the Shaz and the staff who looked after us really well.

Very rarely will I leave a four fold 5 star review, but this is one plcae I could not fault.The staff were exemplary, not in your face , but ready to hand, they were friendly, and welcoming, and the food was mouthwatering. My son and his wife took us there on the 10th September, he was raving about the coconut shavings that accompany the popadoms, and I am gld they did. If in the area, or if visiting well worth eating here.

This place I found to be an amazing experience. All too often I am left disappointed with Indian restaurants, some bits are okay, others not so good, some food okay other bits not so much. But here I and my party left on a high. The food was stunning, from the popadoms, to the Onion Bhajis; the bombay aloo to the mixed grill, from the veg curry to the biriani, we could not find fault. Staff were professional , polite and friendly. I highly recommend. My son took us there as he is love with the coconut shavings which accompany the popodums.

I have nothing but regrets. Food quality used to be great but now abysmal. Don't do this to yourself. This place is over. Go elsewhere.

Really good service. Food has been top notch evertime we have been. We have always been part of a large party and dispite been chaotic with kids and big kids (adults) they have never messed up an order and food has been brought out promptly. To be honest can't fault the place. Would highly recommend.

Organised a birthday dinner here, staff where lovely, very good atmosphere and a good laugh with the staff, dinner came out lovely and within a reasonable time and pipimg hot, came to this restaurant alot in the past and can never ever fault the service, honestly if your looking for a lovely Indian dinner with a good attitude and amazing service I really recommend this place

We stopped here for dinner tonight and we were not disappointed. We have been a number of times before and we are always happy with the quality of the food. It is delicious and is a good price. What makes the place for me is that the staff are always so friendly, welcoming and helpful. I always feel completely at home there and they don't even mind the mess my 2 year old made (sorry about that). I would highly recommend a meal here.

Hardly any veg dishes like paneer for example , this is not a restaurant for people who want to eat closer to original taste of Indian dishes, paneer curry was soaked in sugar , maybe people here will eat but I wouldn’t recommend this place. Service was good though.

I'm unable to attend the restaurant, but if the food is anything to go by,then hats off to the chefs!! I was brought up in Birmingham and know a good curry when I taste one. I've tried several Indians all over the country and never rated any untill I tried Ganges Lounge! You Really Have to try them guys!!!

1st visit here and what a great meal, went on there banquet night 4 courses consisting of starter, main side and either rice or nan bread. Very tasty food well presented and served piping hot, the staff are very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant itself is nicely decorated, and being midweek it was very busy. I will be returning very soon, would definitely recommend this Indian restaurant but would suggest you book in advance.

First time back here in a long time (over a year), and it was like no time had past. It was busy with guests in the bar and restaurant area, but it felt like everything was in control, and we were soon shown to our table. The staff recognised us and asked about family and how we had been. Ali is a fantastic host, and everyone there seemed to be regulars or at least were treated a such by the staff. The food was fast and delicious, and they were able to cater for a vegan guest without any issues. We'll be back soon.

This was a jewel of a restaurant with one of the best curries l have ever had. The staff were very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. When in the area again they will definitely have my custom. If you are near give it a go.

Had a delivery from Ganges on Saturday,I have never tasted such a tasteless mushy mess with no heat or flavour and my partner's dish was just the same by far the worst curries we have ever eaten.

Tried several Indian restaurants and alway go back to this one. The price is reasonable, Compare to other Restaurants/takeaways with a good potion from all the dishes. My recommendation for those who like a selection dishes, go for the Thali.

Popped in for a quick meal with my lady and we had a great time. The food was first rate.

We were supposed to be going th the Plough in Simpson but the chef was ill so the barman recommended the Ganges Lounge and we were not disappointed the food was amazing, the staff were fantastic and all in all we had a thoroughly enjoyable night! I would have no hesitation in recommending this restaurant for the food and service brilliant!

best food in the whole entire world

This is my favourite restaurant in MK. Always great food and the usual good service with a slice of banter from Ali. Raju always sorts us out with a never tried before dish that somehow is better than the last. Then Shaz at the front of house always looking after all his guests / customers. You won’t be disappointed if your trying it for the first time, and if you do I guarantee you will be be back.

I have been coming to here for around 10 years now!!! Of course I have tried different restaurants but I can't stress how consistent and beautiful their food is !!! The staff are superb! Shaz and all the staff welcome you evertime with open arms and will do there upmost best to make your experience as best as it possibly can! This is not food related. I would like to say a massive thank you to Raj and his brother for helping me last night. My car had broke down as I entered a roundabout in Bletchley. My front wheel had come off collapsing the front of my car. It could not be moved. The rain was hammering it down and my phone was not working. Raj stopped as he was driving by he asked if he could help, which I gladly accepted. He let me use his phone to call RAC and I sat with him as the police arrived to secure the area I thanked Raj then he went on his way. In the confusion I left my phone in his car. I told the police and left for the restaurant which was a two minute walk away. Raj was not there he had finished for the night. However after explaining my dilemma to Raj brother he also helped. He called Raj and gave me water to calm me as he could see I was wet cold and anxious. Anyway Raj came back and found phone. As I say not food related.. I just wanted to say thank you once again to Raj his brother for their empathy support and showing true care. Amazing gentleman that really helped me. If the food there is a amazing as them, you will have an enjoyable time. Thank you Ganges Lounge. 👍😊

This is a great little restaurant. The food and the service is always very good. They offer a Banquet Menu on a Wednesday night which is definitely value for money. The main menu is varied so there is something for everyone and if you're not sure what your ordering they will explain everything to you. The food is tasty and plentiful. I don't think we've ever completed a meal and have always gone out with a doggy bag. The staff are always welcoming and will chat happily with you if they're not too busy. Don't go anywhere else until you've tried Ganges Lounge. You won't be disappointed

Had an absolutely beautiful meal last night in the Ganges. I would really recommend this restaurant Starters chicken, gulbahar & chilli special Mains mushroom rice garlic & coriander nan Lamb tikka patia and chicken tikka Ganges special really really tasty

Now I know why every single time I walk along this restaurant it is always very busy and has a long queue! It's absolutely amazing!. If you like spice or you like Indian food, this is the right place. Beautiful decorated food, it is absolutely delicious, I wanted more! With great decor, it's super clean, neat and the staff is super attentive, friendly, polite, helpful. Sometimes you find not that friendly staff in some restaurants, but I was delighted that this place has excellent staff. You can make a reservation or you can pop in and see if you are lucky and have a table quickly. As I mentioned before, most of the time there is a long queu to get in but believe me it's worth the waiting. Overall fantastic restaurant and guaranteed to have great food.

This review is from Jan 2021. Waiters are great, have been here a few times, but the last time was for a takeaway at 6pm and it was cold!!!! Couldn't be bothered to complain once home so voted with my feet, because there is an abundance of other suitable Indian takeaways in the close vicinity.

Ordered our first takeaway from this restaurant this evening, and we will definitely be ordering again, it was first class. Absolutely delicious. We had a chicken Bhuna and a chicken makhani with pilau rice and two different naans. All were excellent.

Just had our first ‘lockdown takeaway’ from here, can’t fault it, really nice flavours of food, good value and definitely be coming back . Only managed to eat 1/2 my Naan bread as my 18month old stole the rest of my plate !
