The best restaurants in South East

Reviews are accurate. Excellent portions, good price and great service we received. I rarely order a bolognese outside of home but they have nailed it. The scallop special was really good too. Would definitely come back

I've known this restaurant for 22 years over which time the food has varied between good and great. I visited in September 2024 and am delighted to report that although they have a slightly reduced number of tables from a few years ago, the food is at it's absolute best (praise indeed for a Thai restaurant!) My partner and I had the Ceria Meal for two which comprised three courses and three mains for the main course. Fantastic value when compared to pubs locally who seem to think it acceptable to charge £15-20 for a main course and then charge extra for side-dishes ....

We popped in here on a Monday evening assuming it would be fairly quiet - we were wrong and later could see why! We had not prebooked but luckily they had a few tables free for walk-ins. The restaurant was very busy but had a great vibe. We ordered a Garlic Bread with Cheese to start which was devine! I ordered Ravioli for Main and my son ordered a pizza. Again both of these dishes were delicious. Although the restaurant was busy, the service was great and the staff were friendly and helpful. This place is busy because it is sooo good and one of the best places to eat in Shanklin. We will definitely return here when we next visit. Well done Amici - you are doing a fantastic job :)

Fabulous little restaurant at first floor level with a wonderful terrace overlooking the Solent. Food especially the seafood is truly delicious. Staff are very nice and helpful. Couldn't recommend enough. Though n.b. it's just by the ferry dock so every hour or so there's a little bit of noise when the ferry loads/unloads. Just a heads up the steps up to it are a little steep (though good handrails) and the WCs are similarly down a staircase to the ground floor internally.

Very friendly local with great staff and good selection of beer and wines. Dog and child friendly, great outdoor seating when warm enough.

I arrived not knowing the restaurant was closing in 10mins but, the waitress was lovely and without any hesitation let me know I wouldn’t be kicked out at 3pm or take-away only and was nicely told I could continue eating after 3pm and just leave whenever I had finished. The chicken curry was so bloody good. The sauce had a delicious velvetiness and the chicken was cooked just right. The whole dish was exactly what I needed. Definitely a 10/10 restaurant and 11/10 for the staff.

Fish was dry, seemed to be over cooked. Chips was terrible the whole order seemed to have been reheated from the lunchtime it is a shame as I have always had really good food from here, because of this I won’t be using them again.☹️

Went there tonight for a date night and had a fantastic meal

Stayed at The Selsey Arms for two nights. Very clean and spacious rooms. Beautiful location with a bus stop right at the pub. Solid breakfast. Helpful staff. Very comfortable. Highly recommended.
