Cafe Atlantic in The Vale of Glamorgan

Great little cafe! Does a great breakfast, and the staff are very friendly and VERY helpful: We got unexpectedly called out while waiting for our breakfast to be dished up, had to run and leave our drinks and everything. But they were really kind and gave us a fresh breakfast and drinks on our eventual return, all gratis. We were so grateful. Will definitely be back again!

Excellent breakfast, reasonable price. Lovely staff always happy and ready to chat as they work. Especially good with our little grandson who thinks you're all amazing.

Really nice sandwiches both hot and cold. The bacon used is both thick and not full of fat and the sausages taste good too. The reason that I use Cafe Atlantic that apart from what I have previously said, extra care is taken to put cold items seperate to hot so that you don't have a problem when your food arrives as you do with some other shops. 👏👏

Lovely cheese and cheese salad sandwiches that were really full of ingredients and very tasty too. Atlantic Cafe's prices are very reasonable and we will definitely be using this takeaway again or if we are out and about we'll call in for lunch as their breakfasts are extremely the best. ( :

Tried it this morning, not one of the best but thee best full breakfast I had, unbelievable fast service and £14.95 for full breakfast and normal breakfast with tea and coffee very highly recommended

Atlantic Cafe is great to use both as a takeaway and to visit for a meal on site. The food is always top notch, (I.e. the bacon is not fatty or thin etc), the food is cooked properly and you don't pay over the odds for it. I recommend this cafe to friends as I know it's good.

As a lorry driver see a lot of cafes and this one is in the top ten great food small detail but real butter and not butter substitute says a lot about the place highly recommend a visit

The food is always lovely and the prices are very reasonable. My husband loves their cheese salad sandwiches. I'd definitely recommend to others.

unfortunately there were tomatoes on the breakfast when I put in notes "please don't put tomatoes on breakfast" as I've done before with previous orders. So threw it away. shame

it took 20 minutes from my notification to say it was on its way to get here the contents were on there side so all the juice from the beans were everywhere and it was cold

To be honest I’d rather go hungry than have food here again, eaten from here multiple times and don’t think I’ve ever had anything that was nice. It’s all the cheapest of the cheap and greasiest of the grease. Soggy oil ridden potato slices make me feel sick looking at them. You leave here smelling like absolute lard.

Atlantic Café in Barry has a reputation as a classic greasy spoon – popular among locals for its hearty breakfasts, builders’ tea, and big plates that promise to keep you full for hours. Unfortunately, my experience there fell far short of the café’s reputation. Right from the start, the service was disappointingly slow, with a 35-40 minute wait for food. During that time, other customers who arrived well after us were served first, which left us feeling overlooked and frustrated. The cutlery and teacup provided were noticeably dirty, which was off-putting. Adding to the discomfort, there was loud shouting and singing coming from the kitchen, which even led some customers to call out for the staff to tone it down. This atmosphere made the experience feel more about the staff than about the customers, and I felt out of place and uncomfortable throughout my visit. Adding to the chaos, the server was audibly complaining about their early start and workload, creating an atmosphere that was anything but inviting. The walls, too, weren’t well maintained, with food splatters visibly marking them. I wasn’t expecting fine dining, but I did hope for a clean, calm environment with friendly service and good, honest food. When my meal finally arrived, my jacket potato was missing its promised salad, which only added to the overall disappointment. I had hoped for a positive experience, but sadly, from start to finish, it was a letdown.

Paid extra for pre order, app said food was ready to collect but food was not ready when I arrived and i had to wait 5 min. So it's pointless pre ordering.

Food still nice, but pre ordered food to avoid que, charged 50p for that but still had to wait. Very disappointing 😞

Lovely food good quality and lots of it. Everyone enjoyed even the first eaters . Even gave the little one a bag of sweets as we left .

The breakfast was tasty however what I didn’t enjoy was the stuffiness inside There wasn’t any windows open, you could see the smoke in the room it was thick we came out smelling like we’d been cooking

Food was alright but delivery driver was too lazy to get out of his car, so had to leave my flat and pick it up. What a joke, won’t be coming back here I’m afraid.

More then happy with my order it was lovely and HOT . Took 15mins from when I placed the order just what I needed after a 12hr flight I had the beef madras curry half n half the meat was falling apart .I will definitely be ordering from here again for sure

Options are either sandwich or baguette. A baguette being (please see definition) a crusty elongated bread. We were sent soft rolls instead of a baguette that were on the stale side and margarine was used - not sure why in this day and age margarine is used. If butter costs too much, just increase the price. Margarine is awful.

First time going. Bacon was over cooked black. Dippy eggs weren't dippy they were hard. Had a hair on the plate. Tomatoes cold. Black pudding yuk all that was cooked was the outside of it. I will stick with the fountain. Became quite busy

Ordered a omlette salad and chips took 30mins to b given to me because they were more interested in the uber deliveries and it was revolting!! the chips were soggy and undercooked, the omlette just come in a massive ball burnt on the outside and sloshy in the middle and had no salad will never go there again was shocking!!

The sausage and bacon baguette came in a roll rather than a baguette with brown sauce which wasn't requested. Brown sauce was only requested on the sausage, egg and bacon sandwich and the breakfast baguette.

Half my order was missing and I couldn't even ring the cafe as number out of order

My delivery was out in the car for 25 minutes which in turn made my food cold. Plus i didnt get my complete order. I was missing my drink

Terrible service. Ordered three meals and two drinks. Drinks were missing. Fried bread was missing. All three meals had items missing and incorrect items. Tried to get hold of cafe but landline was no longer working and mobile number was going to answerphone. Left a message but no response. They even had cheek to congratulate themselves as the order arrived early! I would have preferred the order to be correct and on time!!!

Good value breakfast, friendly staff. Everything was boiling hot including the large mug of tea. Sausages used were cheap but then at £7.45 for a medium breakfast including tea very good value. Will have to try lunch one day.

Food is great, staff are polite as ever and helpful, wait times are very fair, prices are very good considering the inflation, and the atmosphere is great and set to the style of a 50s diner. Honestly can't recommend this place enough. I've had the large breakfast over 30 times and each time it has been great. Also a nice touch is that they will swap out any item you don't like.

Fish, chips, mushy peas, tea bread and butter cooked to order, delivered freshly cooked and hot to the table and a wide range of condiments made available. Staff friendly and helpful, even though place was busy, all round excellent value for money.
