Now called the Curry Leaf.
We enjoy a takeaway a once or twice a month and decided to try somewhere we've not been before.
The meal that we ordered for collection was ready on time - and after that it all went downhill.
The poppodoms were soft and very stale.
The butter naan was small and doughy.
My husband chose the Curry Leaf Special described as a 'surf and turf delight'. For £14.50, he had a dry and tasteless dish with a small amount of shredded meat and some very small frozen prawns, definitely not king prawns as advertised. He only managed to eat half which was just as well because he felt quite ill afterwards.
The chicken in my rogan was well cooked but there were only five pieces in the whole dish which was quite salty.
In all, a very disappointing experience and a restaurant that we won't be frequenting again.
My go to takeaway. I've tried all the Indian takeaway and restaurants locally over the years, but Bengal Spice is by far the best. The food is always hot, full of flavour and plenty of choice. Excellent
Went for lunch with friends on a Saturday and although it was very busy there are a lot of tables with a steady turnaround so we managed to get a table very quickly. The system is to order at the counter then food and drinks are delivered to the table via an electronic tag that they give you at the counter, which is very efficient. Two of us ordered sandwiches and two jacket potatoes and the portions were ample and the food tasty. The only minor negative points I have is that the drinks arrived quite a while before the food so our teas were cold before the food arrived, but in hindsight I suppose that we could have asked for them all to be delivered at the same time. Also all sandwiches included fries in the price and we would have preferred the choice of just a sandwich with the option to add fries if required. All in all though a nice lunch at a reasonable price.

Won’t go anywhere else. I travel 10 miles to get their food.
Good size potions really tasty food. The Chinese food I sampled was excellent. Serving Staff really Friendly and helpful.
Really good value.
Great food, freshly cooked to order, with friendly service. Chef even managed to find pineapple for my daughter's gammon, instead of an egg. How about that for great service?
We had a rather mixed visit here. Lovely setting, clean and welcoming. Top quality food. But the service was mixed which rather affected the pleasure of the visit. First, it is a very small menu. The server did not tell us that some items were not available until after we ordered. The joy of eating out is to chose and anticipate the meal. We like to chose starter and main that will flow well, and choose wine accordingly. So when we were informed after ordering that some items were not available, this was the first hurdle.
Then we ordered a French wine, and without any comment, a bottle of Chilean wine was brought. We had to query this.
Even worse when a second glass was ordered, it happened again, Chilean was brought again, despite checking with the server whether it really was the wine ordered. (It wasn't) So this had to be queried again.
The bill was also incorrect.
Whilst everyone was polite, this had the affect of putting us on edge, having to check everything, and left me feeling like a whingy customer. It's a shame for the chefs because the food really was special, and had the server and bar staff been up to that standard it would have been an amazing experience.
