Romsey Kebab House in Test Valley

30mins before they shut at 11 and they’d already cleaned up. Was told No donor kebab available.considering it’s the only kebab shop in Romsey I wasn’t happy. Had to go to dominos for something to eat.

On my first visit here and I found the staff very helpful and welcoming. The food was perfectly edible, but it was also very mediocre. I would eat from here again, although I would try something different. Also, as much as they will take payment from cards, there is a big sign encouraging payment from cash only. I felt uncomfortable when I needed to use a card, as I had no cash with me. I can't highly recommend this place, but I will be going back at some point in the future.

Food always fantastic and made my first order for delivery today and it arrived 8 mins after ordering it. Food was piping hot and exactly what I asked for down to the specific sauces and salad on the burger. Thanks guys

The food is what you'd expect from a Kebab shop, cooked swiftly and served with a warm smile. It's our go-to place for a quick cheap takeaway. 5 stars

Unfortunately we received my kebab without any chilli sauce and my wife received her kebab without any garlic sauce, so I would suggest that when you pick up your food check it to make sure the staff have followed your instructions. Unfortunately the lack of the chilli sauce completely spoilt my food, it was the worce kebab I've had in ages, kebab is just not right without chilli sauce. Way too bland without chilli sauce, maybe the staff will make sure this doesn't happen to any customers in the future.

The most awful lamb kebab I have ever had-the meat was so tough and chewy I gave it to the dogs-basically we paid £8.85 for a few stands of edible lettuce! Avoid!

Just got a take away and the lamb shish was completely inedible. Fatty and stringy so most of it got left! Very disappointed

This is a takeaway diner, no seats available. You have to wait on foot for an order near to trash bin. The chicken was not fresh with a bad smell. I have to dispose of the entire order.

Most these lot on here don’t know what they’re talking about. OR maybe have had one bad experience and obviously will express their feelings. But easily had 20/30/40 Shisha wraps from here and the gents are always accommodating, friendly and the food is always A1. Just tell them what you want, and you get it. Simple as that (it’s not hard). Always a good experience and highly recommend. 🥊

Went in and got a medium chicken Shish with all salad and sauces, once got home and went to tuck in, only salad in the Shish was lettuce and onion when do you have a kebab with only that 😂 poor that’s enough said really hopefully you take not of this and can adapt to 2023

I always enjoy their doner meat and chips. In fact they really nailed the chips tonight.

Was the worst kebab ive ever eaten dry bland and if you want coleslaw it's an extra £1 really? Don't waste your money and be disappointed.as you can see from their response that basically says it all. Amazing customer service it's on par with the kebab. I say no more

The kebabs and the service here are really good...

Chicken kebab is not good at all, went in the bin. ts covered in a yellow powder spice mix and pan fried rather than grilled. Dry and stringy. Pitta bread wasn't fresh. Doner kebab was ok but wouldn't get again. Customer service is good though!

Because this is the only take away kebab shop in the area they think they can get away with poor service and quality of food, the salad now only consists of onion, letting or a unappealing cabage. They also don't take card payments New post Its been three years and they don't learn, I ordered 1 chicken kebab, 1 lamb kebab when we got home both kebabs were lamb, I tried ringing the shop three times no answer, we may leave it another three years

Just avoid - No grill, everything is fried. Hands down the worst kebab I have ever, ever had. Chicken was barely cooked, only got some iceberg and a few onions. Terrible and awful waste of money! Will never recommend, it was paltry.

Very poor quality food. Bland and not cooked properly. Had to take my Donner meat back to be cooked properly. Chilli sauce was like heinz tomato soup.

Very greecy, poor quality meat, the lamb sheesh was basically gristle 🤮. Pitta breads were stale. Very disappointed, won't be returning.

Good happy staff but Donner is not cooked enough and chilli sauce tast nothing like it should be it's ok for fast late food after a night on the beer but I wouldn't get it any other time I stay with Hasan,s van up the road

Have been here a few times as its the local shop with no others within reasonable distance. Not again though. The staff are always friendly but the food is below average. Very bland meat, fries always soggy instead of crispy. Last night i asked for full salad and got a mountain of just lettuce and onion. Do yourself a favour.

Brilliant service here and great staff. Some time ago I ordered a donner and chicken combination kebab but when I got home (only around the corner) I realised it was missing chicken. I returned and the staff was happy to make me a fresh one and gave me a free bottle of drink as way of apology. Also they kept the original kebab warm for me whilst I waited for the fresh one so in the end I left with two kebabs. Very happy and the food is great

Overpriced kebabs. Watery chilli sauce. Boring salad. No option of extra chillies. They don't even bother to fill the kebab properly..its all thrown in a box. Staff disinterested. Poor all around. Pity, this place used to be good......not anymore.

Popped in for couple of kebabs, been before at weekends was ok. Last night pitta stale dry, salad well just cabbage and lettuce. Chilli sauce bland tasteless. Meat cold!! They only take cash, I wonder why always suspicious of these companies!!

We were totally unimpressed with this venue. On our first ever visit (having recently moved to the area and keen to try the local haunts), the staff hardly greeted us and had an air of complacency about them. We waited forever and the chicken kebab was flavourless and soggy. We will never return to this place and have since taken our kebab custom elsewhere, time after time. This one bad experience put us off completely. Maybe the staff were having an off day, maybe they weren't... fortunately we''ll never know :-)

With a 5 star food hygiene on the door, this is a good start. The food was very nice, we had a mixed platter of everything. 16 quid was a lot if money but there was more than enough to go around. All tasted freash

Really good to have such a takeaway in Romsey but after the 3rd not so good Kebab you need to take more care. When you 1st opened the Pita Bread was soft and tasty now it is like cardboard. The fries are undercooked it just takes a little extra in the fryer it seems they just do not care any more. Not sure if they have changed supplier but even the onion and coleslaw is tasteless. On the plus side the meat and chilli sauce is still very good.Will visit again please bring it back to where you belong and I will be happy to give you 5*

Very nice take away which is reliable and quick with orders. Food itself is good. Kebabs v nice as are pizzas. Staff don’t often look happy but they work well together and keep the place clean

I really love this kebab shop which is bad because I’m trying to eat healthily!I eat the grilled chicken salad, not sure why they call it a chicken kebab? Stupid name for it I love how friendly the staff are although it’s a bit embarrassing that they recognise my husbands voice when he calls. That’s why we had to cut down! Anyway, nice food, quite affordable and really friendly staff.I’ve only given four stars as they’ve stopped taking card payments and it’s a bit annoying in this day and age.

I used to use this kebab house every two weeks and spend at least £15 but recently went to get a XL doner and asked for the salad separate ,when he went to fill a normal 4.80 medium doner small salad carton i said i would like a XL salad as i was paying £7.50 but he told me i could not as its all the same whitch annoyed me so then i asked for a extra small carton of salad but when i went to the till and he tried charging me £2 for i said not to bother and as i walked out told them they wont be seeing me again: YOU HAVE JUST LOST A CUSTOMER , ALSO JUST BITTEN INTO SOME OF THE MEAT AND ALMOST BROKEN A TOOTH ON SOME BONE ,you wont be seeing me again

As kebab houses go this is pretty good. Serve kofti kebab. Food is good for price eat here regularly. Staff friendly.

This is an excellent place to buy a quality kebab, and I have ordered by phone and arrived 15 min later and its ready to collect. I would say the range of choices is very good, however at some point in the past tomatoes were removed from the salad, which I do understand as there is a potential for some wastage, but for me the tomato complimented the meal. Also there used to be an option to order a large chicken and shish mixed kebab, but alas this is no longer an option. It's funny how one sticks to habit and when you can no longer have something, you end up wanting it more!Overall rating of 3 is harsh but I miss my options, hence the score. However despite this I will continue to order from here.

Came here tonight for the first time. Won't come back. I don't mind an unhealthy and expensive kebab if it tastes nice. This really didn't. Fatty, rubbery meat. Cheap supermarket frozen chips, not even cooked properly. Staff completely vacant. "Hello," I said as I walked through the door. No response. Just looked at me blankly. Took my order and then went straight to his phone to text away. The other two behind the counter were texting away on their phones too. Maybe they were texting each other? I pointed out the eye of horus over their door in a vain attempt at conversation - the eye of horus is an ancient Egyptian symbol to ward away evil. They didn't even know what it was. When I explained, they didn't seem to care. As for the food? It's sitting heavily in my tummy right now as I ate it because it cost me a lot of money and I was hungry. Now I wish I had a stomach pump. We won't come back.

The house special deal is a good option for sharing, offering a selection of meats and a large bottle of drink too. The food tastes great and was ready after ten minutes of ordering over the phone. The cost was very reasonable, and the leftovers were still good for the next day after just storing it all in the fridge overnight. The only annoyance is that they don't deliver anymore..

You must have cash! I ordered my kebab and my sons nuggets, went to the bank. Didn't give me any money!!! Went to apologise. Given the kebab and nuggets and 2 cans of coke and they requested I return with the money when I had it!!! Generous people and delicious food. Not going to go to any other place for my kebabs. Been back since, kind , friendly reception and once again the kebab!!! Very thinly sliced meat. Chilli sauce and real chill kid just right with plenty of salad and mayo. YUM
