Zenith Fish Bar in Test Valley

Not coming here again my chips was okay, my partners chips were horrible, left a dirty taste in mouth. The batter sausage and cod was soggy should be crispy. Curry sauce was really watery, won't recommend.

Stopped at the shop after a visit to the hospital to see a relative. Decided to have fish (cod) and chips x 2. There was no taste to the chips and fish was all batter so only did eat half of the portions...... arrived home started feeling unwell both having stomach cramps and both of us were sick then up during the night being sick and upset stomachs. Our friend who was with us didn’t eat any food from the establishment and was perfectly fine. So never again. Response to your message - I did phone the shop to be told the manager is not in and no one else could help.

We usually go to the Smart Fish bar at East Anton but after ignoring my phone call three times I called Zenith Fish bar. The lady who answered my call was friendly and efficient. We collected our order of haddock, chips and a cod roe and are delighted to report that everything was well cooked and tasty. It was also slightly larger portions and better value for money. Sorry, Smart Fish bar you have lost a regular customer. Well done Zenith, we will use you in future.

Very nice play to get fish and chips. You can get a kids fish and chips for £5 I think it's a bargin because you get quite a lot in the box. Very happy. Food is always cooked nice and not dry.

Turned up just before closing but staff still happy to freshly cooked my fishcake. Yummy

We were very lucky we visited just as it was closing before 22:00. The shop owner was very accommodating and gave us a good deal on what was left on the serving counter. Providing a nice volume of chips and a couple of extras free over what we ordered. I certainly can't complain and really enjoyed them when we got home. Great chipshop, good food and well worth a visit.

Shocked to see the bad reviews, we've gone here at least once a month for many years and have not noticed any deterioration in quality. Still the best fish and chips in Andover.

Really disappointing. Ended up throwing it in the bin. The chips tasted like they'd been sitting there since the previous day. The fish didn't seem fresh.

Probably the worst portion of fish & chips I've ever had, chips were dry & hard , fish was all shrivelled up & dry. Zenith used to be an excellent fish & chips shop won't be going there again. Threw most of the chips away @ £9.20 total waste of money.

Edit: came back, staff were lovely and nice portions, tasty. Came here yesterday around 17:50pm, was awaiting in the Que and the lady server looked straight passed me, and started taking those behind me order. I literally just stood there and was like ? And she gave me a dirty look and walked off. Not sure if she knew these, or what but absolutely shocking customer service treatment. So can’t actually comment on the food, as I didn’t get as far to actually order. Hopefully this lady was just having an off day. Maybe I will try again in a few months, it’s a shame as we have always wanted to try from here.

Food 80% of the time is nice, but the portion sizes differ massively. A large one time is so different to the next. Can also get very pricy quickly. Staff are friendly enough- overall I good fish and chip shop.

Would’ve put zero if possible, absolutely awful. Lady here threw fish at my 2 year old son. Do not come to zenith fish bar.

Ordered a large fish and chips. Fish was tiny, barely anything on it. Every other chippy in the town will have a small cod bigger than this. Wish I had gone elsewhere.

We were looking forward to this all day so went at 16.25 only 2 people in front of me but we got home and were really disappointed as the cod and sausage in batter had all been re-cooked. Batter was very greasy and rock hard. What a waste of £25.50 especially as I thought I wouldn’t cook tonight as being Easter weekend 😩 I have asked for freshly cooked cod before and I wished I had asked this time. There was only a young girl serving and the normal guy cooking. What has happened it used to be really good 🤔

I don't understand where it all went wrong, this used to be such a nice takeaway. I had fish and chips on my birthday, but spent the rest of the night in the bathroom as the fish was dodgy. not nice.

We have been going to Zenith Fish Bar for many years. They serve excellent fish and chips and have always been very consistent. Their spring rolls are also delicious. Just wish they were open lunch time

Not happy with the fish chips sausage in batter , the whole lot was cold not freshly cooked. Cost £12 alot of money for cold .food.

Been getting our fish and chips from Zenith ever since we moved to Andover nearly 30 years ago. Always great food and reasonable prices!

Great staff and food cooked fresh. Has been my go to chippy for 20 years now, staff always friendly. In the last few years the batter is even better, crispy and light. Keep up the good work!

Lovely sausages and good portions

Haven't been here for a little while. And i won't be going back it's gone down hill. Very expensive witch i wouldn't mind if the food was nice. Shame it used to be so good. Fish was very greasy and chips were well over done if i didn't no better i would say they were reheated from lunch time. Not happy at all.

Zenith Fish Bar is the best fish and chips in Andover by far. The fish is always fresh and crispy, and the chips are perfectly cooked. The prices are very reasonable, and the service is friendly and efficient. I highly recommend Zenith Fish Bar for your chippy tea fix.

Great fish and chips, portions are quite large so order fewer portions of chips than you have people to eat them. A regular portion of chips here is what I would call 2 small portions or 1.5 large portions.

Not a single Chrispy chip in a large portion of. Even if the cook got it wrong you would think the serving staff would have rejected them.

I don't now if it is just me being from SCOTLAND I just can't get a good chip in andover but now I'm I am going to swallow my words as this place has improved there chip's highly recommend but a slight problem is with the fish skin left at the bottom and slightly greasy but the flavour is good 👍🏻

Disappointing. Dry empty chicken burger. Sausages weren't fresh, probably been sitting for a long time. Chips were alright though.

This is the second best fish shop I’ve ever eaten at in the UK. The first being in Wolverhampton, so bit of a trek. I mean, who even wants to go to Wolverhampton? Anyway, Zenith has solid chips and tasty fish! What more can I say? Lovey. Coming back here again and again next time I’m in Andover.

Most dry and least appetising burger I've ever tasted. The Zenith Fish Bar in Andover refused to sell me a half pounder, but would sell me 2 quarter pounders and put them in the same bun. It was dry, tasted of awful processed meat, and was like the sort of patty, you would joke, that only contains 12% beef and even that's the hooves. (I'm sure it doesn't, this bit is a simile, not fact) I asked for chicken wings because a pricelist on the front door had 'wing' on it, and I got a breast on the bone. It was bland and the skin was soggy. I was served by an extremely pleasant lady, friendly and happy, but clearly that's figuratively beaten out of you after time, because she seemed new and everyone else in there was miserable as sin. It was incredibly busy though, and there was a lot of pressure to turn orders over quickly. It has a monopoly because it's the only chippy in close proximity, but if there was a choice, I would recommend using the other one.

You are always guaranteed a very tasty, affordable fish and chips at Zenith. Decent size portions, with everything on the menu that you'd normally expect to see at a chippy. Staff are friendly and service is swift.

Probably the best portion of fish & chips I've had in a very long time & I'm fussy about my fish & chips. It's worth going out of your way a bit to visit zenith fish bar. The batter was golden in colour my chips were not dry slightly soggy, how they should be. Nice & clean in there. Helpful ladies.

Always great food and staff are friendly and helpful. It's easy to place phone orders for collection to avoid queues.

Great food! I had one of the nicest spring rolls. Large portions. We descended on them with 20 hungry scouts to feed. They are very friendly and my scouts had nothing bad to say.

Really good service and the food is tasty

I hadn't had a takeaway since before the pandemic. However we had a fish and chip supper from Zenith a couple of weeks ago. The food was delicious, well cooked, reasonably priced and was just how I remember it. The fact that only a few people were allowed inside and that it was one of the few fish and chip shops places where everyone working here was wearing a mask really put my mind at ease.

Quick service, pleasure staff and great food

This was my parents go to chippy when I was a kid. My husband fancied fish and chips so I thought of Zenith, glad I did the food was just as good as I remembered. ☺️

The photo of a cheese burger will do all the talking needed here.This used to be half decent but now it’s just in a league of its own. Not in a good way either. The deep fried solid burger may have a use for air hockey?

Fantastic fish and chips. Can't recommend it enough.

I went and got large cod and chips on Tuesday 16th evening and for the second time recently the fish was over battered and was thick, soggy and stodgy. Chips also wasn’t great very soggy as well and didn’t seemed cooked enough. Defo was not worth the price of £7.75 and I won’t be going back again, shame but lately the food is not up to scratch and depends imo who’s cooking the night you go in. Staff always friendly though.

I am a regular customer but last nights fish and chips were the worst I have ever had from zenith the batter was so thick and over cooked it shattered when you tried to cut into it. Minute piece of fish inside chips were soggy threw most of our meal away. Time to find somewhere else

Quality of food has been very hit and miss for some time now. Chips are more often than not undercooked, yellow and anaemic. Collected an order recently which was only just warm enough to eat. After years of using this chippie, very disappointed in the deterioration of service and have decided not to use again in the future.

I have been going here for years and never had any reason to complain. Always great food and reasonably priced. Would definitely recommend for a nice portion of very tasty fish&Chips.

The best Fish and Chips in Andover and area. People travel and queue for the fish and chips in this establishment. Can understand why, excellent service, quick and efficient, top rate produce and plenty of it.

We use this fish shop occasionally and tonight they were excellent;COVID control was satisfactory, only 4 people allowed in at one time. 2 REGULAR FISH AND ONE PORTION OF CHIPS WAS MORE THAN REQUIRED.

When you pay for a large its a large its as simple as that and where the hell was the salt and vinegar that I ordered with it. Terrible miserable staff.
