The best restaurants in North West

The early bird 3 course menu is £17.50. For starter, I was going to go for the Thai fish cake, but at the last minute I changed my mind and foolishy opted for the Malay paper chicken. Out come these things that look like spring rolls, only for the waitress to say 'you can't eat the paper', so I sat there digging out small bits of chicken which gets dipped in the hoi sin sauce. For main I ordered the Malay fried rice. Again I was disappointed when my plate arrived and it was pretty much an upside down ball of egg rice with a few prawns and bits of chicken. No flavour whatsoever and very very dry. Dessert is either a banana fritter or ice cream. Everyone else in our party thought the food was nice (hence the 3 stars), however, I can only go by what I had. And the John Smiths bitter that was on the drinks menu is incorrect, they only have one draught beer, Carling. The staff (of which there were many) were attentive, but I think the Peacock Chinese is nicer and better value on a Sunday afternoon.

Fantastic pub... Off the beaten track... Well worth the visit.... Danny and Jo are great hosts and the staff are brilliant. Clientele are great too.

Closing down soon. Unfortunately another country pub will close down on 30th June 2024. Staff were good and doing their best in the circumstances.

Friendly staff, quick service and quality food very busy but they squeezed us in.

Takaway - Starter, prawn chat was very salty. Naan was dry and crumbly obviously not fresh. Currys were Luke warm and not very spicy. Had much better takeaways from here before. Disappointed today

Us two have just eaten at this little gem .. often had a drink outside but never Brno inside it’s amazing very welcoming good atmosphere Food excellent and great portions Staff are very attentive and really friendly happy to chat… would definitely recommend this gem as arnie says” l will be back “👍

This place is amazing for breakfast and lunch, family favourite of ours, if you do go I recommend the salt and pepper chicken wrap. Girls are lovely in there and welcome everyone. Honestly my favourite place in Wallasey to eat.

Staff so kind with mum with dementia log fire lit n warm, Sunday roast incredible, fish n chips beautiful,all was great and a good Ale!

Disappointed at the small portion of ribs (2). Food is lovely but can’t justify the cost for such small portions. Then made worse by being 30 minutes late
