Regular visitor with my wife and friends. Without a doubt, the best around.

Very consistent, excellent customer service and food. Food is authentic and more along the lines of something you would get at somewhere like Mowgli, except the curries are much better!

We went with a big party (32) and everything was great, food, service and staff great. A really different menu from the standard Indian restaurant as it focuses on the south of India. A good range of fish and vegetarian dishes available.

If you want realy fantastic food at very reasonable prices served by a really nice friendly hostess then the thira is for you a really great proper traditional menu and cooked to perfection were sat here writing this review as we're eating our main course a lovely prawn biriyani and probably the nicest lamb rogan josh I've ever had we will definitely be be back again

If you want south Indian kerala food it is the best place to go.

Where do I start, ended up sat away from family even though we booked as a party, waited 30 mins for a drink, starter was still frozen, main meal came 2 and a half hours after we came in,, curry was fantastic but service was shocking,,,,, 1 poor guy and a lady serving a full restaurant,,,,, my mate who's has MND and has to eat often to keep his strength up ate 1 poppadom in 2 hours 30,,,,, shocking effort,,,, we won't be back but I hope it works out for you

Delicious food at a great price. 4 for atmosphere because it was cold in the restaurant. Would have been nicer if it had a cosy feel to it.

Peaceful place to have good food.

I went with my hubby on a Saturday afternoon. Previously tried it on just eat so wanted to try it in restaurant. Ambience is good and helpful staff. We were in a bit of hurry and they brought the food quickly on request. Had a three course meal and all served fresh within an hour. Definitely going back as the food is freshly made and tasted way better than a home delivery order.

We bought some food for our son’s birthday party, which was for 15 people. To be very frank, this was the very best chicken bwwiriyani we had. It was made with utmost dedication and sincerity. It was truly delicious. Each one of them who had it, was praising and enquiring whether it was homemade. First time here but will definitely return. Our group all had different meals and agreed the food was fabulous. Different menu than your average Indian restaurant but well worth a visit. Very tasty food. Opted for medium heat but probably go for hot next time. 5 stars

Went on a Monday night was very quiet only us in but the food was excellent been to Goa a few times and the food reminded me of that region nothing was to spicy and you can taste all the flavours so would definitely go again I hah prawn puri starter husband had the lamb chops for main husband had the King fish and I had varutharacha kozhi chicken and both were excellent the price is very reasonable for a restaurant so will definitely be back thanks

Sister restaurant to Thira in Blackburn and one of the best Indian restaurant's I've ever been to, everything from the service, decor and especially the food was fantastic and all at a reasonable price- £63 for; poppadoms, 2 x starters, 3 x main courses, naan bread, coconut rice, 2 x cocktails & 2 x beers. Excellent value 👏 I loved it so much I took a picture of the staff.

Really nice South Indian food. Not the usual same sauces you get in other restaurant. Portion sizes are just right. Try the Keralan paratha. Very authentic. The staff are very friendly. Maybe ask for recommendations if you aren't familiar with South Indian cuisine. Will definitely be going back.

THE WORST EXPERIENCE EVER !!!! After nearly waiting for 45 min for a takeaway , we received our food ( Kerala Porotta, nadan kozhikari , seafood soup ) - Kerala paratha :simply waist of money as we could buy a pack of frozen Porotta for this rate as this claimed to be freshly made ( we buy frozen porotta and it’s exactly the same). - sea food soup: just merely 3-4small pieces of prawns with green chilli and curry leaves cooked in coconut milk, never imagined it would be named as soup. - nadan Kozhi curry: few pieces of undercooked chicken with potatoes in a fine gravy. Overall, couldn’t feel any flavour in any items and felt like it was waste of time and money. I rang up Chef Bijumon and provided the feedback and he was very rude and arrogant and claims that it is what they serve. Nevertheless, I have to say the ambience of the restaurant is appealing. Sorry to say, I won’t recommend this place to anyone who wish to have proper South Indian food.

I was here for the first time, the food was based on South Indian cuisine, both my starter and main were very good, and at the end, the manager gave us a dhosa for us to try, which was also good, and we were handled well by the staff.

We had dosa masala, masala tea and the service was quick and efficient. We were hungry so requested so....and dosa arrived within minutes.

We ate here last night and give it 5 * and it was our first visi. It was GREAT! Friendly staff on arrival, very relaxed and food with a difference to most other Indian restaurants as their menu reflects on South Indian taste. The starter and main meal were superb. Freshly cooked to perfection and not over facing. It is also sensibly priced including the wine. Not an extensive menu but a PERFECT one. Something to suite everybodies taste. Very few English dining which tells me that the food and cooking is authentic and we will DEFINITELY be going again. Highly recommended.

The food is good, but not spectacular - my standard for South Indian food is very high. I'd recommend the vegetarian options over the non-vegetarian ones.

Absolutely fantastic food, showcasing South Indian dishes full of flavour. Not your standard vindaloo, but Keralan dishes full of depth. Absolutely not your average curry, will be visiting again!

Really like the one in Blackburn and heard that there was going to be one in Bolton and had to try it. Easy to get to from work but seem to have newish staff who seemed nervous but I'm sure they will improve over time. Will definitely revisit when next at work.

Been to thira today . Waited long to get the starter ( reached @8.05pm) , later ordered main .. but around 9.45 staffs came and told food is getting ready and it is a busy day (where we saw only other 3 tables with people, staffs were friendly even though we can see them rarely ) , but when the food came we were shocked , One person got frozen porotta which was hard ( we normally buy frozen porotta so from our experience we can understand it was frozen ) and prawn curry which ws not cooked enough and the other person got just curry with no bread to eat along with it ( which was ordered an hour ago ). Never go back there again . Wasted hours there . I wouldn’t have posted here even if one dish is missing ( serving frozen porotta and making people to pay the charge of fresh food is not good , so posting this so that next customer should not experience this ).

Oh my god this Indian is a breath of fresh air. So different, authentic Indian food, fresh and tasty. A huge addition to Bolton/Farnworth fine dining that is needed round here. Please support and help keep some fine dining in the area.

Tried this new keralan restaurant with my grandson and I can say the food was lovely and tasty and fresh. Lovely surroundings and the staff very friendly. we can't wait to go again and try something new.

First time visit to Thira. I have to say it exceed expectations in every way. The menu was a great balance between the usual Indian dishes and the more unique Kerala dishes. All our dishes were really good but the Sea food soup and Thalassery koshi korma really stood out. We will definitely return, soon😁

I visited the restaurant on a Friday evening with my wife. We didn’t have a reservation but we’re warmly welcomed. The food was amazing, probably one of the best curries I’ve ever had. Great choice including some I haven’t seen at other Indian restaurants. Highly recommended!!

Excellent. Thira is a cut above your average curry house and offers an authentic South Indian menu with meals cooked and served to perfection. Staff were excellent too. A new venture that deserves support, give it a try!

Called on Friday night for an evening meal with my wife. First visit to this southern India curry house and didn't know what to expect but was determined to try a different dish than the usual korma, rogan josh, tikka masala, or jalfrezi all of which were available. After our squid pepper fry starter, which was delicious we ordered varutharacha kozhi curry, a new taste curry to us accompanied with a mushroom pulao rice. We were not disappointed it was delicious and the when you order you can choose the strength of the spices that give the curry its heat and it was spot on. Finished off with a pistachio kulfi (like ice cream). We will be back to try other dishes as the flavours are different than your usual curry house. Total cost without beer/wine a very reasonable £38 for both of us.

Fabulous meal. A party of four of us. The service was excellent and all our starters and main meals were superb. We all had different dishes and they were all delicious 😋 we all said we would definitely return. Nothing like the previous restaurant, give it a try you will not be disappointed.

Portions are small. Service is slow. We were charged for items we didn't have. On saying that the food we had was very nice.

Short version? Fantastic south Indian food, brilliant service and warm surroundings. Totally different to the one that was there before. Long version. Some of the best south Indian food me and the wife have ever had. This restaurant used to be something totally different called monal, we are local just being down the road. Tried it when it was monal, really dissappinting. Bad food and service, horrible atmosphere and very expensive. This is now under totally new ownership we were glad to find when we went in. We took in the menu and ordered a bit of everything that took our fancy. The curries we had were EXCELLENT. The naan, the onion bajis, the rice... All of it was high quality, cooked with care and fresh! So glad to have this place on our doorstep. The best bit? The Dosa! Incredible food. The whole place has a family feel and everyone was very welcoming. Thanks for a lovely meal, see you again soon.
