Just been here today and what a great little place. Food was excellent, service was faultless and immaculately clean. I would highly recommend to anyone. Ordered the salt and pepper ribs to start and absolutely best ribs I’ve ever had!

Called in for their lunchtime special home made tomato and basil soup sandwiches made on fresh foccacia bread (with a good selection of fillings) and fries all for just £10.00 extremely good value and certainly delicious highly recommend it

Four of us for lunch 1 vegetarian who ordered the soup which was supposed to be vegetarian when it arrived our friend noticed pieces of ham in it! It was replaced with a bowl without ham with apologies thank goodness it wasn’t an allergy problem.

Traditional Home cooked food . Locally sourced fresh fish . Brilliant menu & Sunday roast option too . We had the fish soup and a selection of starters which was all amazing will definitely be back .

We visited here for Sunday lunch after reading the reviews. When we arrived, we walked into a lovely, warm bar area with a log burner. Great, I thought this is what I was hoping for from a country pub. However, we were then led down some steps to a side annexe. The room where we were sat was absolutely freezing, my wife felt the radiator, and it was just luke warm. There were 2 other diners in the room, they like us were sat with their coats on. I asked them were they cold & they replied "bloody freezing". Our main course arrived and we ate it & left. From start to finish we were in the pub for 30 minutes, we had planned to have dessert & coffee's but it was just to darn cold to stay. When I paid the bill I told the server how cold it was, and she agreed. I asked to speak to the manager so I could let them know of our very poor experience. We spent £38, ate our meal, sat with our coats on & and felt badly let down by the Horse and Farrier.

We got a takeaway here and it was the best Indian takeaway we’ve had for a long time! I get a chicken tikka masala which is usually really sweet and overly dyed (bright red) from other takeaways, but this one was authentic and the perfect amount of spiciness for me. Good value for the quality, and even though we’re 20 mins from the city, it was delivered piping hot. We will definitely be back!.

Food spot on as always. Always comes fresh and hot , staff could not be more attentive always happy and smiling x a mistake was made with one order and seriously it could not be apologised for enough, it is a busy place and mistakes will be made as with everywhere.
