It’s so rare to have such high expectations and then have them exceeded. The food was extraordinary, the flavours and complexity of every single dish outstanding. Great service and staff to top it off. Should have 3 stars in my opinion.
Stopped here for lunch and I had the hunters chicken ciabatta with sweet potato fries. It was very nice indeed. My only complaint was that I got a bone in the chicken which I was going to point out but no-one came to us to ask how our meal was or to take our dishes away, the staff were upstairs as it was closing time and they were clearing up (I assume). When we went to pay for it the girl didn't ask if everthing was ok or how our meal was so I didn't bother saying anything. It didn't stop me from enjoying my meal or my time spent here.
Got to be doing something right if they have managed to stay open for over 100years !!! Nipped in today as been ive been watching that crazy ginger boltonian lady just to see what the fuss was about! Alma may not be normal just like this pastie shop, its like stepping back in time with the shop surroundings but the prices are even back in the day, bloody 20p for a potato cake yes 20p bloody belting worth a visit, this place amazing staff very friendly too keep up the good work you bonkers boltonian bakers.... highly recommend the egg custards
Really can’t recommend this place.
The venue itself is gorgeous and the service was very friendly (the manager in particular was lovely), but the food is massively underwhelming. The portion size is also borderline pathetic (the lamb pictured here was £37….). The cocktails are awful too.
Such a shame. £144 for a 2-course meal each and two cocktails is a joke.
