Lovely home cooked food, beats all the high Street big name pasty shops on taste, quality and price.

So a few weeks ago I walked past the shop with my dog and one of the ladies give my dog a treat so I had to go back there and get something well that was the best decision ever the pies are amazing and the pastys where fantastic my new favourite place

My first time here as I'm working close by.. I bought two meat and potato pasties and a meat pie.. Wow, we loved them, I'm back in Bolton tomorrow so stocking up and getting a few bags for family and friends to enjoy, thank you 😊

I visited my home town of Bolton yesterday and pre ordered 10 Meat and Potato pasties and 10 Cheese pasties from the best pastie shop in the world Ye Olde Pastie Shoppe. We had one of each warmed up for tea, lovely. The staff as always were welcoming and chatty. Fantastic service and great value for money. Will be back on my next visit. Thank you.

Whilst dropping a new Ford Focus to a customer today to buildings next door was Ye Olde Pastie Shoppe. Thought it would be rude not to pop in. OMG did I strike gold - lovely staff, pasties (2) Pie (1) Eccles cake (2) all mega and totally delicious - can't recommend highly enough. I'm going to ask to do all future deliveries to the customer 2 doors away so I can revisit 🙂

I Called into ye old pastie shop while out shopping in Bolton with my dog Stella , I called in to buy a packet of frozen cheese pasties and a packet of frozen meat and potato pasties , I also bought a couple of fresh pasties and they are delicious I’ll be making the 10 mile round trip again tomorrow Saturday 10/8/24 to restock my freezer

No place better. Why get overcharged for frozen pasties at carrs and greenhalghs and a cold one from Gregg's when you get them fresh out the oven for a fraction of a price. Thank you Mrs Walsh and all the staff for keeping the place up and running

I have just had the best meat pie I've ever had in my 56 years of eating pies and pasties. If they hadn't just closed I would have gone back for more. One really good reason to visit Bolton.

Best pasties in the world. Meat and potato or cheese pasties are the best on a barm. Lovely taste and soft pastry. Well seasoned and great value for money. Well worth a Visit. Thank you

I live abroad now but occasionally go back to England my trip is only complete when I’ve got at least six pasties to bring home with me then it’s a dilemma do I eat them myself or share with then wife ok so I’m not greedy and do share with her Thy really are the best and probably well worth the visit to much changed bolton

Called in today for pasties delicious as always. Decided to pick up 2 fresh cream eclairs which were filled with proper cream (not that air filled cream you get in some supermarkets) also nice thick chocolate on the top,these are proper cream cakes plus at £1 each a very competitive price well done i will be back.

Been today for the first time wow great prices and polite staff .the pasties are better than another pie shop ever .and they do a age of food resalable prices will be back .

Came in today for one of the meat and potato pasties. As delicious as ever. They always taste exactly the same. One of very few things that I remember from childhood that hasn’t changed at all. Always have a stash of their potato cakes in the freezer too. Best potato cakes I’ve ever had. They are unrivalled.

I m not quite sure how these pasties get such good ratings. It must be like the Emperors New Clothes! They are: 1) small (we’re not greedy people) 2) filled with tasteless mashed potato and small bits of mince of some sort. 3) filled with pepper - presumably to add flavour, which it doesn’t. Just makes them unpleasant. My description? Utterly terrible and a waste of money. Then we do live in the south where people are fairly discerning - they certainly wouldn’t sell here. A rip off.

Had a couple of pasties. Cheese and meat potato. They were good. Pastry nice and thin, no grease like other places. Overwhelming potato plus the other ingredient dulled the taste down. Also had a vanilla slice. Again pretty good all in all.

Everything I visit my son and grandsons in Bolton I call here as since I moved away from Bolton I miss these pasties also whisp pies.

I moved away from Bolton 30 odd years ago and now I've returned to my roots during a conversation with my mum we mentioned Ye Olde Pastie Shoppe. Armed with a shopping list from Boltonians now living in exile I returned to relive my youth. Nothing had changed, still a queue, same crazy shaped pasties and friendly staff. Oh my god, these pasties are as good as I remembered and fairly priced. Potato cakes still like fluffy little clouds and a wimberry pie that my grandmother would've been proud of! Can't wait to go back with yet another shopping list. Bolton at its finest.

Amazing food must visit you won't go wrong and they are priced nicely trust me the meat and potato pasties are amazing.

Got some cheese pasties, Wow just delicious, better quality, very reasonable price product, very much loved by pies and pasties lovers, even some footballers gets their baked goodies from here.

The annual visit back home isn't complete, until I've been to Ye Olde's to grab some pasties! A local staple, been around since 1887, and there's a reason for that, the patiea are pretty special. If you're reading this, your prob from out of town, as the locals know this places open and closes early, so if you're looking to sample, try go before the lunch time rush. Even if you do go around lunch time, the queue moves quick. On to the food, pictured here are the potatoes cakes (these are best put under the grilled at home), cheese pastie (Creamey, Cheesey & Potatoey, all at the same time), sausage roll (straight banger!), and chocolate exclars! Staff are super friendly and helpful, when you go to order inside, the place is a little tight and can seem chaotic, but it's part of the experience and charm :) There are quite a few things in the back kitchen, so ask the staff to see if they have what you're looking for, for example, I didn't see chocolate eclairs out front, but they did have them in the back. Everything was delicious as usual ✅️ This was my first time sampling the eclairs, and they didn't disappoint. For me personally, the eclair tops were slightly on the chocolately side, it would be great if Ye Olde's could trial making the eclairs with half thr chocolate on top, to balance out the overall eclair experience 😊

Fantastic pasties. Light pastry, tasty filling. it would be more hygienic if staff avoided handling each one when serving as germs can easily be passed on this way.

Used to drive from Leigh to here for dad . He loved the pasties from here. He remembers mum used to go here years ago. Always helpful and lovely cakes all handmade

Absolutely vile. Messy old shop with a 3/5 food & safety rating. Tasteless food made up of unflavored mush with a pie shell. Avoid and save yourself.

I bought a hot meat pie and two mini meat and potato pasties they were great price and were the best i have ever tasted.

My first visit in years and still producing excellent products. You have to have a pastie which are so tasty and very cheap. I also had a most delightful custard pie. Shop been in existence since the 1600s and long may it continue

Serve these pasties with peas omg the pastie gives the peas a lovely flavour I can't stop eating them as for whiss pies one word moorish bloody lovely.

Travelled from Blackpool to see my son and gran kids in Bolton, I made a dash to ye olde pastie shoppe. Been 12 years since had a pastie from here omg they are still the best I've ever tasted and so cheap. I'll be visiting my home town again really soon and I will definitely be back for more pasties, whiss pies and sausage roll...oh and visit my son and gran sons lol.

As an ex-Boltonian, every chance I get to go back to Bolton, the most important establishment I visit is Ye Olde Pastie Shoppe. Absolutely wonderful to be the best pasties and confectionery that I remember from my youth. At the end of this month, I will be seventy years old, enough said!!!

Cheapest, freshest and nicest sandwiches in town. Always busy as it's one of the best bakeries in the town. Best place to go for a quick on the go lunch.

This place has been around long than any of us reading this. Saturday used to be my treat when my parents brought me a pasties and a meat pie, I still enjoy them some 50 years later. Also like the plate meat and large fruit pies as well.

Best local bakers in Bolton. Pasties and Pies cakes bread sandwiches are all top quality. The prices are reasonable and far from greedy, like the other pastie shops around Bolton. Well Done and thank you. My children all 5 of them aged from 34 to 9 have loved your pasties and pies for ever. My Mum in the late 70s and 80s took me shopping in Bolton would always get me a pie.

Wow... fantastic old history, the food is great & the quality is great. The pastry they use on the pasty is to die for, not stodgy or thick. Would recommend for a snack, it does only open limited times so check 1st. Ejoy

Been going here all my life and although we have moved from the area, we still return and travel miles not just for any old pasty but a Bolton pasty! Must commend the owners on keeping to the original recipe, so many Companies have ruined their brands by changing the ingredients. I never feel bloated, greasy or extra thirsty after these pasties, they are just tasty and wholesome. Enjoy the pies and cakes too but the pasty is always the main event for me and such amazing value. We buy in bulk, freeze and distribute around the family as everybody loves them. I hope Ye Olde Pastie Shoppe lives on forever.

Well what can we say this place makes the best tastey pasties ever. I used to live in Bury and often shopped in Bolton with my Mum we used to get pasties sit in the church grounds and enjoy them maybe even have a cake too. I've heard that your closing and feel that is so sad and so many people will miss you all and the amazing pasties. My daughter has brought us some over today to Accrington where we live now and we really enjoyed them 100% nectar. Thanku nobody will make pasties like you . Good luck in ur new venture xx

Beat pasties ever we travel from Blackburn to get pasties and I no people who travel from further a field for pasties.

Best pasties ever. I drove from South Manchester to buy some. Can get frozen ones for keeping in the freezer too. Opening hours/ days are too short and I can't believe they've never expanded beyond this tiny shop.

Can't really rate it as we turned up on a Saturday before Xmas when most towns are busy and after walking up to Churchgate from town found it to be closed. I thought it unusual on a weekend shopping day.

Its a family run business for decades. Very friendly staff and delicious pastry and value for money.

The pasties made by this bakery are the best and have not changed in quality since I first tasted one in 1970 when I started working in Bolton. There is plenty of filling unlike others which are almost flat and the pastry is better than the pasties with biscuit like edges.
