Superb food, excellent wine list. Family run chef/Owner skilled at his job and very knowledgeable on his wines. Would highly recommend.

We had a wonderful dining experience, in this lovely local restaurant, to celebrate our wedding anniversary. The food was freshly sourced, cooked to perfection and absolutely delicious! The service was attentive but not intrusive and we would highly recommend a visit to this hidden gem. We will definitely return.

Excellent food, Chef knows his Steaks. Great service, food cooked fresh, it's great for a special occasion. Decor could be updated, but the food made up for that. 2 courses £25 3 courses £35. Good choice of drinks.

Great starter (smoked salmon and tsatziki) and main (pork sirloin, 👌) for me. My girlfriend thought her sea bass was excellent, but would have appreciated the black pudding bon-bons having a solely black pudding filling.

Telephoned in the hope of a last minute booking and we were in luck - yay! Only wanted a main course and opted for a fillet on the specials list. The fillet was melt in the mouth divine, cooked to perfection, served with tasty jersey potatoes and vegetables. We added homemade fat chips and they were perfect crispy outside fluffy inside. The wine was lovely, the service spot on and we left very happy having booked our next visit. 10/10

This is a restaurant within a terraced cottage, in Egerton. It is therefore very cosy. The food menu is limited, which I regard as a good thing. (It’s better to do a few things well, rather than trying to be all things to all people). They do change the menu regularly to keep it fresh and seasonal. Bistro 341 definitely doesn’t disappoint when it comes to the food; traditional and classic options mostly, but everything was excellent.

A cramped restaurant space - you can't get up from your table without having to squeeze past another and apologise for the (literal) physical contact. Too many tables in too small a space! The pretentious might call it "cosy". The menu is limited but, on the face of it, impressive. However, reality wasn't quite so positive. For the (inflated) price, the food wasn't 'all that'. Flavours weren't as balanced as you'd expect. Meat wasn't of as high quality as you'd expect, sides were bog standard.... There was nothing about the food that made it stand out. In fact, we've had better quality & flavour in local pubs. Service was slow, but personable. Decor is dated. An 'Emperor's New Clothes' kind of place.

Visited with a friend. Excellent standard of food . Everything that we had was delicious and well cooked with lovely presentation. If you appreciate good food, try this small restaurant and you won't be disappointed

This is now our 4th trip along to this excellent restaurant. The food is top draw and the choices are ample and each and everyone shouts ‘order me’. Good , reasonably priced wine on offer. Really, the only disappointment is the fact you can’t order everything! Will be going back again and again.

I booked a table for two for Saturday 8th July and we were the first guests to arrive. After ordering drinks (a bottled beer and a large glass of red wine) we decided on the food. Prior to the food being served, home made bread bread was brought to the table, which was a lovely touch. I ordered the tiger prawns; these were incredible! My husband opted for the rabbit rillettes, which he thoroughly enjoyed. We both decided to order the fillet steak from the specials board. Both steaks were cooked to perfection and were served with a selection of vegetables, potatoes and a sauce. I opted for the cheese board (the garlic and truffle cheese is divine!) My husband had a coffee. We had a wonderful evening and exceptional food. By the time we left the restaurant, the place was 'buzzing'. The atmosphere is relaxed and this is a place I'd definitely visit again and again. I can't recommend this restaurant highly enough.

We came Sunday 17th July 2023,with my parents for my dads birthday. We had been before but my parents hadn’t. It was absolutely fantastic! It’s always a worry taking new people to somewhere you love but we were not disappointed. The belly pork starter and the prawn and chorizo was unbelievable! The same can be said for the lamb main and the duck main. My dad could not rave about it enough. He can’t wait to return. He said it was the best food he had eaten outside of home,in years. That’s including the gourmet food they get on their annual cruise trips. My dad is someone who complains a lot,about food quality when we eat out,so to get a rave review from him,believe me,means a lot. The wine choices are superb also. So hats off to all. Well recommended to anyone who is a foody.

Very small restaurant but the food is amazing. There is a small but varied, set price menu, which makes it easy for groups of people when it's time to divide the bill! The pork belly was amazing as was the lamb.

Booked a table for two adults and two children aged 11 and 18month we did not enjoy our experience we were sat in the main food area when we arrived and because the baby was crying they seated everyone else in a separate seating area the restaurant is not child friendly and we were made to feel like we were an inconvenience but we paid the same amount of money as the other guests that were dining. I also found a hair in my pate 🤑

We probably need to go back as a few things, outside the restaurants control, possibly affected our experience. Firstly it was absolutely Freezing outside. They had 1 electric heater plugged in that didn't feel very hot and we were all cold. Every time the door opened we got an icy blast. Secondly, we expected a certain ambience but we were sat on our own in the front room and there were only a couple of groups in the back room. This could've been for 2 reasons; there were only 3 staff in, including the cook and/or it coincided with the world cup. I do know our friends tried to book the same evening and were advised they were fully booked though. The food was lovely. The garlic scallops starter were out of this world. I had a turkey dinner which was fine enough. Hubby enjoyed the venison, everyone else was happy with their choice. We would definitely visit again but it needs to be warmer. (the bathroom windows were WIDE OPEN upstairs!)

Absolutely fantastic from start to finish. Although I've lived in Bromley Cross for 8 years never visited before. My brother wanted us to go for a nice meal so after sending him the menu he decided he wanted to try here. Started off with complimentary bread and olives followed by scallops on the half shell, duck breast and rack of lamb and then cheesecake for desert. Service was impeccable and food was delicious. We were really impressed and are already planning our next visit.

Been trying for a long time to visit this place, and so glad we finally did and the reviews are spot on. This is a cosy intimate little restaurant that serves absolutely amazing food and makes ur experience perfect. We have visited so many restaurants and good food and service is the making of any business and these have it nailed. If your lucky enough to get in then book, you won't regret it.

My family and I visit the Bistro regularly and always have the best experience. We come for family dos and always come for Christmas too. The quality of food is second to none, you could order anything from the menu and guarantee to enjoy it. The couple who run it are very welcoming and professional. Just a lovely restaurant, a hidden gem you might say. Couldn’t recommend this restaurant more.

First visit to this little gem after moving to the area 18 months ago. The food is what this place is all about… outstanding!! Service was good too.. everything you needed at the right time without being too overbearing. The only thing i’d say could be improved is personally I’d prefer candles on the tables and slightly dimmer lighting to create more of an ambiance. But as the title of this review suggests this place stands out with the quality of it’s food and for that reason I can’t wait to return.

We booked for Saturday evening at the locks bistro in Egerton, on the outskirts of Bolton. We received a warm welcome on arrival. We started with pate and calamari followed by duck breast and hand cut chips. Plus pavlova to finish. With a bottle of wine and cafe the bill £93.00. The food was superb .. beautifully served and flavoured. Service was efficient but not hurried. I would def recommend this bistro and we hope to return again.

How does this restaurant have 5 stars!? After what we experienced I cannot understand the reviews for this restaurant. One of the worst experiences in a restaurant I've had. Dining room full of spider webs... Bland food... Main was served stone cold. Did the staff care about any of this? Not in the slightest. Avoid, you can get a lot more for a lot less elsewhere.

When I lived in Bolton this was my number one choice of places to eat, on returning to Bolton for a short visit I realised it is still my number one place to eat no matter where I live. The food is amazing what ever you order it never fails to please, the atmosphere either with friends or as a couple could not be better. This is definately five star.

I would give it 6* . Really lovely meal with the in laws as our Christmas treat. On arrival shown to the small dining area at the back by what transpired as the owner and chefs wife. She was polite and friendly asking to take our coats and clearly knows her customer service skills. It was noted to be very well decorated for Christmas and certainty added to the festive vibe. Nice touch the crackers on the table. Warm and comfortable area with a log effect burning fire. Table set perfectly. Now for the best bit. …. the food was absolutely amazing arriving on hot plates. . I had the starter of beef short ribs a delicious flavoursome dish. . Husband and his Father had the egg : black pudding wrapped in panko both commented it was delicious . The mains consisted of duck breast, 2 steaks and lamb all commented on how wonderful they were cooked and very tasty. The seasonal vegetables that came with it was cooked perfectly. We ordered side potions of chips but really was not needed however I’ll have to say these were the nicest chips we have had in a restaurant for some time and we all agreed this to be the case. Unfortunately no room for pudding but can image given the quality of the starters and main dish I doubt we would of been disappointed. Found the owners friendly and polite whilst unobtrusive. The other staff were polite, friendly and professional in their roles. Overall, a wonderful intimate bistro that deserves the five star reviews. Must add we also enjoyed the delicious wine. Highly recommend a visit to this lovely restaurant. We will be returning.

this was our first visit as did not know it existed as not aware of many restaurants in bolton area worth visiting and none in the town centre. the staff were welcoming and friendly and the food was excellent. it was good homely comforting food and value for money. the belly pork was amazing. not a place for a noisey boozy get together, good for couples and a quiet dinner. well worth a visit

I visit here on a regular basis, and am always amazed by the varied menu. A short menu that covers every taste and is changed on a weekly basis. If I could order more than one I would but the portions are always generous. I never leave here feeling hungry and am always happy when I get my bill. The wine selection is great and kids are always accommodated for.

I have driven passed this little gem so many times and thought I must try there and then forgot but I finally remembered and I am so happy I did! It’s a tiny restaurant but has an open kitchen and the food was just fabulous! Every time some food passed everyone was hoping it would come to them as it looked and smelled amazing! We will definitely return and soon the pavlova was to die for! Thanks so much for a lovely evening! Can’t believe I can walk to this gem and haven’t before -well that’s been corrected now I am happy to say!

We had our first Take Out Meal yesterday and it was absolutely Amazing it was exactly the same quality as when we have eaten in before Covid. If you havnt tried you really are missing out this is truly fine dining at home. Absolutely Delicious Thankyou Bistro 341

First time visitors to this very local small restaurant. The reputation was excellent and we had been recommended by friends to go. They have set menus of two and three courses. The food was excellent, so tasty and cooked to order. The items we had were starters, black pudding and goats cheese fritter.Mains beef Fillet, pork T Bone, lamb RumpSweet Eton Mess and chocolate ganache.My daughter is a particular funny picky eater but her requests were accommodated with no bother.There is also an extensive wine list.Such tasty food and we shall return

First visit since last year and still as brilliant as our previous visits. Our visit was a couple of weeks after the restaurant reopened after the lock down and was early evening. The choice of food was good and presentation was amazing, very tasty and well cooked. It was quiet so we had first class service by friendly staff. Will be back soon.

We have missed visits to our favourite restaurant in the North West, a monthly treat for us both. Tables well spaced, sanitiser in place, all good. Service and food as good as ever, my tastebuds haven’t tingled so much since our last visit before lockdown. Stephen you are an artist with food and deserve much greater recognition than this simple review. Cannot wait for our next visit, the anticipation as to what may be on the menu is almost unbearable !!

Had an excellent evening at my favourite restaurant tonight. Had to have all 3 courses as it has been so long since I have been there. Tables well spaced, plenty of sanitizer available, all feels good. Can't wait to go again.

Great but very small excellent Christmas lunch

The food is a much higher standard than any restaurant than anywhere else I have visited

Went last Friday with friends, first time here, service was good I would not say excellent, bread and olives very nice, all starters x 6 excellent, the pate and soup looked excellent, main meal this is why the 4 stars and not 5, wife had fish Thai style, for anyone who enjoys Thai food this unfortunately was not Thai or close to it, my chicken with crab flakes was an unusual flavour combination but ok, 2 of the group had lamb and both said it was tough, the sausage was excellent, I am glad we sat downstairs as it was chilly when we arrived but it soon warmed up, the ambiance was nice. Small set menu £20 for 2 courses 24 for 3 courses, my advise would be to give the dessert menu out at the beginning so people can decide on 2 or 3 courses, my gut feel was you lost at least 4 dessert sales to our group.I always finish off with would I go back again, the answer is yes. Thank you for a nice evening

Maybe we went on an off night, we were sat by the host in the first room we entered and it was cold and got colder every time someone entered. They asked if we’d like drinks and as I was driving I said to my partner you can have alcohol, she ordered gin and tonic and the server disappeared to get it without asking me if I wanted anything. Her drink arrived and we were asked to order, she ordered cheek of lamb and myself I ordered the soup. My partner ordered the lamb as a main and I ordered venison but was told it would be rare, I said I’d like it cooked as much as possible to be told I couldn’t have it like that, obviously it’s not freshly prepared and is only heated up, probably produced by “Brakes”! So I then chose steak, well done of course, when the starters arrived my soup was cold but tasty and my partners lamb cheek was lukewarm but also tasty, maybe their microwave wasn’t working properly. My partner ordered a red wine and was asked “regular or large”? She said large but not offered a choice or type of red. It was delivered and was 175ml, hardly a large, large to me is 250ml., small is 125ml and 175ml is regular. Starters were eaten and mains delivered, my ribeye was mostly fat and gristle and was definitely not grilled but had the texture of a stewed steak, my partners lamb mains was worse than mine, we shan’t go back and can only assume others who have left recommendations aren’t au fair with good dining.

Our experience at Bistro341 was amazing, great atmosphere, very homely, staff friendly, food was amazing, no issues at all and we will definitely be back.

We went for a meal on Friday evening and although we live in Egerton this is the first time my husband has visited the restaurant although I have been with friends before. The set menu is £20 for two courses or £24 for three and has enough choice for anyone and after you have made your choices complimentary bread, butter and olives are served. My husband chose the calamari starter and he said it was perfectly cooked and not rubbery at all which calamari can be sometimes. The main course of pork saltimboca for him and cod for me followed and was also perfectly cooked and delicious. We finished with trifle for him and a liqueur coffee for me. I believe the set menu changes quite regularly and there is also a Specials blackboard with plenty of choice of starters and mains at a small supplement. We will be back.

Me and my partner have visited bistro 341 on may occasions. As we are creatures of habbit, so we love how the menu changes all the time and we can't order what we had last time. I'm yet to find a restaurant that matches bistro 341 like for like. A small family run business with really tasty dishes that are beautifully presented. I felt the need to leave this review after seeing a ridiculous review that somebody else had posted a few days ago and felt it was far from a true representation of bistro 341. Every time we book here, I look forward to it all week and we always have a warm welcome from the staff. I encourage anybody who gets put if by seeing one bad review to try this place, you wont be disappointed :)

Good food drinks and wine are expensive

Very dissapointed, come here for a friend's birthday and arrived to what could only be described as a brightly lit front old fashioned room with no atmosphere. Walked in to my grans empty front room and the casually dressed staff ignored us for, no greeting and didn't bother to come over to take drinks order, I had to go upto the bar, thought the staff were a little rude and when I asked what beer they had it seemed like I had asked for £100 out of the till. Finally got the drinks and waited for the rest of our party to arrive, after that we got some bread for the table (and not one bread too many for the party) some didn't eat this straight away so they kept trying to take it away from the table which was again rude. The girl kept hiding behind the brick wall. Not knowing what to do with herself until she had to change my friends bread knife, there was no "excuse me" she just bent over my friend and put a very sharp knife in front her her which was again rude and bad mannered.I had the calamari and chicken which were mediocre at that, which could have been slightly more enjoyed had there been actual sides with the meal but we all just got a ramakin of boiled veg which was tiny and bland.We couldn't wait to get the bill and leave to be honest and after reading so many good reviews I think I was more dissapointed.It would have been nice of the lights were dimmed, candles on the tables and some mood music and the staff made more of an effort in their choice of attire. All those things make a big difference so hopefully this review might help change some things then I may come back and re- review....until then I woukd rather eat in a generic pub.

Very nice little restaurant. The food is always spot on!

Went here with friends for dinner. Had a table in the back room. Place was busy and very homely. The kitchen appears to be very small, so we were prepared for quite long waits between courses, which was not a problem. We had bread and olives before our starters, which included mushroom soup, kidneys and prawns. Main courses were lamb, duck, chicken and fish. All the food was well presented and very good. A reasonable selection of wines, which were excellent. Finished off with creme brûlée and fruit. A lovely evening.

Went to bistro 341 yesterday with family, I was not disappointed the food was on point, I have goats cheese for starter it was great, for main I had lamb was cooked to perfection it comes with a side of vegetables lovely, for dessert I had sticky toffee pudding with custard, it's a must visit you won't be disappointed the staff were very helpful and very nice, I will be back to try again

We had a wonderful Christmas night here. The set menu was excellent but some of us did eat off the supplement menu board. The food and service was excellent and though we were the last to leave we weren’t rushed. Would definitely come back.

We have dined here twice this year and had to book two weeks in advance on both occasions.

We came here at the beginning of November as a treat, celebrating my birthday. Everything was just so well done, from the home-made bread with the nibbles to the home-made ginger biscuits with the creme brûlée. I started with scallops cooked on their shells with garlic butter & samphire which were really fresh and perfectly cooked. This was followed by a thick and succulent veal steak (it's ok to eat this now!) with wild mushrooms and a luscious red wine jus & just the right amount of fresh vegetables. I was there with my husband & adult son & there wasn't a scrap left on any plate!

Been desperate to come here since it opened. Followed Stephen (owner/chef) from winning awards at Grenache, Walkden to winning awards as Head Chef at Rosso, Manchester. Wasn't disappointed. Food excellent as expected. Cosy setting. Very reasonable priced. Excellent wine list. Rooms upstairs and downstairs for private parties. Wish it was a bit closer to home - but that good will be travelling there again soon !!

Had a lovely early evening meal here on a Friday. Three courses for £25. Good selection of choices. Nice house prosecco. Good service. Two of the desserts were a little over baked, but other than that great food. Will visit again.

The best kept secret in Egerton!

Came to 341 last night a place we frequent on a regular basis this lovely little restaurant is growing from strength to strength. The food is amazing cooked to perfection and presented beautifully. Front of house jo cannot do enough to make your visit perfect nothing is too much trouble. I cannot recommend 341 Bistro enough to family and friends it truly is a hidden gem in Bolton and is so much worth a visit you most certainly will not be disappointed the menu is varied and suitable to all tastes and extremely good value for money considering the quality of produce you receive. I've yet to find anywhere better in Bolton simply because there isnt anywhere better. Great job 341 your hard work and determination shines through with your food and hospitality. Great place

Delicious food, perfect service and an amazing menu. My boyfriend is a chef and I am a waitress and we were both blown away by our meal here. The best meal I have had in a long long time. Moved to the area a couple of months ago after living in some very foodie places around the world, and have been checking out a few local eateries. Bistro 341 has a very impressive menu and execution. Will definitely be going back!

We have been dining at Bistro 341 for over two years and the fact you now must book in advance for Saturday evening is a clear sign how fantastic this place is.

I was one of a party of eight who dined at this restaurant recently. It was just as good if not better than it was the last time I ate here. It's a bit special, don't expect fast food anything worthwhile is worth waiting for! Unreservedly recommend.

What an undiscovered gem this place is! Unassuming, down to earth, hassle free service to compliment quite possibly some of the best food I have ever had. Simple dishes cooked to perfection. Quality ingredients. Great value for money - would be three times the price in Manchester. The Battered Black Pudding starter is inspired. The Lamb main was melt in the mouth perfection. Was in a good three hours as we never felt rushed or forced to leave our table. Debated to post this review as I want to keep this place a secret. Will definitely be back!

Me and my partner live in the local area and always drive past. We have always heard good things about Bistro 341 from friends and wanted to come for a while. From now on I will make an excuse to go! Seriously good food!! I would highly recommend
