Boars Head in Blackpool

I can highly recommend this place for the food and drink. Having eaten in many pubs this place is a hidden gem the food is excellent and the service is second to none. You will struggle to beat the prices for the food and the drink. The atmosphere is so relaxing with proper background music. Just try it . Highly recommend. Regards from an experienced diner

Absolutely home from home Sunday lunch. Children under 8 eat free with every paying adult. Soup included in price for £10.95. Meat when we went was beef, gammon and turkey. Would highly recommend

Got us in as a walk-in and we're so friendly and accommodating! Really needed to feed the family before getting on the road for s long drive home. Excellent food, great value. Soup and carvery were perfect.

The Sunday carvery was absolutely superb. Came to try it after seeing on social media. The pub itself is like one you should find on a country walk. Friendly team and tasty food.

Absolutely brilliant. Myself and my partner have been the last 3 Monday afternoons. I have had the sausage and mash with onion gravy - she hashad the club sandwich and yesterday she had the gourmet burger. ALL the food has been excellent - the gourmet chips deserve a special mention !! She is working this Sunday and I'm actually thinking of nipping in for a solo Sunday Carvery :-) Staff are really nice and helpful too. Support your local pubs - or lose them - this is NOT a Beefeater, Sizzling, Punch identikit pub - it's a true local that welcomes everybody. FY3 9PL if you are visitng Blackpool do yourself a favour and stick that postcode in your sat nav. As an ex Pub Landlord for 20 years I am really picky when it comes to Pubs - this is one of the best.

Excellent lunch , I had toasted club sandwich, with chunky chips, delicious , My partner had, BBQ chicken baguette, with coleslaw and salad, both delicious, would definitely recommend both dishes, atmosphere was great, landlady very friendly, well worth a visit.

The Boars Head consistently serves excellent freshly prepared home cooked food at an affordable price with very generous portions. The standard menu caters for everyone including vegetarians and vegans plus there is a weekly changing specials section. It is a very friendly pub and everyone is always welcoming. It is our pub of choice and regularly make the 20-30 minute drive to eat here in preference to any of the other alternatives available.

Awesome pub, the owner and his wife are very good at what they do! A friendly, welcoming atmosphere with quick efficient service even when busy.

The pub did a real ale loyalty card. Buy 8 pints get 1 free but did not honour promotion. Whatever happened to customer goodwill. Won't be going back

We really enjoyed having lunch here. The food was great, hot and reasonably priced. The owner stopped by to see how we were doing and have a quick chat. The wait staff was very friendly. Lovely place!

Excellent food served piping hot. The barmaid who appeared to be the only one who was serving at the time we were visiting the pub for our lunch was really friendly and caring enough that when she made a.m. error and unfortunately served me the incorrect dessert she was able to rectify the small error and ALL was ok. I feel that I would definitely recommend The Board Head on Preston Old Road if you're ever in the area

Lovely homely pub. Went there to eat a meal after work on a weekday. Pub was recommended to us to try. Menus were not on the tables, but staff members were helpful and welcoming. I had chicken burger and partner had hunters chicken. Meals were large and had proper chips on them, in fact found it difficult to finish meal. Excellent value for money and food was nicely presented on a plate and tasty. Will definitely be returning. Lots of pros to going there, only con was no or very limited parking. Had to park on street nearby

The food was excellent. The staff were very friendly. Exceeded all expectations. Landlady very hands on and a real people's person. Will definitely be going back sooner rather than later.

Called in Saturday for lunch as I heard good things about this place had the peppered steak baguette and my friend had fish and chips OMG they were amazing. We will definitely be back and thx to the team for the recommendations. Defo returning soon.

Went again yesterday for Sunday lunch and couldn’t fault it. Chicken was delicious and veg was cooked to perfection. Have eaten here many times and the food never disappoints. Staff are always friendly and very helpful nothing is too much trouble. Will be back on our next visit to Blackpool.

We didn't stay long but the lady working there was very accommodating and there was a big selection of unusual beers and spirits which is always good for me! Menu wasn't big and wasn't cheap but we didn't eat so cant comment on quality. Area outside looked a bit tired and some of the tables looked on their last legs but otherwise ok.

Both me and my dad Had a very nice Ploghmans tonight from here, it had Pork Pie, 2 cheeses, ham, apple, grapes , salad, coleslaw and pickled onions, an 2 chutneys. With a crusty baguette. It ticked every box, lovely food , great service. Always find it welcoming and great food here. See you again soon 😀

Great Sunday carvery homemade pudding, friendly staff, highly recommended

Went for a carvery and was nicely impressed. Proper local’s boozer with some familiar faces. Carvery was amazing. Only place I’ve been that does medium rare beef on the carvery. Sooooo worth a look. Grandad said the sticky toffee pudding was the best he’s ever had.

There is always a warm welcome. Food ex. Customers and staff very friendly.

My partner, son and myself came to the Boars Head for the mother's day carvery. Even though it was very busy. The staff greeted us on arrival and made sure we had a nice clean table. There was free homemade soup with the carvery. Which today was vegetable. On the carvery were three different meats. Gammon, beef and pork, Yorkshire pudding, stuffing balls mash, roast potatoes and lots of different veg, gravy, all sauces and everything was home cooked. Also if you could fit it in for two pounds extra. There was sponge and custard. It was a lovely atmosphere, and we had a very enjoyable afternoon, and we will definitely be returning.

Had a Great lunch today and the staff were great even though under lots of pressure with their beer deliveries etc . But service was with a smile , made us all feel welcome. Our father who’s 94 and his partner really enjoyed the golden years menu , which my sister and I tried too . Hubby enjoyed his all day breakfast and brother in law had a lovely looking club sandwich. Visited with friends after a work colleague recommended the food. Wasn’t disappointed, was acknowledged and welcomed as soon as we entered. Lovely, pleasant young lady took our order at the bar. All our food was delicious and very large portions especially the giant onion rings. Landlord and landlady came over to check everything was ok. Will definitely visit again to try something else off the menu.

Always friendly staff and serve you quick and they have a good selection of beers and spirits on and they do decent food and carvery on Sunday.

Called in tonight the landlady an landlord were brilliant got us a table , service from staff excellent nothing to much trouble when I asked for the mushroom starter to come out at the same time as my partners main course . Food was lovely and customer service skills were excellent kept doing check backs it was busy with a great atmosphere , even when we left they acknowledged us and said have a great holiday...have travelled many times past the road when staying at the hotel and didn't know it was there , we will certainly be calling again and I will definitely mention it when I go back to work and anyone says they are staying in the area. What I call a proper pub keep doing what your doing .

We saw the positive reviews so thought we give it a try. A charming traditional pub with a cozy warm and friendly atmosphere, the staff were friendly and polite. Someone in our group had the ‘golden years’ for over 60’s 3 course for only £7.95 amazing value and choice. Good selection on their regular menu, starters mains and desserts all very reasonably priced. They had a good selection of drinks on the bar again reasonably priced. Have found a new place to eat will definitely be going back might even go in for a pint one night. Very quiet when we ate at Boars Head. We tried as we live locally, it's like a tardis inside with nice architectural features. We both had pies- steak and kidney, steak and blue cheese with proper pub cooked chips. All in all a good experience.

14 friends for a 60th Birthday celebration. We had the Xmas menu . The food was absolutely fantastic, and the service was great. Couldn’t recommend it any higher. A massive thanks to everyone at The Boars for making the whole night enjoyable.

This pub and the staff are amazing! The landlady remembered me from several years ago and made me feel very welcome. The food is amazing, especially the Carvery on a Sunday, excellent home cooked food. Lovely, friendly atmosphere. I would visit more often if I could but living in Berkshire is a bit of a drive!

We've eaten here twice this week. It has a nice cozy atmosphere, all the staff are friendly n helpful. Good choice of food n drink, and great value for money. I had Steak n Blue Cheese Pie, chips n peas, very tasty and very filling. Then 2nd visit was The Sunday Roast, Pork, Gammon or Beef, pigs in blankets yorkies, all looked nice n fresh, great choice of veg, especially enjoyed the leeks in a creamy sauce. Well Done Boars Head, you run a great bar, we will be back soon

We have just moved to the area and there are a few pubs in walking distance, boy are we glad we choose the Boars Head , a very friendly welcome all the staff are very engaging and happy . We decided to eat I had lasagne which I'm always wary about as I am the a dab hand at making it myself but there's was absolutely outstanding. We decided to book in for Sunday dinner all homemade the apricot and sausage meat stuffing and the marmite garlic potatoes, the meat cooked to perfection, I have a feeling my oven won't be used much . Well done to all at the Boars Head

We found this pub on Google after visiting the zoo and what a little gem it is. Amazing food and service, friendly staff and relaxed atmosphere. Would recommend to anyone including family’s with young children. P.s try the lasagna

We eat in here often great food and always a great experience the staff are helpful and always happy to help. Salt n Pepper chips are the best about. The Burns night 3 course meal was excellent value and a great atmosphere.
