Boonnak Thai in Blackpool

Didn't book a table so we were lucky to get a table on a busy Saturday night. Service wasn't the quickest but the girls were very busy in a pretty full restaurant. Will definitely visit again as the food was amazing.

Excellent in everything!!! A most wonderful place to eat. We'll be back again soon. And we came back for another absolutely wonderful meal. Fantastic wonderful place.

Walked in off the street, no tables. Walked across the street to the pub and booked a table online for 45 mins later..... Anyway, nice restaurant, warm with background music. Attentive staff. Good menu. Decent prices for the portion. Lived the After Eights that came with the bill. Would definitely go again.

food was aweful. crispy stuff was soggy, soup was basically water with no flavour what so ever. missing sauces, ribs were just fat no meat, alll in all very dissapointed

Ordered our food at around 6:30pm and didn’t arrive until 8:45pm ?? We live 10 mins from the restaurant. Food arrived cold and didn’t taste as good as usual as we have ordered from you many times. Chicken satay was dry could barely bite the chicken off the skewer. I phoned the restaurant to ask where our order was and the people I spoke to were extremely unhelpful and said the order had already gone which I checked on my app and it hadn’t then 20 mins later the driver had left the restaurant. Unfortunately I will not be ordering from you again

Iced Milk Green Tea is the best! MUST TRY! Along with Yellow curry and padthai 🤗🤗🤗 Tried chicken satay and pork dumplings and it was really good. Perfect combo.

Worth the wait, fresh and tasty Thai food!

We ordered a takeaway to be delivered. After an hour and a half we called to see where it was only to be told they hadn’t started making it - they then suggested we pick it up as it would be quicker. The restaurant was quiet so I don’t know what the delay was. We got the food home and it was cold - the green curry had all separated and the sticky rice was a congealed mess. For £25 for two meals I would expect better. They gave us a full refund when we took the food back. Wouldn’t recommend for a takeaway- haven’t eaten in so can’t comment on that.

I am extremely mad with this restaurant. I made reservation at 18:45 and arrived at 18:40. I still had to queue for 40 minutes to get a place. What is more unacceptable is, a group of 4 who booked 19:00 table went directly to a table without queuing. I questioned about this and they told me they jump the queue because they booked it a week ago, how does that can be an excuse of jumping the queue? Finally I got a table at 7:20, made the order and wait 30 minutes for our first drink, another 30 minute for food. I just ordered a curry, a stir-fry crispy pork and a toast, how the hell it took a hour to prepare? Even my grandma cooking faster than you! For food, milk tea was bland, curry was thin like water, crispy pork was not crispy at all! Could you believe these cost me 40 pound?

Always my ‘go to’ restaurant for Thai food in Blackpool. Tonight’s takeaway not up to their usual standards. The whole meal was almost cold on delivery (especially the rice). The majority of the chicken pieces in the ‘sweet and sour’ was chewy - never had that before from here. The mixed starter and veg in the main dish was however as good as usual. I hope this experience was a ‘one off’.

Unfortunately my food order tonight was disappointing. battered by eg was soggy and greasy mainly battered peppers rick hard carrots. and my pad Thai noodles were also greasy

Great place to have a early bird dinners at £14.95 for a two courses you can't go wrong a starter and a main with a complementary soft drink. What more do you want then only thing I would say I would have thought hlthere would have given you a small bowel of prawn crackers as a complaint on the house as a welcome 😁.

i have had takeaway from here a few times but this was first time dining in. Lovely atmosphere and ambience. Staff attentive and proficient. Food was delicious. Will definitely be coming back.

Lovely Thai banquet for two plus a very nice Beef Thai Salad. Food was well presented and tasted great. Had it with a bottle of Babich New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc. Good friendly service. Will go again when next in Blackpool.

A very wet and horrible evening making the restaurant very quiet only 2 people eating when we arrived at 6 drinks order taken from our party of 4 my wife's birthday quite promptly after that it went downhill long wait for our food and when it did eventually arrive 2 of our meals were cold not good !! when we returned the food it came back just warm enough food was OK nothing special got told by the waitress that they had problems in the kitchen this evening not our problem we will not be returning that's for sure a let down for my wife's birthday not a happy bunny 😬

Ordered from the takeout menu. Delivery was very fast. The dishes had a very good variety of meats and veg. They were all lovely. The won tons were top notch too with lots of meat and nice flavour. The sauce however in the main dish was just really brown water. Very watery and not saucy. No colour to the meat or veggies and absolutely no seasoning. Very bland. I ordered Oyster sauce delicious Thai dish and a Pad Si Ew. It was advertised as rice noodles which to me is the very thin noodles. The noodles it came with are flat rice noodles. If the word flat had been on the menu I would have ordered another dish as I don't like these. It just feels like thick tagliatelle and this is not an Italian. Not advertised correctly, it should say they are flat. Still after some added seasoning, soy and oyster sauce from my cupboard, it wasn't bad and turned out quite nicely. Wouldn't have minded spending the money as much though if I hadn't have had to faff about with it. In other news the delivery driver was lovely and it was very quick. I have added a photo but that is with extra sauce added. Will I order again? - no... but thankyou.

If you’re vegan and in Blackpool, you have to come here for dinner! Staff were very helpful in showing which meals were vegan - and there were loads! Also good for big groups.

Good Thai food. Start with Som Tam and leave some space for sticky rice with mango as a dessert.

Avoid,charged £9.50 for 1 dim sum,1 prawn in filo,1 piece chicken toast,1 small chicken salad,1slice of cucumber the smallest chilli dip and diluted peanut butter! Should have gone to Iceland which I think they did?plus £5.50 for a pint of lager that's expected but value for money this certainly is not first and last visit oh and don't forget added tip which was added to bill no option.

Thai food westernized for the British palate. If you're looking for authentic Thai food like they serve in Thailand, SE Asia, or even some good Thai restaurants in the UK, you will be disappointed here. We visited this restaurant for lunch based on very good Google reviews as we were in Blackpool for one day only and regretted it.

Nice staff, nice food. You can book from Google Maps (but I am not sure if it works well). They play Thai music. Everyone was so great. Just the green curry was a bit spicier than I expected but it was still very tasty and the portion was a good fit for a person.

Ate here this evening for the first time and won't be returning. We waited an hour between starter and main course, not even an apology was given. Food was lovely but service severely lacking!!

Delivery was in the time frame however it was delivered a long time after i got the notification that it was leaving the shop... Curry, rice and noodles were lovely but the mixed starters and the chips didnt seem quite right.. Starters with pastry seemed very chewy and the chips were very soggy... We also didnt get free prawn crackers which i thought we would... All in all not the best but not the worst

Best Thai takeaway in the area by a mile

The starter of Thai fishcakes were just akin to a chicken nugget. Frozen mouse type and very poor. Tinned chicken in the Green curry which was very low end First and last visit here for me.

After eating in the restaurant months before and having issues with the wait time & the wait staff leaving unhappy, we were dubious about ordering takeout. we remembered how lovely the food was and were suprised by how quickly it arrived to us on a busy Saturday night ! everything was so flavoursome and I would definitely order again! thank you Boonak x

Really tasty nicely cooked fresh food. Spicy means spicy! Had Tom yam soup, spicy tofu & prawn pad thai. Delicious- would definitely order again & try other dishes. Delivered on time & hot

Great food and drink and friendly staff

Had pork dumplings, Tom yam soup, spiced chips, jasmine rice and Thai green curry (delivery) the pork dumplings was bland and tasteless, chips virtually cold, Tom yam soup, they must have used the dish water, the thai green curry very watery and small portion, and the jasmine rice was OK, spent a month in Thailand at Christmas, this awful food is miles away from Thai food, first and last at this place, only bought because of the reviews

Delicious food and v nice people and atmosphere . We dined 3 times there all were excellent choices

the food was mostly lovely, but the portions were absolutely horrific especially considering prices, we ordered a sticky coconut rice which h for the most part was lovely but the size of the container was tiny but then we opened it and the container was also not even half full, yet this rice was more expensive then the coconut rice we ordered which was in a container twice the size and again weren't full and the chips were also half full, the curries were entirely covered in oil a lot of oil!

We always order in advance before opening time to avoid long delivery time. It arrived later than specified but not too bad. Food was delicious as always but one of the red Thai curry tubs had leaked, which was a bit messy to handle. We love this place though and will be ordering again.

Always the most delicious food. It can sometimes take a while to be delivered due to them being so busy. It is well written the wait though!

Great big pieces of chicken skin in the pad Thai noodles, not crispy skin either which may have been tolerable. The noodles lacked flavour too. Disappointed that a classic dish is so poor. I wouldn't recommend or go again. It's a shame as the restaurant is cosy and the staff are friendly.

chips need to be double the portion given to make them ok value. despite spending over £50 not even a bag or prawn crackers free.

My favourite restaurant in Blackpool. We have an apprentice reunion every year. This year a party of 8. I had spring roles for starter then fish and Thai curry for main course. Absolutely fantastic. See you next year 👍

First time I have been here, but I will definitely be going again. A very nice atmosphere, excellent service, and the food was really tasty. We booked an early table because we were going to a show afterward. We had a choice of the main menu or the early bird menu. We went with the early bird menu, there was still plenty to choose from and you can still get a dessert if you want one. Very reasonable prices.

we have been eating from here for a while now and the food is not as good as it first was ....thai curries used to be thick and creamy but lately have been very oily especially on Tuesdays,which is a shame as we are no looking at getting our Thai food from another restaurant.On a positive though delivery driver is great and always polite and cheerful fella

The food was ok but not traditional Thai more like Chinese. It all tasted alright but nothing special and very sweet. We had the set menu plus a few extras. The service was ok but even though we had a reservation we had to wait while they joined tables together and moved an employee's child from the table.

Usually the food in this restaurant is great however tonight’s delivery was below standard. I ordered a Thai green chicken curry but it was swimming in oil and the so called stirred fried ginger delicious dish was barely edible - not stirred fried, swimming in a brown liquid with hardly any vegetables mentioned in the description. Very disappointing I am hoping it’s a one off bad day in the restaurant

We arrived and were seated very quickly. The service was slow, took 15 minutes to be asked if we wanted a drink a further 20 minutes to be asked if we were ready to order. The starters were okay, maybe a 6/10 this wasn’t any better than you’d heat up in a microwave at home. A 6/10 is me being a generous as I can possibly be, in reality it would probably sit more realistically at a 3 or 4/10. It doesn’t get better, this was unfortunately the highlight of the culinary experience. Factoring in the ratings this place had, I can only assume the chef was off work when we visited and they had to provide ready meals from Iceland or Sainsbury’s. In fairness these would have tasted better and more authentic. The main course was just water and ‘well cooked’ tofu (the only saving grace)with a Penang after taste. The other dish had rubber disguised as calamari/squid, it was horrendously overcooked and was secreted in a napkin to spare blushes. This should not have left the kitchen. I have had better from a Japanese vending machine. If you rate tap water at 0 and custard at 10 this was a 2, maybe a 3- it had an awful consistency. There were hints of flavour but this was more like a bad attempt at home cooking rather than a restaurant quality dish. It was very, very mediocre. I can’t say it was better than a 2/10 for flavour, taste and authenticity. To paint a picture- this is what I would expect if I were a cooking teacher at a high school and I gave a struggling class an assignment on Thai cuisine. This was not a good dining experience and I would not recommend this destination as an authentic, good tasting restaurant. It pains me to say but I would avoid this establishment simply based on the aforementioned reasons. Overall ratings(out of 10): Service: 4 Food: 2 Price: 6

Was late due to tech probs but at least did call to apologise and also delivery person apologised as well. The food was delicious, the only comment I have is that the chicken satay skewers did not look anything the photo on the site and there was no satay peanut sauce as stated. Also due to lateness, it’s a pity they did not offer say some prawn crackers as a sorry.

The food was really nice and tasty. Problem is the main is the size of a starter. Not value for money. Would recommend three times the amount of rice given how cheap it is. Thanks anyways, but I won't be coming back 👍

30 minutes late when we selected collection

Have ordered food from here a few times usually pretty good - tonight’s food was disgusting. Coconut Rice was congealed, soup like water, green curry fluorescent, veg mushy, chicken rubbery. I’d never normally leave a poor review post order - everywhere is allowed an off night (esp after good meals in the past) but this food was very disgusting.

Food is excellent and not too expensive!! Slow delivery, but worth the wait!

The food was very tasty, especially the Pha Nang Favourite Thai Curry and the delivery service was good. Although the portion size of the rice and noodles could be bigger, overall i really enjoyed my Thai food experience.

Reply to restaurant 5/12: The thing was that we finished our starter and waited 45 minutes for our main dishes. Your waitress even didn’t ask starter served first or together with main dishes. I don’t believe it was a cultural difference as you mentioned. Please stop using it as an excuse to cover the missing order and the unreasonable waiting time, especially when they only served two tables. To be honest, I really don’t want others suffering the same experience like us. Hope this could be finally addressed. *********************************************** We ordered the raw king prawn salad, Thai stir-fried noodles, and green curry rice. It was kinda frustrating because even though we got there before another table, their food came out first just because they went for a simpler curry, but we ordered green curry too, but we had to wait 45 minutes, and guess what? The prawn salad was missing. No way that salad needed that long to cook, right? So, we decided to skip it. And the food quality? Total disaster. The stir-fried noodles were way too sweet for my taste. Couldn’t handle it. And the chicken in the green curry? Super bland and chewy. Left all the chicken on the plates. My son had a chocolate ice cream, one single scoop, and the waitress still double-checked with us when bringing it. When we paid the bill with £70 cash for around £58.xx total, they messed up the change – gave us just £1.xx. I had to tell them we paid £70, and they finally corrected it. Imagine, only two tables, but it took forever and so many mistakes. Good luck if you’re thinking about trying this place.

If you want Thia food in Blackpool, it is good. Reliable. Nothing special. However, I would say it is a safe bet. £15 menu for starter and main for "Earley Bird Menu." 5-7pm.

Two things...one it was so cold upstairs that we were glad to get back outside where is was 2 degrees...you need to put the heating on! Second the food was good, it was slow coming and could have been hotter when it eventually arrived, I think it may have been standing. 40 minutes from ordering to started.

Lovely food / ordered online via deliveroo - came in just over an hour , food really fresh and tasty Really enjoyed trying a new Thai restaurant and an alternative curry than to one I’ve had before The spring rolls were delicious Hot wings really nice Spicy chips are spicy my lips and to give were tingling for about an hour Really well seasoned and cooked food Would order again

We've been here for the last 4 years on our annual trip to the Tower ballroom and are never disappointed. Nice friendly service, authentic Thai food, and reasonably priced.

我们是最早到达这里的顾客，但是却是最晚吃上饭的。其他两桌白人顾客比我们晚到很久，但是却比我们早吃到美食。我们等待了一个多小时才上菜。这让我们感到，或许是先给白人顾客上菜，后给亚洲人上菜？其实大家都是亚洲人，搞不懂为什么非要这样。食物是可口的，只是招待是不周的。

Fantastic Food Great Service Lovely Atmosphere

One of the best restaurants on the Fylde Coast! This is the best and most authentic Thai restaurant I've come across. I had the deep fried sea bass with a Thai salad dressing and it was lovely.

Beautiful rice but very plain was supposed to be egg fried but no salt or any flavour, ribs wer lively but very small and not enough,nice and hot and lovely quality and I look forward to trying more from the menu

The bean curd was very tasty but small portions and expensive for what you got. There was a nice relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant, possibly as it was an extremely wet Sunday night.
