Antico Forno Wigan in Wigan

Honestly it makes so much more of a difference when the staff and owner care about the food, food made in front of me a real pizza oven, and cannolis plus the owner is flying out to Italy to go on another food course so i will deffonatly be back to see what he adds on his return.

Genuinely disappointed , I ordered a 12 inch pizza and a carrot cake, it took an hour and 40 minutes to arrive . Food arrived practically cold , you could tell though that it would have been nice if hot . It was a pepperoni , salami and spinach pizza , the spinach was just dumped on after cooking from what I can see. The carrot cake was terrible ,incredibly dry to a point that the fork that came with it snapped on the first attempt of trying to tear a piece off . First attempt to ring took 4 attempts , the 2nd attempt saying line busy and the 3rd attempt being hung up on. Had to shout on the 4th call as the staff couldn't hear me. If it was hot and in decent time I wouldnt have been too bothered as the pizza did taste nice but just genuinely disappointed with how it turned out , if I go again it will be to collect myself or I will go somewhere else.

The Pizza was absolutely delicious and cooked to perfection, chips were crispy and hot fresh out the fryer. The staff were so lovely and accommodation, offering us complimentary drinks with the food. It was out first time coming here and we will definitely be back! X

Got a delivery, it was the best make your own pizza I have had in a very long time! They are cooked absolutely perfect and they taste like a pizza should taste! Very very good prices for the type of pizzas you get! You won't find better pizzas than here, especially for delivery. Absolutely brilliant food and brilliant service, I will definitely be back, this will be my number 1 spot for my pizzas! If you're after a freshly cooked pizza without the grease this is the place! 10 out of 10 stars if If I could give it. 🙌🙌🙌

Order was late so we rang up an was told the order was on the way which we then waited another 15 minutes after it being 20 minutes late all ready. Order then received however 1 pizza was burnt and the other one wasn’t cooked fully as parts of the pizza was still raw. I would avoid this place and just save yourself the hassle go to Asda and get a pizza made which is cheaper but also better and better tasting. Would not go here again and this was the first order we have made.

Been here quite a few times and the pizzas are the best you’ll get in Wigan, fantastic. We got a dinner kebab tonight along with a pizza and it was absolutely disgusting, the meat tasted so cheap & the sauces also the cheapest grades.. stick to the pizzas 👍🏼

This restaurant experience was an absolute nightmare. From the moment we walked in, the ambiance felt like a poorly lit dungeon, and the smell was reminiscent of a mix between burnt rubber and something rotting. The service? Nonexistent. We waited over 30 minutes just to be acknowledged, and when our server finally arrived, they seemed more interested in their phone than taking our order. When the food finally arrived, it was a disaster. My steak was so overcooked it could have been used as a hockey puck, and the vegetables looked like they had been left out in the sun for a week. To top it off, the dish tasted like it had been seasoned with despair and regret. I couldn't even finish it. And don’t get me started on the cleanliness. The table was sticky, and I spotted what looked like a long-forgotten crumb from a previous patron. I wouldn't recommend this place to my worst enemy. If you're thinking of dining here, do yourself a favor and run in the opposite direction. This restaurant deserves to be shut down.

After seeing all the good reviews on here thought we would give it a try. Made a big order over £70 as we were celebrating a family birthday. So quite abit of food was ordered. Gotta say was disappointed, food was bland, burnt and crispy garlic bread. Burgers dry, spag bol hardly no sauce, Some of it was just warm. Knew there was something missing rang up and they forgot one of pasta dishes. Delivery man came back and this was piping hot. Weird , not sure il be ordering again. Gutted as it looked so good on pictures.

Today we ate pizza and pasta with 8 people. Everything is freshly made and for us the best pizza in Wigan!!! Seafood pasta also recommended. We will definitely come back when we are in Wigan

Really sad at how they cut landlines when trying to order over the phone and when you try with a mobile it just rings out. Food is really lovely but it's hard to get a hold of someone to make an order especially during lunch hour at work.

First time ordering from here and will be the last. Food arrived late. Both pizzas arrived cold. I had to put them both in the oven-they don’t reheat well. Only food item that was slightly warm were the chicken tenders. Cheesy chips were cold - I suspect this was because they poured the cold sauce over them?! (Surely you’d put the sauce on the side??) - this meant we were unable to even try and reheat them.

Very good food, but very very bad delivery driver. She is extremely rude and acted like i did something wrong even though i didn’t and was smiley and nice. So will not do delivery ever again. They should will change it to someone else. I ordered by calling the Antico Forno phone number.

Not only is the pizza delicious, the atmosphere and service once you step foot in the door is absolutely on point! Antico pizzas are the closest I’ve had to the authentic Italian pizza I’ve eaten in Tuscany. Everything (even from the pizza base) is made from scratch, your pizza of choice prepared in front of you and baked in a huge stone pizza oven! The best in Wigan by far!

I found this hidden gem on a Google search. I took my daughter and her 3 friends (all aged 10 years old) for food on Friday night. The food was incredible and I mean incredible. The service was first class and exceptional. The owner (Basil) who served us was such a lovely genuine and passionate man....this clearly feeds into and motivates the staff who were also so kind and attentive. I have taken my daughter all over the world to dine and I can honestly say, the wood fired pizza from Antico Forno is one of the best we have had anywhere. The girls all ordered fresh fruit mocktails. I watched Basil cutting all of the fruit to make these mocktails for my daughter and her friends. They said the mocktails were incredible, really fresh, fruity and tasty. We wrapped up things with proper gelato. There was so much choice with the gelato, it was hard to pick so we all got different flavours. Tasted incredible. I would highly recommend Antico Forno to anybody. I am actually trying to travel back to the North West at the end of the coming week (I live in The Midlands) and tie in a visit to this hidden little gem, so I can grab a pepperoni and peppers with parmesan fresh wood fired sour dough pizza. Well done guys, keep up the good work! X

This place is GREAT! My boyfriend and I ordered food from here and it was absolutely amazing. The workers rang me to ask how the food was which Is wonderful customer service and the food was to die for. We ordered the signature pizza wich I can safely say is one of the best pizzas I've had in years. We were also given 2 free cannolis wich were again, amazing. Strongly recommend to anyone who is fancying authentic Italian and I wish good luck to this business.

Really fancied a nice pasta so came across this place…. The penne macaroni cheese is more cream than cheese, and the garlic bread needs more garlic as more of a cheese pizza. Husband had pizza and said was a little bland. Overall 50/50 whether we would return as quite pricey in comparison to the quality

Food quality drop down. When I eat pizzas first few times it was really delicious. Now pizza and pasta quality is really really not that good like before.

We had a lovely lunch at Antico Forno. The food was delicious and the apple juice was freshly squeezed. The children were so happy with their desserts. The service was wonderful and very friendly. Highly recommend it. Thank you.

Order lamb and chicken kabab only revived lamb it was cold.looked like it had been sitting under a heat lamp all day even though we ordered it at 445 and picked it up a 5, only live round the corner. Never ordering again.

The service was fast and the team was very friendly and welcoming, the price is convinience for the taste that you get its really delicious i recomend you guys. Remember the name Abdulla his your guy when you go there his friendly and welcoming.

Arrived after almost 90 minutes from ordering, had to call up to chase, where the guy at the restaurant didn’t seem to have any idea about my order, had to repeat it to him and he said it will be there asap. It arrived 5 minutes later on a motorbike, pasta was undercooked and bland, no apology given. Will never order from here again
