The best restaurants in Wyre North West

We had a family day out. Eaten here many times before Charming place Steak pudding highly recommended Friendly staff No wonder it's popular

I have been using this restaurant for many many uears and order the same every time. This evening half correct half order wrong. Half hour late, food completly cold. Called to explain this was not what I ordered. I got very frustrated to be honest as clearly they didn't and wasn't listening to me re my order. Through in the bin as food i was sent I wouldn't order or eat. Very very disappointed after all these years. Will not order again, very sad with their attitude!!!!!

Visited this place last week with my wife and it was fantastic. We both had fish, chips, peas and gravy. The portion size was very generous and the fish was cooked to absolute perfection! We got a regular sized fish, but it was huge! The batter was crispy and golden and the fish was so clean and white. There wasn't a drop of grease, it was just perfect! If I'm honest, it's the only chippy that I would go to from now on and I can't wait to go again! :)

The lady who served me was extremely rude and standoffish, the food was bland, cold and mediocre. Try somewhere else, you'll thank me later

I have had really good fish and chips from here -on 3 occasions butt not this time! Firstly the man on the till had very little understanding of the menu. I ordered haddock, small chips and mushy peas. he appeared not to understand or be able to use the till. I repeated my order - 3 times! Eventually a young man came to assist and I asked him to read back my order. He read - chicken and mushroom pie and chips!!! I corrected him and asked again for regular haddock, small chips and mushy peas. Great he said - I asked him to read my order back - he said cod, small chips and mushy peas!!! By now I was getting fed up as there seemed little appetite for good customer service. Eventually after one more attempt it was sorted out. The first guy started frying. He wore no apron, no hat or protective head wear, he didn't wash his hands. The young man on the till wore no 'food prep' clothing or headwear When the fish came out, the batter looked crispy. However when I started to eat it - the batter was not cooked, it had holes in it and the consequently fish was over cooked. The batter was crispy on the outside and slimy white on the inside - suggesting that the fat had not been brought up to temperature before the fish was put in. The chips had clearly been reheated by putting them in hot fat just before serving. The peas were good. I think the owner or manager was sitting in the background on their phone - their time may have been better helping the staff - who clearly didn't have a clue! The key to any good business is quality, consistency and customer care. This business had none! I will not be going back

On the spur of the moment, I called in for a fish in a barm. Amazing, freshly fried piece of fish in a barm cake. Superb value Will definitely return

We were a little apprehensive to order a takeaway as we were told the business had changed hands. We needn’t have worried, the food was fabulous, 4 of us chose different meals and all agreed it was exceptional. Cannot wait now to start ordering on a regular basis.

Is the mount still open I'm trying to contact them for a room to use in may we've used the Mount in the past great venue friendly staff ideal for what we needed it for the dog show people from around the world who attended still talk about it

Its quite expensive but the food is good this is a lovely shop we'll thought out ..nice to look around and the caffe is lovely

VERY DISAPPOINTING. Had to ask for sharper knives as our blunt knives couldn't cut through meat or broccoli as both very tough. Pork belly was overcooked & hard so had to send it back. Only 1 waiter so very long wait for food & general quality of food was poor. Unimaginitive & poorly presented. Joel's needs to up it's act & improve the quality of it's food & employ more staff. We will not be returning - there are far better restaurants nearby.

Visited at the weekend with friends, had tomato and basil soup, with garlic, seasalt and tomato flat bread, it wa so good, that I took my hubby there yesterday for lunch, and had the same! Lovely staff, decor is fab. Definitely recommended 👌

Ordered starter and carvery. Starter delivered to wrong table, no real issues other than I think the person that ate my starter could have been honest. Staff great and got me a new one however time taken meant i had to leave a lot of my main course as had to be somewhere. Like said staff where fantastic and had a chat and a joke with me about it all.
