Fantastic! I’m a regular visitor to this shop and I’ve never bought anything that hasn’t been perfect. From the “Cumberland curl”, a variety of marinated chicken breasts, lamb joints, bacon (including treacle and breakfast), a variety of different pies, “chilli growlers”, marinated lamb shanks and so the list goes on. Absolutely first class. I’ve been nudged into writing this review after my husband tried their new spicy lamb pie. He said it was “excellent” with “great spices”. All this with such friendly, professional, informative service. All I can say is if you’re in Windermere don’t miss a visit.

I had a bacon butty (delicious) and a couple of coffees here this morning (coffee also very good). I also bought a couple of the homemade sausage rolls and they were excellent too. You can really tell that everything is homemade by Kirsty or sourced locally. Well worth a visit if you want some high quality tasty food. They also do lovely sandwiches made to order.

We heard from an assistant in a shop in Kendal that, in her opinion, Kimi's Gelato was the best Gelato ever! According to her, it was regularly frequented by her and all her friends, so we had to find out for ourselves. After a couple of failed attempts, we finally made it to the shop. It's a spacious shop with what appears to be a relatively small display cabinet, so it crossed our minds that perhaps this wouldn't be the experience we had been promised. I absolutely did not mind being wrong on this occasion, as we were in for a treat. The first thing of note is that the incredible colours are a real feast for the eyes and then you have to face the impossible task of choosing one or more of the amazing flavours. Mel, who served us and who was delightful, was really accommodating in allowing us to test any of the flavours. I think I would have tried every one given half the chance. I chose the Strawberry and white chocolate and also the Rocher. There were surprises in every lick. Pieces of strawberry then chunks of white choc. The Rocher is a Ferrero lover's dream. Decadent and certainly not lacking in flavour and texture. We think Jon who creates these Gelatos is a genius! We are dreaming of our next visit.

We were travelling to hawkshead with our little one and needed to stop for lunch, having a google we found nikitas Bistro, and the reviews looked great so we popped in! Well it didn't dissapont,the bistro is quaint but charming and welcoming with plenty of amazing cakes on display to draw you in. The team were amazing with out dietary requests and made sure all our food was safe, they were all lovely and welcoming and we had a fab lunch, good portions and well cooked. Some vegan/dairy free alternatives which is amazing for us, we were able to do some switches to make the food safe that they were happy to do for us which was lovely. Would definitely recommend a visit 🌟

We want to thank you all for being part of Sailingdinner Cruises David an I have loved every minute of our time with you all and we will miss you but thank you for some wonderful times an allowing us to be a part of making wonderful memories ... Introduced to Oscar’s by my sister who lives a few miles from Cartmel, we celebrated my wife’s birthday with a family meal there a few days ago. Fabulous food and service and a great atmosphere. The sausages in honey and mustard were amazing. Highly recommended, we’ll certainly be back again.

The most wonderful evening from start to finish - food was sublime and staff made the whole experience extra special!! A lovely treat - and that Kendal mint cake pebble!! X

We had a great experience—fresh, tasty pizza delivered right to our campsite in Keswick. They were really accommodating and made the whole process easy. There was a good variety of pizzas to choose from, and the pepperoni was a big hit with our group. Would definitely recommend.

Staying locally and last day treat a fab cooked breakfast. Cooked fresh, lovely service and atmosphere. Would recommend a visit. Thanks.

Excellent little find ! We walked the full length of the high street and came upon this lovely little place. We had tuna salad and a tuna panini - cup of tea and a bottle of orange juice. Both fantastic ! Would definitely visit again when in the area.

Sadly this is closed now but had lovely food and their cheesecakes were amazing especially the Mars bar one, hope it comes back

Great place to stop for a coffee or another drink with great selection of cakes to meet everybody's tastes (I've loved all i've tried). Lovely owner .
