Georgia was very friendly and very helpful when making our booking with our dog. All the staff were excellent, but the young gentleman with blonde hair was exceptional. Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to get his name, he was very knowledgable and advised us on the menu with any questions we had. Nothing was too much trouble for him, and he made our visit very enjoyable without being too much. We will definitely recommend this restaurant.
I’m a local postie called Rob and ladies do an Absolutely superb leek and potato soup with local bread and banana cake. Really friendly staff. Lauren swaps cakes with me too! Go here for top grub and warm smiles. Great value supporting local businesses & community 😊🫶
We came here last year when we were staying nearby and it was amazing then and again this March. The staff were fantastic, food awesome. One of the best Indian meals we have had. Thanks again.
Such a beautiful pub
We arrived approx 1 hour early and they were happy to seat us.
We came in our camper, and for just £10 we could stay the night with electric hook up (free stay without hook up).
Every detail here is stunning, from the menus even down to the salt and pepper pots! The toilets are very nicely decorated and very clean which is always a bonus.
Will 1000% come again and recommend to everyone we know who love coming to the Lakes!
Visited 3 times in the week after Christmas and it was consistently very good! The homemade soup with crusty bread is a must. Beware if you go late the soup may have run out! Would definitely recommend the bacon roll with so much lovely bacon. Coffee is also excellent!
Wow. Forget the Ritz or anything you think is fancy in London - Cedar Manor blows it all out of the park! An incredible experience, premium feel and personal service from the moment we arrived and were greeted by the owner. Afternoon tea is served in either the lounge or dining room - we were sat at a small (would be romantic for couples!!) table in the lounge and provided the current menu (a festive afternoon tea as nearing Christmas). An amazing array of teas to smell at first and select our chosen blend (Could change to try multiple ones during your experience) - followed by an interesting soup amuse bouche (wow), a mini Christmas "roast" inspired starter, an amazing and tasty selection of mini sandwiches and to finish, of course a huge array of little tarts, cakes and the warmest, tastiest scones. An incredible taste sensation for the mouth, an intimate and romantic (but also super for larger groups and celebrations) setting and overall, the most unforgettable experience. Can't wait to return here soon - you MUST try this.
My wife and I are regular visitors to Grasmere and make a point of visiting Lucia's every time. If you're not familiar with their set up, they have a tiny takeaway shop on the village green and a larger shop around the corner where they have a few stools in the window where you can have a coffee and cake while watching the world go by. Their coffee is probably the best in Grasmere and their bacon and egg foccacias are to die for. Oh, and the cakes aren't bad either 😋. Take your own cup and you get 20p off your drink 👍🏽.
My husband searched for somewhere to eat and stumbled upon this place online. We were drawn in by the chance to have Mexican food, as well as the plethora of good reviews. We arrived close to 1500 and they were just about to close as the food had almost sold out, so we were very lucky to be the last customers of the day! (Do bear that in mind if visiting). It’s a small shop, with some bar stools and tables for eating, and take away options. Very friendly staff, and happy to give recommendations. We shared nachos, a burrito and quesadilla which was a good amount for two people with good appetites. The food was good quality, flavourful and so good! Definitely recommend! So tasty that we didn’t get any photos which is always a good sign!
Couldn’t fault it. This was my first Michelin experience. Every single dish was beautiful. The price is actually cheap for how amazing the food is. Well worth it.
Love this place, have been going since it first opened.
Style, atmosphere and location is perfect. Great views, easy walking distance to Elterwater, Chapel Stile, Grasmere and Ambleside.
Food is always delicious, good portion size and nice menu variation.
Cocktails are good and highly recommend the gin and vodka from the nearby distillery.
Staff are warm and friendly with good service.
Cosy fire in winter.
Great place, superb hosts Sam and Jane. The best haddock chowder and lovely strong coffee. Great value for money. A must visit when in Ulverston you won’t be disappointed
