Boardwalk Bar & Grill in South Lakeland

Georgia was very friendly and very helpful when making our booking with our dog. All the staff were excellent, but the young gentleman with blonde hair was exceptional. Unfortunately, we didn’t manage to get his name, he was very knowledgable and advised us on the menu with any questions we had. Nothing was too much trouble for him, and he made our visit very enjoyable without being too much. We will definitely recommend this restaurant.

Came here because of the TripAdvisor Best of Best award, and it's easy to see how it got it! Really good, flavourful food without being overly expensive or fancy. (I'd recommend the Romana) Really good atmosphere with friendly, attentive staff. Came here for our 10 year anniversary meal while visiting the area, but would be happy to come here with my family, or with a group of friends. Just an all-round great experience, fully deserved 5-stars.

Friendly, welcoming staff. Absolutely amazing food, ample portions for a fair price. The restaurant itself has brilliant views, was comfortable and staff were so attentive I could stay there all day, in fact we went back 3 times. The Desert Burger was delicious, did nothing for my waist line though, but what a treat!

Great service. Had the gluten free option boardwalk burger which was fab followed by chocolate brownie. Looking forward to a return visit.

We came here for lunch after doing the boat cruise round the lake . The restaurant was beautifully situated overlooking the lake and we were lucky enough to get the perfect table upstairs looking out over the stunning view. We all chose the fish and chips as the lovely man who greeted us said it was a really good dish . He wasn’t wrong ! The fish was really fresh and the batter was perfectly crisp and not at all greasy . The chips were great as were the little pots of mushy peas and homemade tartar sauce . The portions were very generous and we were sadly all too stuffed for desserts Lovely friendly waitress and a great vibe .

Absolutely fantastic place to eat by the harbour. This was our second visit and not only is the food great but the staff are so helpful and pleasant. Thank you all, it made our holiday more enjoyable to have fabulous steak and only wish we had room for desert.

We decided to go to Boardwalk for our anniversary meal this year after reading its excellent reviews. We were not disappointed! The staff were amazingly attentive, greeting us with a card to congratulate our anniversary, as well as some Prosecco. Not only were the staff amazing but the food was exceptional, with great portion sizes and pricing. We would definitely recommend Boardwalk to anyone looking for a really lovely evening with great food and a wonderful atmosphere with friendly staff.

Out for a meal on new year's eve. Horrible wet and windy but we had a very warm welcome. Friendly helpful staff and excellent food and drinks. Will return next time we are in the area. Thanks Jan and Mike

Simply fabulous New Years Eve lunch. From the minute I arrived until I left, the team were super attentive and helpful. The food was delicious and the steak is better than some of the meals I have had at some well known London based steak houses (G***ho). If in Bowness, it is a must visit restaurant!

Restaurant has a great location right next to the lake. Staff are friendly and welcoming. Food was very tasty and at a reasonable price. Portions are large( battered fish is huge) I would recommend this restaurant if visiting Bowness.

We were greeted with the warmest welcome when we arrived with our dog. They made a huge fuss of her and gave her treats which she loved! The service was top notch and the food was delicious. We both opted for surf and turf skewers and they were lovely with huge portions that we couldn’t finish. This is our first visit to the Lakes but it won’t be our last and we will definitely be back to this fab restaurant.

A great place to eat. They fitted us in at short notice ( we were a party of 14 ) . The food was delicious and a perfect setting . When they found out we were celebrating a birthday the staff were brilliant . Such a great find x

Fabulous! Food incredible cooked to perfection and having eating many steaks in many locations around the globe left saying the best steak ever had, the staff were brilliant, on point of for anything you need but not in your face added with a stunning location couldn’t ask for more.

Where do we begin about Boardwalk. Well firstly you always get the warmest welcome when you arrive and then the views of the lake are awesome it’s like you are sitting on the lake. And the service you get from the team is exceptional, so attentive and always checking how things are and if you need anything else. We only came for drinks yesterday but we’ve eaten here lots over the last 4 years and it never lets you down. Thanks and see you soon.

We have been dining at the Boardwalk for several years now, and don’t often comment on places unless there is a really good reason to do so - and the reason for this review is the charming Chubby, who has welcomed us and looked after us on numerous occasions. Along with his fantastic colleagues he is the epitome of service with a smile, a real diamond who makes a lovely night out a really memorable one. And that is before we mention the wonderful food and drink which has never failed to impress us. Thank you once again for making the Boardwalk our go-to night out in Bowness. Already looking forward to our next visit.

Booked a table for 15 and emailed Paul prior to arrange. Paul could not do enough to help us and responded promptly. When we turned up we had a great table with amazing view, the service I had from Paul was replicated with all the staff that night especially the guy in the shirt who was looking after our table and was fantastic. Sorry missed your name. Even accommodated for our 20 month old, going above and beyond to welcome our son. Menu was great and varied, food was really well cooked and tasty. Had a great night and will be back soon, if you do have a group it’s best to email as they will look after you.

A cracking bar, the staff are friendly and attentive and what a great view of the lake. Drinks are reasonably priced and the service is attentive. We didn't eat there but will be back.

Arriving a Windermere Marina Village it was nice that the restaurant is literally on site. The restaurant was clean and had a good atmosphere with a decent menu choice, which I understand can be a take away option too. The food was good and staff incredibly friendly. Overall a good location and restaurant.

We stopped by here twice during our stay in Bowness-On-Windermere. We only had drinks but the food other people had ordered looked delicious. The service was excellent. We were greeted by front of house and we requested a lake view table upstairs. We were lucky enough to get one on both occasions. It is full table service so you can just sit and relax. Service was excellent both on arrival and during our drinks. The view is wonderful which all adds to the ambience. It was like an Indian summer when we were there and we stayed til the sun set it was gorgeous. Definitely worth a visit…

You have to visit this place awesome food ! great views of the marina ! and staff that can`t do enough for you and are so friendly and just nice people ! They`ll remember us as one of the lads did the hot wings challenge...... not for the feint hearted though.....lol Thank you so much for two fabulous nights

Visited for lunch. Had the Superfood Salad, which was delicious. I was so impressed I came back for dinner with my wife. Cocktails and Lobster on the terrace watching the sun set over the hills. Host and servers very professional but with a chilled approachable vibe. Favourite spot in Bowness. Thanks

This spot is the real McCoy! We came here to celebrate my girlfriend’s birthday and we had the best time. Service was speedy and friendly, the food also did not take too long and was delicious. Great portion sizes and flavourful. The view from the top outside seating area is unbeatable. We didn’t sit in the bar area but just from walking through seemed like it had a great atmosphere. Would definitely visit again!

We had a beautiful lunch sat overlooking the lake. Staff were very welcoming, attentive and friendly. The food was lovely; we both had the steak and king prawn skewers, which were tasty! We would certainly recommend for a visit; next time we’ll try desserts!
