Busy cafe with lovely cosy atmosphere. Managed to get a seat inside within 5 minutes. Aiden was very welcoming and efficient. Food was lovely and good quality. Cakes looked delicious but didn't try. Coffee is amazing if that's all you need. Enjoy

Staying opposite the copper pot and after watching a constant queue of people outside we had to try it. First a takeaway coffee which we took back to the house and then to sit in. I’m super fussy with coffee and it didn’t disappoint. Staff friendly and welcoming. Lovely vibe.

We had high expectations from reading the reviews. They have all the ingredients but unfortunately they will not bend from what their computer says....& It says no. I asked if they could please exchange the black pudding for an egg? Initially "no" was the reply, but then the waiter said that the chef would remove the black pudding and bulk up my breakfast. Unfortunately my 'Lakeland Large Un' (that wasn't) was not bulked up. What turned out to be a basic sausage and egg sandwich was underwhelming. The cappuccino was average. Average quality ingredients at best. At no point whatsoever were we asked how our food was. The bathroom facilities are inadequate.

We have been to the copper pot on a few occasions and really enjoyed it. However this time was disappointing. We arrived before 12 and had to wait quite a while before someone came to greet us as you can’t just walk in. We then were told we couldn’t order from the breakfast menu as it was 12.04. Despite arriving before 12pm. Breakfasts were still coming out to other tables. I asked to change my order a few minutes after I ordered and was told a bit abruptly that I couldn’t as it was already cooking. That’s fair enough but it could have been handled better. I ordered a BLTA. No where on the menu did it say the bacon was streaky. If I had known I wouldn’t have ordered it. We had no check back to see if our food was okay. By that point we were just a bit disappointed

Whilst ambling around Ambleside we couldn't decide on where to eat and by chance found The Copper Pot. It was full and so we decided to wait the 10 minutes we were advised it would be, before a table would be available and we were very glad we did. We were shown to our table in a cosy side room with a fire which kept us nice and warm. We were served quickly and politely and I ordered the Wild Boar burger with fries and my wife ordered the Caprese Hot ciabatta with fries. We enjoyed the ambience and the music and relaxed with our drinks while we waited for our food which didn't take long to be served. The food was delicious - a taste sensation, My burger was perfectly seasoned, the coleslaw was delicately balanced with beautiful flavours and the chips were salted to perfection. By wife's meal was just as good and so we decided to order desert. I had the deep filled apple pie which was warmed and served with vanilla ice cream. My wife had Banana, baileys and chocolate cake - again both were superb and we left The Copper Pot very full and very happy with our choice of eating establishment. Well done to everyone in The Copper Pot today, I can't recommend this place highly enough. Bravo!!!!!!!!

Delicious breakfast and excellent coffee! Stopping through Ambleside on our way to Penrith after some hiking and couldn't recommend Copper Pot enough! Suitable for the coffee snobs, a range of vegetarian, dairy free and gluten free options with plenty of delicious cakes. Reasonably priced. Very friendly and helpful staff, we were made to feel very welcome immediately. Even though the menu states "We don't have a build your own menu option" staff were very happy to swap bread around, remove items, offer additional sauces etc. Plenty of dogs inside and out, we would definitely recommend (especially for anyone missing their dose of a Melbourne-like cafe) ! *One thing I would advise is arriving early on the weekend if you don't have a booking. We walked in as a group of two and were seated straight away but literally the last table free, 5 minutes after opening. Food service was quick though so people after us weren't waiting too long for a table.

Atmosphere is lovely, nice waitresses but food very average. I ordered the sweet waffles with bacon and maple syrup, they were not freshly made, just heated up shop bought waffles, and instead of real maple syrup I got something else, I don’t even know what that was, not even golden syrup as it has loose jelly consistency. My husband had full English and most of it was prepared earlier then heated up. Everything was nicely presented on the plate but the taste left a lot to wish for. Shame really as judging by the queue outside, as well as reviews we expected much better quality of food.

I had the day to myself to wander around Ambleside and decided to pop in at the Copper Pot for a coffee and a slice of cake (hubby and I are cake experts, we try everywhere). Gorgeous decor, i.e. it doesn't feel like just a painted room - it's got atmosphere. Friendly and attentive staff. And the cake, Baileys and banana cake, WOW! The customers around me were commenting on how nice their food was (yes, when you're solo, you can hear all these private conversations 😁). Try it if you're in the area. There are other popular places in Ambleside, but a lot of them lack atmosphere and charge you the earth for standard food, not the Copper Pot😉.

I would give this no stars if I could. Checked in advance that the dark hot chocolate made with oat milk would be vegan. I was told it was. It was brought out and as soon as I tasted it I knew it was cow’s milk. The waitress then came back and said it had been made with dairy. I explained I had taken a sip and there was a half hearted ‘sorry about that’. She didn’t seem at all bothered when I said I had been vegan for 8 years and do not have dairy for ethical reasons. I then asked for a refund which she appeared reluctant to give as she said it was being remade. Totally unimpressed with the awful service. DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE VEGAN OR HAVE A DAIRY ALLERGY.

Discovered this hidden gem in April 2022 and found it so good that we returned twice more within the month and many more times since! The Lakeland Large 'Un full English breakfast is the best I've ever sampled, and I've had quite a few in various places over the years. It comes with everything, including an unusual take on the classic Cumberland "sausage" in the form of a chunky patty. The place itself affords inside and outside seating, is clean and uncluttered, and the staff are refreshingly polite and cannot do enough for you. They even offer cushions and blankets in case it's a little chilly outdoors. Simply the best place for breakfast in Ambleside, if not the whole Lake District!

Absolutely love it here and always return when we visit to Ambleside. The safe are always friendly and accommodating and we never mind waiting a little bit for a table (even in the rain) as we know their breakfast is unmatched! My only slight issue is the no substitution policy - I asked for my black pudding to be removed and for an extra hash brown (which I assume is cheaper than a black pudding) but you’re still expected to pay full price for the breakfast plus extra for the hash brown. I can see that really annoying some people 😂. The coffee is also great and I really like that they take payment upfront so when you’re ready ti leave you’re not waiting around for the bill!

Three of us enjoyed brunch. Glad we booked as it was busy. 3 different meals were all nicely cooked. If I had just one small criticism , the hash brown on breakfast was a bit too fragrant with herbs , to be on a breakfast plate. But that's just a personal taste thing! Friendly helpful staff. Nice atmosphere.

What a gem! The service was nothing but great! Really friendly and welcoming. My partner and I had full breakfasts which were really nice. While waiting the waiter popped over to show off a freshly baked quiche. Couldn't resist and ordered a sliced to go. Once ready to pay we have spotted all the lovely cakes on display. Couldn't resist either and got couple to t/a. Amazing!!! Lemon drizzle 😍 I would love an option for hash brown with my breakfast, but that's because on top of cakes I love potatoes ;) Hash browns or not its a must visit when around Ambleside!!! Also coffee is yum!
