Delicious ice cream & friendly staff! Maple and pancake flavoured cream was sooooo creamy. My son’s ice cream was served with a small piece of candy floss. The cobweb ice cream was delicious too! Highly recommend a visit even on a cold and wet day!

Asked for a decaf mocha and was given the choice of white, milk or dark chocolate. Went with white chocolate and it was absolutely heavenly. All at a very reasonable choice too! Knowing the milk used has come from a local farm is just fantastic.

Brilliant selection of delicious ice cream, we very much enjoyed the waffle pieces 😋 the staff were helpful, friendly and accommodating of my sons need to have his ice cream separate from the waffle. Definitely worth a trip!

I’m a great fan of Wallings ice cream and there’s not many that compare but this ice cream is an equal. Chose Lemon cheesecake and it did not disappoint. It was delicious and creamy with swirls of lemon and chunks of cheese cake base. My new favourite ❤️ when I’m in the area.

First ice cream of the year and the best in a long time. Family run, with ice cream made on site with milk from the family dairy farm. Great flavours (some ‘unique’ ones too). Melted chocolate swirled inside the cone first is to die for!

This place is set in the corner of a picturesque village square and is family run. They have a good selection of gelato flavours and are reasonably priced.

What a fantastic little business. It was a freezing cold day but the queue was out the door and we saw so many people enjoying their ice creams wandering around Kirkby Lonsdale. Excellent value too as you get a lot for your money!

The Milking Parlour gets a big thumbs up and Otter Approval. As well as a delicious range of ice creams with Lake District themed flavours such as Kendal Mint Cake, the highlight and main contributor to the Otter Approval was the Waffle Sticks + Ice cream. The genius inventor behind these waffle sticks has solved an age old problem of how to make waffles portable and easier to eat with ice cream, simply by cutting them into strips, or as I like to call them, “Waffle Fries”. To top things off, the waffle sticks were made fresh to order. Top marks! The Otter Council has been notified that this is worth a detour if nearby, and perhaps even a special journey. If the term “Ottery” could be translated into a dish, it would be this.

We stopped in here on a very cold day and had amazing hot chocolate sitting at the little window. Minus temperatures outside did not deter 3 yo from having strawberry ice cream which was delicious. Highly highly recommend!

I could eat at The Milking Parlour everyday - though my waistline would not thank me! Wonderful choice of ‘proper’ gelato and sorbets, to suit all taste buds. We tried the waffle fries - freshly made, served warm with milk or white chocolate sauce and a scoop of ice cream. Simply delicious! It’s lovely to know that the milk comes from the family farm less that 3 miles away. It’s clear that a lot of care goes into the production of their gelato and the way they run the shop. Definitely worth a visit for a scoop or three.

Amazing selection of flavours and options of toppings. Quality and flavour were spot on with generous scoops. Waffle cones were light and crispy. Hard to choose which flavour to have but can definitely recommend the passion fruit cheesecake and the dark chocolate and ginger.

The accommodation is spotless, comfortable and top notch. The owners are welcoming, friendly and extremely helpful. Our stay was wonderful and happy family memories have been made.

I wish we’d visited earlier in the week because we’d have returned lots of times. The ice cream comes in many delicious flavours. We tried hazelnut, ginger and dark chocolate, rum and raisin and chocolate. Heavenly. If we visit the area again, we’ll be back.

I was recommended The Milking Parlour after a delicious late breakfast at The Crossing a point Cafe in Kirby Lonsdale, which was also really good by the way.I am a chef and a foodie and would say I am an experienced and knowledgeable ice cream eater.Edward was on hand to make it a real experience with his knowledge from Cow to Cone as the son of the dairy farm and the ice cream maker himself!! I was fortunate to get some time to talk to him and share the passion he has for his product. The variety was comprehensive but The Gold Top was the yardstick for me, so I had a scoop of that and one of ginger and dark chocolate.THIS is the best ice cream I have ever eaten, absolutely delicious, congratulations to all involved

Set in the lovely town, this is one of the best ice-creams we had for the price, generous portion size too. We'd recommend it to anyone who is visiting Yorkshire dales/ingleton falls.

We had been recommended to come here and we weren’t disappointed. We got super lucky as there wasn’t any queues, which I understand from other reviews is common.The owner of the shop served us and was absolutely lovely, couldn’t have done more for us and shared lots of info about the parlour.The ice cream was unreal, we had a limited edition caramel fudge brownie and it was the best ice cream we’ve had. We also had hot chocolates which were also amazing.Can’t wait to return!

Really creamy ice cream, definitely worth the queue! The nicest ice cream I've ever had actually. Only suggestion I would make is to have a list of the available ice creams in the window, as you only have a few seconds to decide once inside (one in one out due to covid).

Cannot say enough good things about this place. Firstly, the ice cream is unreal, always have an amazing selection of flavours and very well stocked. The parlour is extremely clean and well maintained. The staff are always exceptional, friendly, efficient and provide a real personable service. Love that there is the option to buy a reusable take home tub. Visitors we've had have raved about the hot chocolates and the hot waffles are sensational. One of favourite small businesses to support and worth the trip to Kirkby Lonsdale alone!! Don't be put off by queues, if there are any they move quickly and 100% worth it for the ice cream!

So good we visited twice in the space of three days. The waffle cones lined with warm chocolate are amazing! I think we will struggle to find anywhere else to live up to this!

The best ice cream shop I've ever visited, flavours are amazing , especially the Blackcurrant and liquorice, we drive 40 miles to get there.

Amazing ice cream is definitely worth the wait We came down during the corona virus situation (where we are allowed to leave the house) I came with my husband and kids and we waited for about 20 mins the wait was worth it and they had different size cones a monkey one (which my kids had) and one scoop I had with rainbow cow ice cream and milk chocolate in the bottom obviously my husband went all out and had 2 scoops but thank you to all the staff as they managed the queue really well and was very clean

Best Ice Cream I have had in ages. Excellent quality. Delicious flavours. Nice staff. Nice decor. Clean. I found service fine and not to slow like previous review. It is covid time so queues outside two people in at a time as only a small shop, but that's fine. Went at 1.30 so queue wasn't too long four couples in front. Having to return today as 18 year old daughter missed out and wants one

Really tasty icecream, but very slow service. I can understand that, at the moment, they need to be careful about minimising numbers in the shop, but they could have one member of staff coming out to take orders or serve people outside.

This is a great place to go for an ice cream. Having stopped to explore the town, we decided to come here having heard great things about this place. It certainly didn't disappoint. There was a great selection of flavours e.g. rocky road, salted caramel and the one I chose Strawberry Eton Mess, as well as great extras from the addition of melted chocolate into the cone and the extra toppings, mine was colourful sprinkles. We were very reassured to see that they were asking a certain amount of people in and that there was hand sanitiser available to put on our hands before entering. Overall, it was such a wonderful treat and certainly recommended if you love ice cream.

Despite being a showery day in March, this place was really busy, which is so nice to see. There was a great range of ice cream so I ordered a scoop of liquorice/black currant and a scoop of salted caramel in one tub (partner had a single scoop). The helpings were really generous and took some demolishing along with a couple of very good coffees.This ice cream is right up there with the best that we've sampled around Europe.Might try the chocolate waffles next time!

We stumbled upon The Milking Parlour while staying in Kirkby Lonsdale for the weekend. It is an absolute heaven! So many amazing flavours to choose from and huge portions when you finally make your mind up. The owner was super friendly when we turned in with our wet dog and pram, ‘come in’ he said, ‘the floor was designed with dogs in mind!’ We’ll definitely return, I need another scoop of the incredible salted caramel!

Second visit. Always difficult to choose flavours but always satisfied with our choices. Excellent quality and selection. The nicest little touch is the chocolate inside the cones, it's still warm when you reach the tip of the cone and it's a joy to enjoy the entire eating experience from top to tip. Thank you

Words cannot describe how much a loved our trip to The Milking Parlour. The staff are lovely and so helpful. There is so many choices of ice cream and plenty for someone who is gluten free. What is even better is they do gluten free cones and waffles. I had the gingerbread which was phenomenal.

Everything about this place is brilliant and of the highest quality. There is a wide selection of ice cream, all which look and taste amazing. My husband is Coelliac and the staff are fantastic about it, retrieving ice cream from tubs in the back just in case crumbs from cones have dropped. Furthermore the gluten free waffles are delicious! The hot chocolates and coffees are some of the best we've had.

I stopped for a post walk, pre lunch pit stop. It was a breezy autumnal day so I opted for a dark hot chocolate made from melted chocolate. Delicious. The ice creams look amazing so I need to come back when it’s warm!!

Incredible ice cream. The melted chocolate inside the cone is a nice touch, and was pleased with the generous amount of sprinkles on top! I live in Lancaster so am very used to Wallings pudding house ice cream, but I would say the milking parlour is a strong competitor!

Hands down the best ice cream I’ve ever had at this lovely little parlour (which had milking udder attachment light fittings !). When asked if I wanted melted Belgian choc on the inside of my waffle cone I knew it was going to be next level.....they didn’t disappoint. The portions were massive and reasonably priced. I had salted caramel and Belgian choc....so good!

I think the ice cream here is possibly the best thing I've ever tasted, honestly! In fact we came back to Kirkby Lonsdale just for a trip to The Milking Parlour. There's a wide selection of flavours which appear to be updated/rotated regularly. We all enjoyed the little innovation of melted chocolate inside the cone. You must visit this place.

You will not taste better ice cream with in 50 miles. Had a dinner party Saturday night and served blackberry and apple crumble with 4 different ice cream flavours. Liquorice and black cherry was a winner. What a place.

We stopped in for a couple of Ice Creams last week. The choice of flavour's and options is fantastic... I took two because I couldn't decide. The cones with the Melted Choclolate inside is a really nice touch too. Highly recommend this place if you are in Kirkby Lonsdale.

Having travelled all over the world we stumbled across this amazing hidden gem on holiday this week. It can only be said that this little shop sells the most fantastic and delicious ice creams that we have ever tasted and is a must do place to go. Shame we live too far away for a more frequent visit!! Keep up the great work!!

We queued for ages at the Garstang ice cream festival to get one of these ice creams. I'd looked round all the ice cream stalls and this one looked the best, also with the best size portions and the most interesting flavours. I tried the licquorice and blackcurrant alongside some Belgian chocolate in a waffle cone lined with white chocolate. Hubby went for Seville orange cheesecake alongside Bailey's fudge. It took us ages to eat them as they were enormous! I really don't have enough superlatives to describe the taste. They were well worth the money and well worth the long queue.

We've had ice creams at various top rated parlours but this beats them all. Gorgeous ice cream (esp the jaffa cake) and very generous servings - their one scoop is as big as two scoops elsewhere
