Beautiful venue, fantastic service and delicious afternoon tea! Unfortunately the weather didn't allow to sit in the garden but the dining room was lovely looking onto the garden nevertheless.

This was an amazing afternoon tea, such a lovely experience with delicious food and great service. Everything was top notch with an amazing selection of teas, which even tempted my daughter who had the berry burst. The food was generous, beautiful and tasty and every item was like a mini work of art. I liked that savoury and sweet food were served separately. The scones even came wrapped up to keep warm. We were too full to eat everything but it was no issue to get the leftovers beautifully boxed to enjoy at home.

We had a very lovely afternoon tea at Cedar Manor. The food was delicious. Lots of variety in the savoury and sweet offerings as part of the afternoon tea. The tea selection was good and the ones we tried were lovely. The food was superb. A lovely setting and friendly hosts.

Delicious stop for a full afternoon tea. The staff was friendly and humorous. They offer a lacto/ovo vegetarian option, which was fantastic!

Friends had arranged Afternoon tea for my upcoming 60th Birthday, and what a treat! Beautiful property, the service was first class, attentive, friendly. The Afternoon tea was superb. Each part was beautiful. Made us feel very welcome, I would go again without second thought, if you've never been, it is a must. 10/10 Thank you

Had afternoon tea with a friend last Saturday,fabulous the sun was shining we sat in the lovely garden and everything was beautiful will definitely go back the attention to detail and service 10 out 10

This review is strictly on the afternoon tea experience only. The food was absolutely wonderful, the lady who served food and the male staff (presumed the owner) were both very kind and friendly. I felt that the afternoon tea was an absolute treat since there was nothing to fault with, that was only until it was ruined by the rude woman who was driving past in black 4x4 (presumed female host). After we finished the afternoon tea, I decided to let my dog out from our car to let him stretch his legs before we set off, the rude woman mentioned above asked me if I was looking for a public footpath so I answered no. She then started to lecture me about the ‘no dog policy’ in the property as well as pointing a direction to the public footpath I did not ask. She drove further towards the car park and parked there, got out of her, and started to tell me off in the most rude way possible again. I explained that we just had an afternoon tea here and we’re about to leave. She then turned around started to take stuff out of her boot mumbling loud “stupid..blah blah” in the angry tone, which by the way was clear for me to hear even though I was at least a few feet away from her. I was so bewildered and frustrated at how this perfectly lovely experience went down the hill like this si quickly. Hence I took two stars off even though I did enjoy the food here. Whoever that woman was, please make sure that they cannot behave that way to a guest.

Have been to to quite a few afternoon teas this year and all are no where near the standards of Cedar Manors. Great value for more money and the standard of service impeccable 10/10

We have recently visited Cedar Manor for Afternoon Tea and it was the best Afternoon Tea we have ever had!! Being gluten free it can be hard to find places that accommodate, but this Afternoon Tea came out looking exactly the same and tasted amazing! All the staff were great and we would definitely recommend. We would love to come back!

Nous y sommes accueillis par un hôte très courtois et sympathique, heureux de nous faire découvrir le fameux Tea Time si cher au cœur des Anglais. L’expérience a été à la hauteur de nos attentes, et nous avons vu défiler les différentes variétés de thé, quelques entremets, puis les sandwichs traditionnels faits maison, ainsi que les mignardises sucrées tels que les célèbres scones. Les produits étaient de qualité et locaux. Je vous recommande leur confiture de fraise qui est tout simplement délicieuse. Bref, tant les lieux que l’accueil charmant, que ce que nous avons pu déguster, nous ont véritablement ravi ! Pensez toutefois à réserver un peu en avance. Merci pour cet excellent moment et cette belle découverte d’une tradition britannique.

Live in Windermere & would say over the years I have been to most places for afternoon tea . Cedar manor however was quite possibly THE best . Little soup to start , then mini quiche with salad , chilled beautiful sandwiches , warm scones & delicious cakes . It was absolutely perfect . Even the cup of tea was sensational . It’s 5 stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ from me . Would definitely recommend & will definitely be returning . Loved it .

Afternoon Tea to celebrate the retirement of a friend - we were looked after so well from the moment we arrived. The quality of the food and service was excellent and the attention to detail was very much noted by our small party. Such a lovely experience and exceptionally good value.

Excellent GLUTEN FREE tea, I have been given the same as my husband but gluten free and it was delicious! Years since I have something so special, the attention and atmosphere was unique!!!! Thxxxxxs

We spent a long weekend in Windermere last month and as a treat we booked afternoon tea at the Cedar Manor. What can I say, the surroundings were lovely, the owner was friendly and made us feel at ease, the tea itself was simply suberb. If you're in the area do yourself a favour and pay a visit for afternoon tea, believe me you'll be glad you did. Absolutely first class!

The location and building, speaks for itself, amazing. Now onto the Food and Tea, there are so many teas, to choose from. All unreal in smells, all the food is homemade, the soup was so delicious, I can’t even describe, how nice the sandwiches were to eat, I would literally, eat them everyday if I could, and the moose and cakes, were to die for, will 100% be back, and thank you to the staff, who we’re all so friendly and informative, made everything so relaxed and lovely.

Took my mum here for a belated mother's day afternoon tea and I can honestly say it is the best afternoon tea we have ever had. The food was all homemade and tasted amazing and there were so many tea choices. We struggled to finish it all but the leftovers were kindly boxed up for us so we could take them away. The staff were so very attentive and the manor had a warm and friendly atmosphere. Thank you so much Cedar Manor for a lovely afternoon, we can't wait to return!

We had the most wonderful experience from walking through the door to leaving. The linen, china, silverware all gleaming. We had pumpkin soup followed by a mushroom vol au vent. 4 different sandwiches which were delicious. A warm fruit scone and plain scone with homemade jam and clotted cream. 5 different deserts including a warm mini rhubarb crumble, lemon meringue pie, chocolate mousse, orange cake and the lightest puff filled with creme patisserie. We had some of the deserts boxed up, even the jam and cream were put in small pots, cakes on little trays and finished with ribbon!! All I can say is WOW, the best afternoon tea we’ve ever had. Thank you and well done, cannot wait to return.

Experienced a fantastic afternoon tea. Spoiled for choice with great selection of teas to choose from, and staff showing excellent knowledge of varieties etc, (you were even able to see/smell samples of leafs in little tea caddy’s which was great fun). Freshly made soup and savouries were delicious and there were too many of the delicious cakes for us to finish in one sitting. (Thankfully they were very happy to box what was left, for us to save for later). Absolutely loved it.Colin & Nicola

The food is supurb. Prepared with imagination and skill. Some of the very best at any restaurant in the top league. The owners also impress us; they are a joy to talk with whenever we visit there.

We eat out at least once a week in the Lake District so are keen to try places we have never visited before and last week we booked a table at Cedar Manor. It was PERFECT!On arrival we were greeted in a warm and friendly manner and taken through the the lovely bar area. The whole place has been beautifully renovated in keeping with a period property and is immaculate throughout.The bar itself with it comfortable Knowle Sofas and open fire was glorious and the bar menu included cocktails, gins as well as all the old favourites you would expect.We were left with drinks and nibbles and furnished with the menu to make our selections.Once taken though to the dining room, which is on two levels and once again beautifully appointed and decorated, we were presented with a small tomato and basil soup before our starters arrived. Our waiter was very friendly and attentive and the service, although the restaurant was very busy, was efficient and courteous.The presentation of the food was beautiful and the tastes superb.We cannot recommend the place enough for service, food and value.Wonderful!

In a lovely old building that is well decorated with high quality fixtures. Cosy lounge to have a pre dinner drink. Dining room is nice and old school in terms of service, ambiene etc. Food was all excellent, local produce perfectly cooked and well presented. Had a very nice evening

We celebrated our Anniversary at this restaurant and the the whole evening was amazing from the time we arrived at 7pm we were greeted by one of the restaurant owners Jonathon and taken into the lounge where we were given menus and asked what we would like to drink. After 5 minutes or so we ordered our food and wine, and left to enjoy our drinks and have a relaxing chat. I ordered the steak and Sheila ordered the fish which came accompanied with the vegetables of the season and potatoes, the starters of potted shrimp and king prawns not only well presented but delicious then we were asked if we would like a short break before the main was served, the presentation of the the main was just as good and the aroma that came from the dishes was heavenly and the taste as good as it looked. So plentiful we skipped desert. We had a truly romantic evening, finished off with further drinks in the lounge after. We came here to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary and was not disappointed a very romantic restaurant and the owners Caroline and Jonathon made sure we had a magnificent meal. Upon arrival we went in to the lounge and had a drink while looking at the menu, we were informed our table was ready the waiter escorted us to our table which was sprinkled with confetti letters hearts etc and a lit candle, Sheila choosing the potted shrimps with Lamb as the main and I the salmon with the steak as the main they were both cooked to perfection and the service from the staff was spot on as well. We had a truly enjoyable dinner from the minute we arrived to the time we left the restaurant.We would highly recommend this restaurant enjoy Toastmaster John

if your after that something a little bit more special with great food and wine and attentive staff then this is what you'll get from the minute you walk in until the minute you leave.a big thank you to the polish guy who served me and the chef.

I walked by this inn on the way into Windermere, and was intrigued. It looked beautiful and classy, so I booked for dinner. They did not disappoint. Upon arrival, they took me (and all diners) to a separate room to relax with some snacks and have a drink...a nice way to make the meal more of an experience than just about the food. The dining room was lovely; the service attentive without being overbearing; the bread fresh and tasty, and the fish beautifully prepared. A bit more creativity with the side dishes would make it even better, but that was a small matter in an overall thoroughly pleasant interaction.

The Food here will delight your taste buds. Everything is beautifully presented, but better still..... it all tastes delicious. I started with a vegetarian dish - spinach moose with goats cheese and vine baby tomatoes - and followed with the rump of Cumbrian lamb. Both were excellent.The homemade bread was wonderful and the complimentary soup to start was a hit.The owners - Jonathan and Caroline - are excellent hosts. They make the place very comfortable.Really, really nice evening and we would definitely return.

Wonderful meal celebrating a special birthday. From stepping in the door we were made to feel so welcome by the two excellent hosts. Great food (especially the chocolate fondant!) and reasonably priced based on the quality of food and hospitality.

We chose here for our anniversary dinner and we were impressed from start to finish! Lovely venue, service was impeccable, the courses were timed perfectly, the decoration on our table was a nice touch. As my wife is Coeliac it was good to see such a varied Gluten free menu, the food was tasty and the flavour combinations were amazing. Would happily visit again when we're in the area.

A small but perfectly formed restaurant with an exclusive approach to dealing with it's customers, the food is expensive but delicious and well worth it for a special occasion.

Staying the night with them, we decided to go for their 3 course table hote dinner menu since they were a AA Rosette restaurant. It was all very pleasant with their server Chris taking our order whilst we had pre dinner drinks in the garden beneath the spreading cedar tree after which the hotel and restaurant is named.

Every meal was professionally presented. Once my breakfast preferences were established i no longer had to request them. Meal service was always swift.This is customer service at its very best. Great ambiance and well decorated. Great interaction between staff and clientelle.

We had a lovely Sunday lunch here. Service was superb from the initial telephone booking to during service. The food was excellent and we were made to feel very welcome. We would highly recommend coming here for lunch with a family. We will be back.

Arrived a few minutes before our booking time, was greeted by the Hosts, who took our coats and led us to our table. We were allowed time to consider our menu options before advising of our selections. Our starters were soon with us and were excellent. After clearing away after he starters, we were given a short time to chat and conversate with the hosts, before the arrival of out mains. Between us we had a selection of mains on offer, all of which were well presented and very enjoyable. Upon clearing away the mains, we were asked if we wanted time before the desserts were served, so no feeling of being rushed out. The desserts were A1 as was the whole experience. We were told we could make use of the lounge or bar area after the meal and both "Mothers" were presented with gifts of excellent crafted confection. I can not put into words how satisfied I was with my visit and would happily make a return visit.

Small and perfectly formed, a diamond or Cedar Manor in Windemere. We have visited before, 6 years ago and enjoyed our last visit. The owners are the same, but the grounds and the rooms have all been upgraded and improved. Our suite had 2 rooms, the bed was super King and very high quality, as were all the fixtures and fittings. The on suite had a shower and a lovely spa bath. We stayed 3 nights and dined in once, the menu is not large, but sources quality local produce which the chef treats with care to produce excellent meals. Breakfasts are both continental and full English ( Cumbrian). Cooked to order, local and wonderful. Thick bacon, outstanding sausages and eggs always cooked the way it was asked. There aren't many rooms but the staffing levels are good and all guest treated as special. This hotel is the one to stay at if your visiting the Lakes.

Mi esposo y yo encontramos este hotel en línea por casualidad y visitamos ayer para el almuerzo del domingo; nos dieron una bienvenida cordial y nos llevaron a nuestra mesa. Hicimos nuestras elecciones del menú y la comida era excelente en todo su esplendor, disfrutamos bien. Cenamos y no nos decepcionamos. Los dos comimos sopa de apio y maíz dulce. Luego comí salmón y mi esposo comió el cordero y, para el postre, el helado de chocolate y mi esposo comió el helado hecho en casa. Galardonado y me siento un gran conocedor del buen helado y esto no me decepcionó. Para colmo, me dieron un regalo de pan de jengibre y chocolates hechos a mano de Grasmere en una preciosa bolsa de regalo que fue inesperada y me conmovió. Definitivamente regresaremos y esperamos quedarnos ya que el hotel en sí se veía hermoso por dentro y por fuera también. Si aprecias la buena comida bien preparada en un entorno encantador, entonces no te decepcionará.

Six of us visited here recently for a birthday meal for a good friend. (we didn't stay at the hotel)

We visited the Cedar Manor for dinner in late January 2019. It was our first visit, but hopefully not our last. We were greeted by Jonathon, who owns the hotel with his wife, Caroline. He made us welcome and settled us into a cosy sitting room for an aperitif. The restaurant was quiet but that was a plus for us. Our food was delicious and the level of service was faultless. We tried different starters and mains and shared a cheese platter to finish. Everything met our expectations and the dinner was out of the top drawer! We have no hesitation in highly recommending this gem of a restaurant.

We have grilled squid (fab) and Fishcakes with Lemon meringue and sorbet and cheese platter - really good variety on the wine list. Lovely Amuse-bouche - cauliflower soup and Thai oil. Service was at a comfortably relaxed though appropriate pace throughout. Lovely atmosphere.

Credit to the workers over there, because we had a trip to Windermere with family, for a treat, so we had hours of travelling, so when you want to stop over, here is the place!

Attended here with 8 family members we were looked after as if we were royalty food was out of this world, service fantastic. Great value for money was a bonus.

Great food, great service, friendly staff and a charming atmosphere. There were nice little extras included with the meal. The cost of a meal is a little above average I would say but you get what you pay for so it's woth it.

Just returned from one of the best meals we've had for ages! The whole experience was fabulous.

Intentamos ir a este restaurante cada vez que visitamos los lagos, ya que es uno de nuestros favoritos. Y mucho mejor que Miller Howe (o fue la última vez que visitamos MH). El anfitrión es muy amable y cortés, y la comida es deliciosa, con pequeños extras que hacen que la noche sea una alegría. No es barato, pero vale la pena cada centavo.

Reservé una mesa aquí por recomendación de un amigo que estaba visitando por la noche. Resultó que superó con creces mis expectativas. Personalmente recibidos y mostrados en el salón para tomar una copa y examinar detenidamente el menú, mi compañero y yo, sin colusión, elegimos los mismos entrantes y platos principales. Nos acompañaron a nuestra mesa en el acogedor comedor y nos presentaron con una sorpresa: bouche, preparando el escenario para lo que siguió. Los entrantes de cangrejo y luego la carne de cordero, cocinados a la perfección, fueron acompañados por una botella de la casa Merlot, y seguidos de postres, completaron una comida perfecta. Mi compañera estaba encantada de que compartiera su opinión sobre Cedar Manor.

We dined here last night and it was superb. Wanted something special to celebrate a special anniversary and it did not disappoint. Booked online. On arrival we had drinks in the lovely lounge and then were shown to our table. Lots of help with choosing our dishes and also great wine suggestions. Amuse bouchee was divine; everything else sublime - potted crab, haddock mousseline, pork, lamb rump. Great service - attentive but not overly intrusive. Lovely little touches (anniversary decorations on the table). Loved it and hope to be back in the future (and next time we'll stay there instead of down the road)......

Went to the Cedar Manor on a Sat night. first thing that struck me about the place was the beautiful grounds. We were welcomed by Jonathan who sat us down in one of the lounges where we had a nice chat and perused the menu.

We wanted a small intimate restaurant to celebrate our wedding. Cedar Manor did not disappoint. We had a very warm welcome and they had even taken the time to sprinkle the table with hearts etc. The service was faultless and the food was excellent. It was a perfect end to our perfect day. We will definitely return.

Dinner at Cedar Manor Hotel was a wonderful experience. Jonathan and Caroline were extremely welcoming, and saw to our every need. The food was delicious and it was lovely to chat with Jonathan and Caroline throughout the evening. Be sure to say hello to their dogs Alfie and Basil!

If you want to have dinner in style in Windermere, this is the place. You’ll place order in decorated waiting room while sipping aperitif. Interior is roomy and relaxing. We had fish starter with glasses of white wine and meat main with glasses of red. Lamb was really good while steak was little chewy. Both starters were good and each house wine were excellent. We paid 100GBP for 2 course menu for 2 person and 4 glass of wines which we thought worthwhile.

Stayed here for a few days the breakfasts were superb with good quality locally sourced food.

My husband and I enjoyed a lovely meal here, this was our second visit , first visit was about 4 years ago, we certainly hope not to leave it so long next time.we had a very warm welcome from both Jonathan and Caroline, and the lovely waitress from Liverpool , it was lovely talking to her. Both food and service were excellent and would highly recommend. I’m still unable to score on service, food and value as problem on tripadvisor for a long time, but would score 5 out of 5 for all .

I chose to have dinner here having read the TA reviews. Oddly, I was required to provide a credit card guarantee. Nevertheless we had a warm welcome and shown to the lounge to have nibbles and aperitifs whilst perusing the table d'hote menu. A lovely amuse bouche was served before our very good starters - a garlic salad and a potted crab. The mains comprised pork in pancetta and a grilled brill - both very good. The desserts were also lovely - a refreshingly sharp lemon tart and one chocolate sponge with orange sorbet. They also had Rioja Blanco on the wine list, a particular favourite for me. All in all it was an enjoyable meal, served well and in very pleasant surroundings.

This time was the most amazing short break ,we have had in a long time.A beautiful quiet ,boutique hotel ,exclusive and perfect for for couples.I wish we had stayed longer.But will be returning.

This beautiful place was tucked away, just far enough from the road to feel hidden and secluded. The gardens are amazing and wonderfully kept.

We didn’t stay at the hotel which looked immaculate, but had a fantastic dinner there. Everything we ordered was perfect and super delicious . Jonathan is an amazing gentleman who helped perfect our experience there. Great place! Highly recommend it.

Our trip to Cedar Manor was part of our honeymoon in the Lake District, and it truly made for a special meal. We were well looked after. and all of the food was excellent, perfectly cooked, and just the right amount. We enjoyed it so much that we returned on the last night of our trip, which was just as enjoyable. Thank you to the staff for making it such an enjoyable and memorable evening for me and my wife!

I will start with the positives. The hotel and restaurant are very well presented, a lovely place to be in. We were initially showed through to a lovely lounge area for drinks and nibbles. We ordered and went through to the dining room. The water who was looking after us was lovely, very helpful and very good at his job. I had previously told them it was my husbands birthday and they had made an effort with decorations on the table which was a nice touch. The starters were lovely, but when the main course came my husbands food was tepid at best. There was only us and anther couple eating and they had finished their main course so it wasn't as though it was really busy and they had lots to prepare. In all the time we have been married neither of us has sent any food back but we thought we would mention it as it wasn't cheap. There was no fuss and we were asked if we would like the food replaced, which we did. I realise this was our choice but this then meant we ate completely separately as new food takes time to prepare and mine would have gone cold.

Visited Cedar Manor again with four friends to celebrate a ‘special’ birthday. What a lovely evening we had! We were well looked after from start to finish by Jonathan and his staff, who were very attentive and friendly. The place is beautiful and the food was amazing. I would recommend Cedar Manor to anyone wanting something that bit extra special. Thank you for making my birthday so memorable. We will be back!

Jonathan and Caroline are absolutely fantastic hosts. We were seated in the lounge which was very relaxing and given some nibbles whilst looking at the menu. I was amazed that Jonathan gave me some gluten free nibbles and the menu was pretty much completely gluten free! I was so impressed at how much knowledge and understanding he had for people with dietary requirements. The whole evening was Wonderful, relaxed and the food was exceptional. My partner and I could not recommend this place highly enough. We will definitely be back!

I booked this hotel for my mums birthday. I have booked lots of lake hotels for them but after their stay here I won’t be booking anywhere else!

I attended this week with my family for a special birthday dinner. From the moment we arrived we were wonderfully looked after by Chris. Having been shown through to a cosy room we were served drinks and our orders were taken. We were shown through to the restaurant which was lit beautifully. The table had Birthday confetti on. The food was delicious from the amuse-bouche to dessert. I was given a happy birthday plate too. We then went through to the lounge for coffee by the fire, which just finished things off perfectly for us. There is obviously a great team at work here, well done. I would not hesitate to recommend this restaurant.

I really loved walking into this restaurant and immediately felt very welcomed by the friendly owner. We were shown to the bar, where we were offered drinks and snacks and shown the menu. The restaurant itself is very romantic, candle lit and intimate. However, much to mine and my partner's huge disappointment, the food (starter and main) just did not live up to our expectations. The hors d'euovres was lacking in any kind of substance. It was 3 king prawns served with a ginger and lemon sauce, which just didn't do anything for the pallet. It was bland.

We did not stayed in the hotel but had a 3 courses meal yesterday night and could not be happier! We felt welcomed since we arrived, service was excellent and so was the attention to details. Food was great (lamb was divine!) and they offer you a complimentary nibbles on arrival, mini soup starter and mini brownies at the end. Restaurant was really romantic and felt intimate with its lovely decor. Staff was super friendly and really welcoming. Prices were really reasonable. We could not recommend this place enough! My husband and I had dinner in the dining room at Cedar Manor while staying there last week. The meal was excellent - like Michelin star quality food. It was all very well presented and tasted great. Dining room is small and intimate (reservations recommended to ensure a spot). They started us with a cocktail in the other main room before moving us to the dining room which was nice. Service was good. All round, a very nice evening. Highly recommended.

After a last minute decision to visit Windermere we decided to book this restaurant the night before our visit. Luckily they had availability and they were extremely helpful in offering us directions as it was our first time there. Upon arrival the staff were extremely welcoming and they took our jackets and led us to the spectacular lounge where we enjoyed a drink and some nibbles before being led to our table. To begin with the soup was delicious, a lovely appetiser before our starters. Both the chicken liver parfait and pigeon breast were served beautifully and the taste was devine. Having never tasted pigeon before I was pleasantly surprised at how tasty it was. This was soon followed by our mains which were equally as delicious. We would definitely recommend the lamb! Despite being full to the brim it was too good of an opportunity to turn down the dessert and we opted for the home made sorbet and the crème brûlée. Once again these were absolutely delicious!! We had a lovely evening and felt extremely welcome at Cedar Manor. The staff here were a fountain of knowledge about the local produce and the food they serve. Over all the night and food were truly perfect!

You need to reserve as they are always full. This restaurant offers fantastic services and a bar before dinner to wait until your food is ready sipping a good drink. Food is very tasty and prepared with care and fresh ingredients.

Cedar Manor is just wonderful. We were celebrating our anniversary and from the moment we arrived everything was superb. The welcome, the food and being able to relax after a meal with a cocktail in such beautiful surroundings takes Cedar Manor to a new level. Really lovely intimate place with a few tables available for non residents. We enjoyed drinks in the lounge before a lovely 3 course meal with just enough choice on the set menu. Goats curd starter was a highlight. Nice relaxed service and reasonably priced for the quality of setting and food quality. More a special occasion place rather than casual meal.

We had gone to the Lake District for a few days and wanted a special meal and we weren't left disappointed!Lovely food and great friendly service.So lucky to find another great dining experience it will be hard to beat!

2 night stay with fantastic hosts and great food and service. Would recommend to anyone we know for this to be first choice if going to the Lakes

We recently dined at this boutique Hotel as a special Birthday meal treat whilst visiting the Lakes and were not disappointed. Great service and ambience coupled with friendly and welcoming host and owner. The food was fresh, very tasty and and well presented, with the serving staff attentive but not overbearing.All in all a great night with an excellent meal in nice surroundings.Would recommend to anyone looking for a memorable evening .

As we were staying at a different hotel that was a little off the beaten path and had two restaurants of its own to choose from, I was a little hesitant to brave driving the winding roads in the evening to dine in another restaurant. A cab was our initial option, however after a storm there was no ability to summon one, so we drove ourselves. Were we glad we did! What a lovely experience it was dining at Cedar Manor! The food was beautifully presented and tasted wonderful, using unique combinations of flavors that really hit the mark. I had the mango-coconut bhel appetizer (delicious blend of flavors) and the grilled stone bass, both of which were excellent. My husband and I sat next to another couple and struck up a conversation with them, finding that the wife had been coming to Cedar Manor for years with her family, went there for her honeymoon, and had visited with her husband periodically since. What a lovely tribute to this beautiful place! We did not see the rooms, but the couple's description implied that they were top notch. If the food was any reflection, I'm sure they certainly are. I have since checked the rooms on the internet and they seem to be just that. We were very pleased with our choice of dining (I had found the restaurant on TripAdvisor when researching prior to our trip). The staff were lovely, very knowledgeable about the food and the area in general. Definitely a must-visit, whether to dine, stay, or both! THANK YOU to Cedar Manor for making our dining experience so special!

Orders are taken in the lounge while you have nibbles and cocktails, then you are escorted into the dining room which is lit beautifully. The food was excellent, the staff were attentive but not over the top, and there was no feeling of being rushed. Once we'd finished we went back to the lounge to have coffee. An excellent evening.
