Best ice cream around! Fantastic choice of flavours, fairly priced, generous portions....cannot fault Roy's Ices! Never yet been disappointed!

Fantastic! I’m a regular visitor to this shop and I’ve never bought anything that hasn’t been perfect. From the “Cumberland curl”, a variety of marinated chicken breasts, lamb joints, bacon (including treacle and breakfast), a variety of different pies, “chilli growlers”, marinated lamb shanks and so the list goes on. Absolutely first class. I’ve been nudged into writing this review after my husband tried their new spicy lamb pie. He said it was “excellent” with “great spices”. All this with such friendly, professional, informative service. All I can say is if you’re in Windermere don’t miss a visit.

We heard from an assistant in a shop in Kendal that, in her opinion, Kimi's Gelato was the best Gelato ever! According to her, it was regularly frequented by her and all her friends, so we had to find out for ourselves. After a couple of failed attempts, we finally made it to the shop. It's a spacious shop with what appears to be a relatively small display cabinet, so it crossed our minds that perhaps this wouldn't be the experience we had been promised. I absolutely did not mind being wrong on this occasion, as we were in for a treat. The first thing of note is that the incredible colours are a real feast for the eyes and then you have to face the impossible task of choosing one or more of the amazing flavours. Mel, who served us and who was delightful, was really accommodating in allowing us to test any of the flavours. I think I would have tried every one given half the chance. I chose the Strawberry and white chocolate and also the Rocher. There were surprises in every lick. Pieces of strawberry then chunks of white choc. The Rocher is a Ferrero lover's dream. Decadent and certainly not lacking in flavour and texture. We think Jon who creates these Gelatos is a genius! We are dreaming of our next visit.

What lovely people and great coffee. A must visit if you’re walking in the area. Friendly efficient and great staff. And dog friendly.

We were looking for somewhere to stop for a bite to eat on our way up to the Lakes. We came across the River Bela cafe and certainly weren't disappointed! A lovely little place with friendly hosts and delicious food. All this and dog friendly too, which is a must for us. We had the lovely home baked, hand carved ham sandwiches. On the way back home 2 days later we couldn't resist calling in again, this time for a lovely cooked breakfast - scrumptious! We will definitely be returning and recommending to friends and family.

We were travelling to hawkshead with our little one and needed to stop for lunch, having a google we found nikitas Bistro, and the reviews looked great so we popped in! Well it didn't dissapont,the bistro is quaint but charming and welcoming with plenty of amazing cakes on display to draw you in. The team were amazing with out dietary requests and made sure all our food was safe, they were all lovely and welcoming and we had a fab lunch, good portions and well cooked. Some vegan/dairy free alternatives which is amazing for us, we were able to do some switches to make the food safe that they were happy to do for us which was lovely. Would definitely recommend a visit 🌟

The toastie we had was super tasty and I really enjoyed it. The bread was fresh and the filling delicious. It was a bit odd that they weren’t served on plates, just in cardboard holders, which made eating them awkward. The venue itself has a cool Scandi feel. Only giving 4 stars on account of the fact that it wasn’t super clean- the toilet was grubby and all the glasses/ crockery were slightly sticky

Very clean,bright and airy,great welcome,excellent food at affordable prices,and pleasant interaction with the owner.

We had a gorgeous meal in Oaks restaurant. A 3 course feast that started with Coquilles St Jacques (a wonderful mixture of scallops and potato) main was perfectly cooked lamb and, to finish, Creme Brûlée. My fellow dinner guests all had something different but every plate was clear and a lot of contented nodding was going on. Bravo!

We want to thank you all for being part of Sailingdinner Cruises David an I have loved every minute of our time with you all and we will miss you but thank you for some wonderful times an allowing us to be a part of making wonderful memories ... Food, presentation, attention to detail and service. Absolutely OUTSTANDING. It’s hard to believe the food served has been prepared by young, adult students. Certinaly some very talented chefs of the future

Introduced to Oscar’s by my sister who lives a few miles from Cartmel, we celebrated my wife’s birthday with a family meal there a few days ago. Fabulous food and service and a great atmosphere. The sausages in honey and mustard were amazing. Highly recommended, we’ll certainly be back again.
