The best restaurants in Kendal Highgate South Lakeland North West

Excellent little find ! We walked the full length of the high street and came upon this lovely little place. We had tuna salad and a tuna panini - cup of tea and a bottle of orange juice. Both fantastic ! Would definitely visit again when in the area.

This new restaurant is well worth the 5 minute walk from the town centre . Friendly husband and wife team serving delicious food at an affordable price Will definitely visit again and I highly recommend a visit

Great place for a pint with a view and a bite to eat. Fantastic place to hold your party or private event in this large space. I have been to several events held here and the food has been outstanding

Actually looking at massively rude responses from these *owners* I'm very glad I didn't order any thing more. Most of All the Good reviews are written about previous owner and that's why people think this is a good place to go. But clearly from the really terribly rude replies to any of the reviews that demonstrates a concern for its quality and customer service is replied with awful rudeness.. Based on the replies to reviews alone. If you have any sense. I'd give this place a wide berth... And find somewhere else where you are not verbally abused by the staff. Who wants to give money to people like that? Thank god it was just a coffee.

We came here one morning for Breakfast after it was recommended to us from our Airbnb host ! It was a lovely place, warmly greeted and the food was delicious - highly recommend !

I had high hopes based on reviews but I won’t be back. Chips looked and tasted like they’d been left for hours. Fish batter was greasy and fish awful taste. Fish cake was fine but that’s because it was just a heating activity.

First I went to Pizza Express, it was 16:45 on a Saturday afternoon and they turned me away because they were too busy even though there were only about 5 people in there. Thank goodness they did! I found this gem of a restaurant instead. They were happy to fit me in without a booking and the staff were lovely and welcoming. The wine was chilled and the pizza was absolutely delicious. Ditch the chain restaurants and come here instead. You won't regret it!

Stopped to have a tea, latte and a slice of carrot cake. Great service and a huge slice of cake that we shared. Great value for money.

I come here all the time with my mum its the best place for milkshakes and hot chocolate because it taste amazing and the pricing is perfect and the staff are the nicest!!

We went for breakfast to the newly opened cafe at 19 the Wine Bar yesterday (Wednesday 27th May.) We definitely made the right choice as it was superb! One of the nicest we've ever had, if not the nicest. It was beautifully presented and the products so tasty. I'm usually very fussy with sausages and end up giving them to my husband. Not on this occasion, they were so good and clearly not cheap supermarket variety. Tina and her staff are really welcoming, friendly and accommodating and the cafe itself is very comfortable and inviting. Glad we've finally found somewhere in Kendal to get a decent breakfast without having to drive out of town. Can't wait to return! Thanks to all the staff.
