Great decor - lovely art work on the walls that can be purchased - all done by the owners. Wide selection of drink including local ale. Desserts were delicious. Efficient & friendly barman - George.

Really nice and friendly place. Went with my wife for breakfast and really enjoyed it. I got the Full Spanglish and it was one of the best breakfasts I’ve ever had. My wife got the Full Veggie and she enjoyed it a lot also. Really friendly staff and warm atmosphere. 10/10 would recommend.

A great addition to Kendals social scene!More like a European cafe/bar.Local artist exhibit their work on the many walls. Also groups hold meetings there, quiz nights and live music also happen. We sometimes order Tapas from next doors restaurant Comida(same owners)rather than move.Im big into my music and found the playlists engaging. The staff are young and knowledgeable and can create a mean cocktail.Local and keep going back for more!!!

Excellent food served with a smile. Will definitely be returning or even a takeaway. Can't wait to sample the churros.

Really warm welcome. Luck Star on tap, which was excellent. Ordered four main courses (including two vegan dishes) and all were delicious and quickly prepared. Service was great. Would recommend.

As the review title says I am unsure how to rate this. Its basically a bar which serves tapas from Comida menu a few doors away. Its was obviously vastly understaffed when we went as the place of heaving and the lovely staff were trying their best to keep up but overwhelmed by the number of customers. Drinks were great. The tapas was really tasty, but bizarrely was served in plastic tubs. This was rather weird. What transpired was even weirder when we realized that people who had reserved a table in advance received table service and were served their tapas in tapas dishes. It was only walk-ins like ourselves who had to queue for ages to order at the bar who were then served the tapas in plastic tubs. So, the bar is great, the drinks are great, the staff are lovely (but overloaded), the food is very tasty. But the whole atmosphere and concept was bizarre and disappointing.

Apologies for the jargon. A great friend said “I expect tonight’s quiz will be a good one”. How bloody right. I do find it difficult not to let things overlap, so first I am going to list the good things about this quiz. The pub, £4.50 is not a cheap pint but its a bloody nice one, enough room for a dozen teams at a push, so no hiding place for modern teams, but friendly. The Landlord/Quiz host, Simon, is welcoming, humorous, articulate, generous, but amongst these great traits I perceive he is maybe the safest pair of hands in the business. We had a lovely talk afterwards, he bought me a drink! He will not tinker with the stuff unless he is sure. I keep banging on about what SpeedQuiz send is EXCELLENT. It is possible to add things that tailoring for the audience can bring net benefit. It is equally possible to go the wrong way. I am absolutely sure as I can be that Simon will not go the wrong way, but will have a pub where the tables will be booked a week in advance when he tweaks things to the right balance - As it is now, it is a pure meritocracy, great for me and teams like John and Fiona, but who wants to keep me happy! I reckon a fast track up to 15 on the last will excite all teams. What a great bloke. Where were we. Ah yes, the staff; I only met Connor (was it?) and he was sweet. I believe other staff members were in the pub participating and they were a credit. The competition was strong. I was behind after the second round, and during the apres quiz was flabbergasted to find that aforementioned Fiona and John were doing their first SpeedQuiz!! Scary. The tech was perfect, with delivery of scores and system to the handsets, and the sound was just right, maintaining the intimate nature of the pub with perfect balance. The quiz was straighter than a Texas fundamentalist (!?!) with the entire SpeedQuiz set delivered with aplomb. So there you have it, that is how to do a Quiz. The perfect start to a Cumbrian Quiz Odyssey (look at the Find A SpeedQuiz map!) I haven’t finished yet though. I’d parked above the town 3 km from the pub at Scout Scar. On the map I saw a “Pile of Stones” marked on the OS map. I had to visit. The following morning I did, and I cried like a choild. The short walk was one of the best of the many thousands I have done, It’s up there in the top bracket with Glen Nevis and the Sentiero degli Dei, Dubrovnik, Rame Head, Loughrigg… It seems sacrilegious but – just go there. And do the quiz. :) 3/5/23

Can't believe how different and improved this is from when it was the New Inn! It's now a stylish but comfy interior with lots of gorgeous plants, a really relaxed atmosphere and some great paintings on wall when we were there. We had tapas from Comida next door and were lucky to be there for quiz night - really fun (Tuesdays). Will be back frequently.
