Fancied something different for the family whilst in Kendal. We were all so so impressed. Such tasty food, incredible variety on the menu, service outstanding, excellent value for money. All felt full up with lots still left! Highly recommend for all.

This little counter shop opened in June 2023 only 100m or so from my place. I often exchange smiles with the young Ukrainian couple who run it but I am always on my way to or from town so had yet to pop in. Today I made a point of getting my lunch from here. I was told they were preparing a couple of large orders so unusually it could be quite a wait before my freshly made sushi would be ready. We poked around the menu and I chose something which would be ready in 15-20 minutes. Salmon sushi rolls and an intriguing concoction with pear and cream cheese which I duly collected 20 mins later. I had my fingers crossed that it would be worth the £13.00 I paid but I need not have worried... I used to frequent a Japanese sushi place in London which I always enjoyed but the food from Panda Sushi was the best sushi I've ever tasted. Everything was wonderfully fresh, the little packet of wasabi paste was bigger than usual and there were generous quantities of soy sauce and wonderfully spicy pink ginger slices. It was absolutely delicious and worth every penny. I had been a little worried that it seemed too quiet whenever I passed and that it might be another one of those optimistic startups which appear and disappear in a year or two, but the large orders they were preparing were a welcome sign that they're being recognised - and justifiably so. I'll definitely be back myself and I hope many more Kendalians give it a try and discover for themselves how good the food is. Highly recommended.
