Made a reservation and wven had it confirmed by email the day before, however on arrival to the restaurant the day after the email confirmation/reminder it was shut, with no contact made to myself, imo do not bother visiting as they even though they claim the guest is god, it clearly isnt by this behaviour. Very disappointed and a complete waste of time.

Couldn’t get in the Lytham Kitchen as they were full and so glad we didn’t as staff were a lot more helpful. Visited over August Bank Holiday weekend whilst on holiday in the area. Seated straight away on a large table at the back of the tea room. Menu has a lot of choice with all the food you would expect Jacket potatoes with various fillings, sandwiches, home made quiches, scones cakes etc. The prices are very reasonable especially for a town centre tearoom. I think the thing that makes it special is the attentive staff. My daughter is autistic and has communication problems but they were very kind, talking to her (not us) and understanding what she was trying to order. When our lunch came the plates were massive ! I ordered quiche thinking it would be a slice … it was a full individual quiche with salad and a pot of coleslaw. The jacket potatoes were like a full meal again served with plenty of filling, a salad and pot of coleslaw. My parents in law were very pleased to get loose tea in their pot and not the usual tea bags. Unfortunately we were all too full for dessert but from the ones we saw they looked delicious. Would definitely recommend and hoping to call in again next time we are visiting the area.

Service from all the fairly youug staff was absolutely excellent Three of us enjoyed our Sunday lunch, the fourth complained that his slow cooked beef was well overdone and lacking in flavour. The whitebait starter was very good.

We have just returned from a couple of nights in Lytham, and on our last night we ate at Red Fort, after reading great reviews, and we weren't disappointed! We ate early so took advantage of the 'Early Bird Special' where you get poppadoms and the chutney tray followed by any main course, for £13.95. I had Chicken Monchura a mild dish cooked with spices, mango and yoghurt, and it was absolutely delicious. My husband had a Chicken Bhuna which was cooked to perfection. The wines are on the expensive side, but served beautifully chilled in an ice bucket. The place itself is warm and welcoming, the staff lovely and friendly, and we will definitely be eating here again next time we visit Lytham. Thank you Red Fort!

We attended an event at the Clifton Arms Hotel which we really enjoyed. The decor of the hotel was lovely with a great view over the seafront. Breakfast was excellent - nice choice of cooked options to order as well as a small buffet of cold items to help yourself to. The car parking is limited with some spaces quite tight, but there is free on street parking along the seafront so not the end of the world.

Owners are not the original Whelans, should trade under their own name. Food can be very good or fairly bad. Hit or miss. One time an older female server soaked my chips in vinegar, went in the bin. A few times, being near closing time the manager or owner randomly gave me some free food. Last few times food was stale so have just driven to Olivers or Dawsons, since. Will likely go back for fish bites.
