Stumbled upon this place on a Saturday afternoon, 4 adults and 3 kids, and even though the place was busy we were showed to a fab large table at the back. Bit of a wait for food but we weren’t in a rush and it was definitely worth waiting for, everyone thought it was top notch including the kids!

Lovely setting, very homely and really busy. We managed to get a table which was brilliant. We ordered chicken wings, prawns, fries,Ko Phan chicken and Shakahuka bowl. Service was good and our children loved the milkshakes. The wings, prawns and fries were delicious. The Ko Phan chicken was nice but needed rice or something else to complement it for us. The poached eggs and sourdough were lovely on the Shakahuka bowl the tomato based dish was bland for us and lacking the spice you would usually have in this bowl. However we would be back as some of the food coming out looked amazing so we’d love to try more

The food here is really good, that bit different from standard cafe dishes, with really great flavours and lovely presentation. Unfortunately the service just lets it down. It's really slow and not very attentive; being shown to a table but having to wait 10 mins for a menu which you have to ask for, being left 15 mins with the menu to then be told 4 of the dishes are unavailable. It's a real shame, as the food is excellent, but it's about the overall experience. With a bit a staff training this could be improved

After a pleasant but overpriced lunch served by lacklustre staff, we went to pay at the till when we spied a Biscoff cheesecake at £5.20 a slice. Upon inspection the slices appeared quite large so we thought we’d get a slice to take away. My husband jokingly asked for the big piece at the end. Upon returning home we found that the slice we’d asked for had been cut in half. There was no mention by the staff that the slices displayed were not in fact the size of the serving. The male staff member who cut and served the cake behaved dishonestly and ought to be ashamed of himself. Needless to say we won’t be returning and the cheesecake wasn’t even that nice and I’m not saying that because we’re bitter.

I have been once before and the service was slow to say the least, the drinks came after the food and we had to remind them we had ordered them. The food was nice but the wait was long and the water glasses smelled awful. I came again today and we walked out, we were shown to a table and told to stay on the smaller one in case a bigger party came in, which was fair enough however we were asked if we wanted water for the table and we ordered tap water. We waited 20 minutes and no water was given to us and we were not asked what drinks we wanted to order in the whole 20 minutes while the waitresses stood about doing nothing as it was no busy at all. Due to this we walked out the service is shocking.

Would have awarded 5 stars as food was superb....but, as someone else posted, the 3 waitresses were miserable. Not a smile for them. Also service was extremely slow and we had to ask for the drinks menu. We had a £50 voucher for the Courtyard and when we presented it, we were asked if we had been told that alcohol wasn't included, we were not told. This is really bad, it should be written on the voucher. However, we paid what we were due and now have a credit. We will come again, but think your staff should have some training on how to treat customers.

Visited the cafe with grandchildren for lunch. The lunch menu is very limited choice and is certainly not child friendly. The staff were miserable bordering on bad mannered. The tea cake was shop bought, not homemade. The sandwiches, at £13.50 each were very expensive and poor value. Overall not a good decision to try the cafe which we possibly should have realised when other cafes were queuing to enter and this one was almost deserted. We certainly will not be returning.

Wanted to wait until I ate here to review but I may forget otherwise! If the coffee and atmosphere is anything to go by, I would highly recommend this place for all boxes. Super chilled, nice ambience and acoustics and isn't self-important in the same way that some other places in the area are. Just pleasant. Could accommodate people with disabilities and families also but perhaps not large parties simply because of the footprint - slightly more of cosy, adult space but not to the point where you couldn't bring a small family. Thanks Courtyard!

The atmosphere was relaxed and casual, and it's dog friendly. Plenty of choice on the drinks menu and I was also given a jug of water with my meal. The varied lunch menu included breakfasts, sandwiches and small plates. Some really imaginative and unusual dishes and plenty of options for vegetarians and vegans. We had a delicious lunch of spiced lamb on flatbread. One to try and copy at home. It was very busy and we hadn't booked but we only needed to wait a few minutes. Glad we waited

Waited nearly an hour after placing an order for two coffees and teo cakes. People arrived after us, were served, ate and left before our small order. Waitress asked us if we wanted to order twice, two separate servers said our order would be with us shortly (it was not). Worst service I have ever received in any establishment.

Went for lunch with friends. Enjoyed smoked chicken wrap with peri chips which was on the specials board. Great service. Will definitely visit again.

Great little bar in Lytham. Cosy in winter and a fabulous place to sit and sip wine outside in summer. Excellent service.

Family get together to celebrate a birthday. Service was great and food delicious. Great value for money. Lovely atmosphere. Gift shop and food shop offers an excellent range of goods. Good to meet the donkeys too.

After visiting Gabriella's (same business owners) across the road and being informed that they had no breakfasts available at midday (wtf) we decided to visit Black Sheep and regretfully I won't be returning. Order placed relatively simply but this is when it went wrong. Waitress took our drinks to wrong table. Waited overly long for breakfast which was also taken to the wrong table. Then no cutlery. No offer of sauces or salt and pepper. I had to go and collect cutlery from another table. Food was cold, poached egg overcooked, bacon undercooked, toast buttered (I'd like to choose whether I have my toast buttered). Honestly was incredibly poor and we chose a local business over Wetherspoons up the way. AVOID!
