Great coffee and lovely creamy hot chocolate, with a couple of scones with jam and cream to keep us going till lunch. Tempted to come back for the brie and chutney pie on the specials.

Excellent service Raf really brilliant at his job outstanding first visit will be definitely coming back.

Eight adults and one child had lunch here today. The food, service and atmosphere were all excellent and everywhere is very clean. The scones are the best I have ever had in a cafe. I Highly recommend this place if you are in Lytham!

I had a lovely made lattee my step dad had a blueberry muffin creame, jam it was deliicious lovely and warm home made by the lovely chef. Wouls recomment also felt vey relaxed while i was here full starts for all 🥰🙃🙌

Second visit here. We were served by a rude member of staff. Young, dark hair tied back in a ponytail. Very unpleasant. Because of this we won't be back.

Our 4th time here and it gets better every time! Delicious food. Service is terrific. The soft jazz music in the background makes a warm and comfortable atmosphere. Would highly recommend!

We haven’t been to the Shambles for quite a while. We usually had the Beef Lasagne. Today was no different except that the so called beef was more like a past or purée at best. It was very disappointing. Everything else was fine. The staff were very friendly. A change to proper Beef Lasagne would be advisable

Very nice server and well presented premises but we were a bit underwhelmed with the food which was not cheap! (Tea and sandwiches for 2 came to £32....) What left us both speechless however was a charge of 80p for an extra teabag...... Not sure we would return alas.

We ate here midweek and loved it! Despite the bistro being really busy, we were served very quickly and the food was delicious! It is a very nice place with a great atmosphere. The service was excellent, friendly and efficient.

I visit Lytham about 4/5 times a year and always look forward to having lunch at the Shambles, it’s a beautiful place to sit down, relax and enjoy delicious freshly cooked food by nice friendly staff. I cannot fault this place and would highly recommend. I always enjoy the chicken wrap with chips and salad 👌 absolutely perfect! I always sit outside as it’s a lovely seating area and sometimes my cockerpoo Ollie joins me and he loves all the attention from fellow diners 😁 Can’t wait for my next visit in a couple of months, Shambles will always be my go to place as I know it will be perfect.

First class food, great atmosphere and service

Me and a friend decided to find somewhere in Lytham for a spot of lunch and we stumbled across a lovely little place The Shambles. We decided to sit in the window as they had the doors open and it was a lovely day. It was incredibly busy putside and in but we did not feel forgotten one bit! There was 3 waitresses and 1 girl behind the bar as far as I could see they really knew how to work as a team it was like nothing we had seen before, a well tuned, trained and professional team that worked so well. I ordered the chicken pesto panini and my friend had the steak tagliatelle. The waitress who took our order (Amelia) was amazing, she was so lovely and caring! When our food arrived it was brought over by a different waitress she had red hair. She served us with beautiful manners and a lovely smile. Both made sure we were checked on and that the food was good. The food wasn't just good it was beautiful. The best tagliatelle my friend has ever had, full bowl and lots of steak full of flavour! Once we had eaten our meals we decided to try one of their milkshakes, I ordered the oreo express and my friend had the strawberry dream. They were MASSIVE! And full to the brim and decorated beautifully with whip cream and sauce. If your looking for somewhere to eat in Lytham this is definitely the place to go! Good prices, divine meals and the most attentive, happy and professional staff we have seen for a long time! Will definitely be visiting again soon.

This is a wonderful cafe with excellent food served by friendly, efficient staff. There is always a warm welcome and a lovely atmosphere. You can see from the number of regulars as well as tourists that it’s a fantastic place to eat. I highly recommend it.

You simply have to ask yourself on what planet does the Shambles live in terms of their prices.....I don't dislike it here, I do really quite like it but £16.95 for ' half a bowl' of tagliatelle with a few scattered mushrooms and approximately 7 slivers of the thinnest strips of ' steak ' is simply a complete rip off. And £6 for a milkshake!!!!!! The menu is underwhelming and limited and again, for the sake of repeating myself- one person...yes, me, solo, walked away nearly £30 lighter for half a bowl of pasta, fries and a milkshake. Yes yes Yes we all know its Lytham. But nevertheless- prices are NOT on point at all for the quality or quantity and extremely young staff that are never going to be sophisticated enough to deliver standards of excellence that one would otherwise expect in accordance with the prices. There really isn't ONE outstanding eaterie in Lytham. All ' OK' or ' Nice' but nothing special at all. Lytham is just all about the ambience and Al fresco dining on a lovely day etc Shambles prices now too shambolic to justify a return.

We always go to shambles lovely food and service my be a bit of waiting time in busy summer period. Great value food and drink.

We had an exceptional experiance at The Shambles. I had hot steak ciabatta which was amazing and my husband king prawn tagliatelle which surpassed expectations. Relaxed dinning experience and superb staff showcasing genuine care for the customers. We highly recommend for both delicious food and exceptional service.

What a pity this cafe is staffed by totally inept young ladies. Table 25 - one mushroom soup with sourdough and one tuna panini. Table 24 - one steak sandwich and one mushroom soup with cheese scone. Hmmmm. Not too hard to sort. However, try delivering table 25s order to table 24 and watch them start eating it. I clearly heard them order their meals but they started eating our meals. I told the waitress who returned to them, took the mushroom soup away ( after the lady had had a couple of spoonfuls) but left the guy with my panini as he was well into it. Thw soup went back into the kitchen then 30 seconds later, came back out, but to our table, minus one panini (which arrived 10 minutes later). The soup for table 24 came out 2 minutes later with the cheese scone on the side. The brains of Britain waitress asked if I would like anything with my meal - vinegar wouod be nice to go with the fries, thank you. I'm still waiting for that. What a shambles. Would I return 🤔 Maybe not!

Lovely little bistro. Friend and I visited for lunch, ordering a hot beef ciabata and a crispy chicken ciabata (so we could share), washed down with a very nice glass of sauvignon blanc. This was served with a side salad & fries. Both dishes were well presented and very tasty. Staff welcoming & pleasant. thoroughly enjoyed, will definitely return and highly recommend

Highly recommend eating here , the food is of the highest quality, the staff are outstanding, and the atmosphere is so relaxed. Next time we visit Lytham St Anne's we will definitely go again.. If anyone wants somewhere to eat and drink you should definitely go !!

What a wonderful find last Sunday 22 January. We walked into The Shables cafe and loved the ambiance and decor straight away and we were made welcome. The music was great, not loud, lovely modern decor and spotlessly clean. Lots of choice on the menus. We thoroughly enjoyed our lunch and our first visit. Amelia, our waitress was such a lovely, polite but friendly girl, she gave us excellent service. I would highly recommend a visit. We have found our new favourite eatery in Lytham. Thank you.

Another visit to this lovely cafe. It is one of my favourite places to have coffee/eat in Lytham. We had gone for a walk along the seafront and were hoping The Shambles would be open and they did not disappoint. Always welcoming, especially as we had my two little granddaughters with us. Staff are always friendly & helpful.

We booked The Shambles for our son’s 21st birthday party. From start to finish, Justyna & the team were so friendly and accommodating. We thoroughly enjoyed every minute. The food was plentiful and yummy, the drinks were flowing. It was a really well organised evening and the staff were superb. We didn’t have to worry about anything, it was all taken care of. The venue itself is so pretty and really set the scene for a great evening. Thank you!

We parked by the beach and this was the first cafe we came to, glad we decided not to go further into the centre to look for somewhere to eat, we were greeted with a lovely warm welcome, it’s a very cosy place, love the way it’s decorated, spotlessly clean and of course the main thing, the food is absolutely delicious, home cooked, fresh & hot. We had the home made cheese & onion pie, homemade mushroom soup and a steak ciabatta all gorgeous. We had been looking forward to trying on of the beautiful looking cakes, but sadly just didn’t have room left, we were so full. The service from Meghan & Bethan was excellent, friendly, warm, smiling, fun. This place deserves more stars on tripadvisor. We will definitely revisit.

The Shambles was a shambles. We approached a male staff member on arrival to ask if the dog was allowed in and were practically ignored and told they were closing - despite it only being 4pm. The man rudely brushed us off and told us they were “closing early”. Won’t be coming back.

Favourite lunch spot when we come to Lytham- have been about 3 times. Great place when it’s a lovely sunny day. We sit in the window area. Tasty fresh food and very pleasant service from the staff.

What a beautiful cafe ,lovely cream tea and not expensive

Not sure why the staff ask if everything is ok and are not prepared to do anything about a negative answer. Ordered two varieties of the cray fish and found only a token amount of cray fish on both. Still charged the full amount with a very limp apology... overpriced and badly managed…

Been to the Shambles quite a few times, first time excellent, a follow up last year with some friends and we all said poor quelity food and expensive. Yesterday my wife and I decided to give it another "fingers crossed" go, and again disappointed, so third time unlucky for the apt named Shambles. Cheerio....

This is definately our favourite spot in Lytham, always fantastic food and atmosphere. Love the jazz music. Brilliant staff that always seem very relaxed and joke with customers. That just add to experience when they remember you, your order and make you feel welcome. Highly recommended!

My family and friends returned to the shambles and expected a lovely lunch together. You can imagine my horror when I asked for extra hot water with my tea and was told that I would be charged for the hot water, I am a diabetic and need to keep myself well hydrated.I have travelled the world during 50+ years of business and pleasure, nowhere, I repeat nowhere have I been charged for extra hot water, since when did it become fashionable to victimise people of poor health? 🥴 Ian S

cant believe a restaurant can charge a 92 lady £1 50 for s small jug of hot water for her tea wgen i refused to pay and asked her to take it off thr bill the manager said she can charge whatever she wants and asked us to leave She was very rude and ignorant Disgusting

Great music and good service. We just popped in for a quick snack last Sunday and the staff served us quickly and politely. The fries with Parmesan were just lovely! A great atmosphere and well worth a visit. They had a nice selection of delicious cakes too.

Food is expensive for the quality. Cheap ingredients used in toasted sandwiches. Would have been passable if we were not paying a premium price. Will not be going back.

Lovely welcoming and attentive staff. Really accomadating. It was busy so slightly cramped but no real problem. I had an open sandwich... a generous portion of bacon and salad etc... delicious! Only downside was my personal preference would have been mayonnaise on the side... i didn't realise there would be so much. My friend had seabass ... she said it was the best. The chips were delicious crunchy and fluffy ... tasted like they used to! Big pot of tea each as well. Really nice place.

Good food however unhappy being charged £1.50 for a jug of hot water with tea and felt that after our breakfast and still drinking our tea we were there for about 35 mins we felt we had overstade our time when then kept looking at us. Not pleasent atmosphere.

Sadly l was looking forward for a lovely lunch with my daughter and time together, but sadly the food was disappointing, l didn't want to complain and spoil our time together, her lasagna was tasteless, no meat hardly, her extra salad was expensive and a token, my so called special Tai fish cakes were deep fried, l could taste the fat, so expensive but hey ho, wont visit again, cost me £40 for inferior food.

Disappointing Found the cafe very cold. Service, not the best. Food not as good as other cafés in Lytham. The lasagne was very small and no salad or garlic bread- not worth £11.99. Other Food was alright, but overall a let down. We won't be back.

No quality in the food. Bacon small and hard as if it had been reheated and my husbands cheese on toast, words fail me. Waitress playing with her hair. Such a shame, very pleasant setting but overpriced for portion size together with poor quality of produce with staff hygiene habits means we will not return. Very disappointing.

Well we ordered our food and 2 glasses of pino blush (8.95 per glass!) We sat outside almost on the pavement in the sunshine...The food was ok and had a really nice experience until the head waitress made a comment so that everyone could hear...."you can't smoke on these premises, you need go out on the pavement"! There were no signs saying no smoking in or outside this establishment! Do get me wrong I do adhere to the no smoking rules and it isn't a problem...no signs to be seen anywhere! Afterwards she asked if we had enjoyed our meal, my husband said yes until you embassed us by shouting from a far about smoking out doors! All in all the whole experience of what would have been a lovely lunch which was ruined.... PUT NO SMOKING SIGNS OUTSIDE!! will NOT be call be calling again.. I will say the waitress said she too busy to come and ask me discreetly not smoke...no excuse...our bill was £48.95 so not cheapskate clients! Spend money on signage :(

This place looks lovely but sadly it's a waste of time and money. I ordered a crumbed Lancashire cheese and sweet pickle on soda bread. What I was served was a terrible looking cheddar and Branston pickle on stale bread. A glass of elderflower cordial with soda water was £5 which to me felt ludicrously priced. The manager was not interested in helping out and sadly the whole experience left a bitter taste in our mouths. Would never return. What a shame as it's a pretty good location.
