The starter and main course was fantastic and the staff were very friendly polite and helpful myself and my boyfriend really enjoyed ourselves and felt really relaxed here

We arrived and asked to be seated outside, we were told by the manager to sit by the bar and wait 5 minutes for a table. No drinks offered, let alone taken. The manager then knocked that hard on the window from outside and pointed to a table for us! Honestly, I was gob smacked. Service was appalling, the foccatia bread was raw, this was taken away and replaced with some garlic bread, which we didn't order! The place was understaffed, after our main we had to wait 45 mins for soft drinks and a desert menu. The waiting on staff did try under the circumstances. However, poor management is to be blamed for this. We'll not be returning.

We have recently moved to Lytham & are trying all the restaurants in the town. We visited here after a long hard day & were well impressed by great, great food. Bolognese Calzone, carbonara & a mozzarella Garlic bread washed down with a cold beer. It was simply magnificent, I would heartily recommend.

Outstandingly delicious food, genuine Italian recipes and ingredients. Service is great, as waitresses are lovely 😻 and polite. I wouldn’t hesitate to come again 😋

Food is good and there’s plenty in a portion. Waitress not very professional she slapped everything down on the table with no care. The glass of champagne was ridiculously small for £12.95. It wasn’t even a half glass.

Had a late lunch at Spago restaurant, both me and my wife thoroughly enjoyed the food, if your in the area I would strongly recommend a visit, we will definitely be back next time we are in Lytham

Wr went last night to spago as it os our favourite restaurant we are always in there even on a afternoon we had the vension which was beautiful then I thought something is missing only this morning I realized there was no beetroot which is beautiful but not last night and also my husband asked twice for a twany port which never came only when I myself went up to the bar again I was very disappointed last night very

Visited with my partner over the weekend and the food was lovely. We have an 8 month old and they were accommodating providing a table with space for his pram. The staff are very friendly and no delay in service. The food was very nice - one of the best italians we have been to personally. Reasonably priced, good menu and nice atmosphere will definitely return.

Ah, Spago. Where do I begin? Perhaps with the £30 for 2 roasts and a bottle of wine deal they so generously advertised as an autumn offer, strictly excluding Valentine’s Day, of course. Because nothing says "autumn" like reminding us that this non-existent deal isn’t available on February 14th. Naturally, seeing this enticing offer plastered on their website, we decided to head over for a Sunday roast in June. A perfect plan, right? Wrong. Upon arriving, I eagerly asked the waitress for two roasts. Her response? "We don’t do roasts anymore." The table behind us chimed in, "We made the same mistake." The waitress, seemingly used to this charade, added, "Yeah, we get asked that all the time." Really, Spago? You get asked that all the time because your website is still falsely advertising the roast deal. When I pointed this out, the waitress could only muster an awkward laugh and a quick escape. Classic. With no roasts in sight, we were forced to order from the regular menu. And let me tell you, it was a financial leap. The regular menu prices were much more expensive than the imaginary roast deal. To add insult to injury, the regular menu didn’t even offer roasts - so disappointing :( The waitress suggested the ribs to my boyfriend and assured us it was a "generous portion." When they arrived, they were more like a starter with just three bones of meat. I was baffled as to why she even mentioned the portion size. The lobster ravioli was equally disappointing, with the taste of lobster almost non-existent. We went with a third friend who is gluten intolerant. She was told by the original waitress that they had gluten-free bread. When we tried to order it, a male waiter said, "We don’t do gluten-free bread," leaving my friend confused. He soon changed his mind and magically came up with a gluten-free garlic bread alternative that he previously denied existed. We had to ask twice for the outdoor heater to be switched on. And we asked for the bill three times before it finally arrived at our table. The only good thing was their goat cheese garlic bread. A Sunday outing which we were hoping to cost £15-£20 per person turned into a £35 per head spend. And not a Yorkshire pudding in sight!!! So, Spago, here’s a tip: if you’re going to lure customers with a roast offer, maybe, just maybe, you should actually offer roasts. Or at least remove it from your website! Until then, I won't be in a hurry to return.

First time having evening meal as a resident of Lytham, so embarrassed to say it's the best meal I've enjoyed here. My family all enjoyed their respective three courses, we all had a little taste of each others, and a nice bottle of Italian vino. Our server Phoebe looked after us all night, along with other diners in a busy restaurant on a Saturday night. Rest assured I would definitely recommend this place and will be back in the future. Aggressive, argumentative and rude. The customer is always wrong and the owner needs to go on a customer service and anger management course. There are much better restaurants in Lytham. Avoid avoid avoid.

Nice restaurant. Good quality food and ingredients. Early dinner. Service was good overall. Clams and Mussels were lovely.

I’ll definitely go again. The food was gorgeous and reasonably priced. The service was exceptional too, the food arrived quickly on a busy evening and the staff were nice and professional.

Dropped in after a long day for supper and chill out before bedtime. The day's special starter, oysters were fresh and served as they deserved (photo). The crayfish risotto was good, but I've had better ones (I also cook risotto myself regularly, so I might be biased 😅), the merlot full of aromas, albeit asking for a different dish to fill in (my bad). All along, I felt very well looked after by the kind staff serving.

Spot on, the food is always great, our waiter was great the venue itself is beautiful. Best restaurant in lytham by far 👌 Oh and I'm on the low blood sugar diet and they cater for this also. They were really good at tailoring the meals to my requirements.

This is mine and my partners go to restaurant. From romantic date nights to dinner with friends, it’s the perfect restaurant for all occasions. Even our 5 year old loves the food. The service is impeccable and the food is absolutely amazing. 5 stars always ⭐️

Genuinely one of the best Italian experiences I've ever had. The service was impeccable. Great food (the creme egg cheesecake was a particular highlight), and the market menu was unbelievable value. A truly well deserved 5 star review. Thank you, Spago, for a wonderful end to our mini break.

Had a lunch after a walk on Lytham Green with our dog Toby. We hadn't booked but we're welcome even with Toby. Food and service were excellent and staff polite and attentive. This is our third visit and we have never been disappointed with our meal, the service or the staff.

Friendly staff, nice ambience. 4 of us went for Sunday roast. 2 had lamb, 2 beef. Seemed good value, as it included 2 bottles of wine. The problem was the quality of the meat. Both lamb and beef had unfortunate amounts of fat and gristle. The veg was good, as were the desserts. Don't compromise on the quality of the meat guys. 😉

Visited this beautiful restaurant last night and were no disappointed! Amazing service from Pascal and his team. Delicious seafood and Italian dishes at reasonable price. We felt spoilt by the staff and compliments to the chef and their team, keep up the good work all, we had a really special evening dining with you x

Been here before and it’s always been nice, today was the opposite. Staff unbelievably rude, clearly understaffed and overbooked by a long shot. Food was average at best, someone returned as the food was cold but plate warm so had been waiting on the hot plate for some time, it was then microwaved and returned, given the meal was muscles this was far from ideal. The primary reason we come here is because the focaccia bread, however this time we were served pizza base. When we enquired (not complained) we were rudely told this is how it’s always been served, previously we’ve always ordered more this time we barely even ate a slice. Much better places to eat in Lytham and certainly better service to be had!

The food was way below average- overcooked tough fish, certainly not restaurant quality. The service was terrible and so unprofessional- we all agreed it was like school dinners! We had booked the private dining, we called to confirm in the morning and arrange balloons to be delivered. When we got there other tables were in the area and we weren’t even given one table . We pushed some together but it was far from ideal- Hugely disappointing experience all round.

We often come here for their Sunday Lunch offer which is frankly unbeatable! Not only can you feed a family of four for £30 but the food is always delicious too. We have been probably 5 times and cannot fault the food or service!

Had a fantastic Sunday Lunch here a brilliant offer of two Sunday roasts and a bottle of Wine for £30 with a choice of Beef or Lamb the food was Excellent with fantastic ingredients and the service was also faultless and very Friendly and informative give it a go I highly recommend it you won't be disappointed 10/10

Had the Grand Sharing Seafood Platter for a special occasion - fabulous. The sweetest prawns and lobster, delicious oysters and smoked salmon and wonderfully garlicky clams and mussels. Nothing was too much trouble - asked for some slight changes to accommodate taste and everything was done cheerfully and quickly. Would highly recommend.

Very expensive for what we had. Service wasn’t very friendly and despite leaving a large tip I didn’t even get a thank you. It was very busy but this is no excuse. Food was average, tapas not great and main course was a calzone which was very extremely disappointing. Maybe the fish is better? First and last visit for us

It was an anniversary meal with my daughter it was busy and we had to wait at times for drinks I had a sea food risotto - not alot of flavour, but did taste fairly fresh Staff were not consistent as some friendly and some solemn

We had a wonderful time here with my extended family (8 adults, 6 children!). The food was lovely, and the staff are a delight and great with the children.

New Year’s Day lunch. 5 adults, 3 children aged 1,2, & 7 plus a large Retriever dog. Made to feel very welcome, tables pushed together to accommodate us all and 2 baby chairs found. Lovely Illy coffee and great food; highly recommended. 👍👍

After enjoying the pantomime, we headed here for lunch, and it exceeded our expectations in every way. The restaurant's decor is stunning and creates a lovely atmosphere. All the food was delicious but the seafood platter, an absolute must-try. The staff were friendly and attentive, I would absolutely recommend.

This is the best restaurant I have been to in the UK. Highly professional team. High standard of food. Excellent setting. Will be booking again on my next visit to the UK in March 24

Great full Spago breakfast. A couple of cups of coffee each £30. No complaints. Lady serving us was fantastic.

We had a great meal, 8 of us, most on the set menu. Every single one of us said that the meal was absolutely delicious. The service was really good, attentive and professional. We'll be back on our next visit to Lytham in January. Thank you.

We stopped for lunch for a birthday celebration. We shared tapas then had the seafood platter and the ribs. Everything was absolutely delicious. Portion size was good without being too much and we thought prices were reasonable for the quality of food and service. We will return.

I love Spago, the atmosphere is lovely, the staff are wonderful, warm and welcoming and the food is not only devine but great value. From the breakfast bagal, the steak and the beef stew from the market menu, to the kids spagetti bolognase, every meal is well presented and delicious!

From front of staff to the kitchen are fantastic and the Christmas decorations are wonderful, took family this week for a meal and they said it was one of the best meals they have ever had,

First off, cocktails… I ordered a Bloody Mary, and I had to stop drinking it as it was way too spicy. In fact it was so spicy I used it on top of my oysters, which incidentally the best part of the meal. Although they were very lazily prepped, they were still attached to the inner muscle. So I may as well have shucked them myself! My pizza was, for the want of a better word, lamentable, soggy & swimming in tomato. A massive shame and sacrilege to the poor fish and shellfish who gave up their life to be part of that ordeal. My partner had a totally different experience and her food was half decent. Salmon Bruschetta, toasted Ciabatta and Smoked Salmon hardly a cause to be phoning the Michelin Guide and saying “get down to Spagó, their innovation needs recognition!” Her Cod Curry was delicious… luckily she isn’t a massive eater, so I finished off her last 4 forkfuls to fill the void left by the lamentable pizza. All said and done, I wouldn’t be writing this if it wasn’t for the lack of any kind of giving a s@@t from the FOH Manager. No check backs on food firstly, 101 of customer service. No apology in regards to the pizza, taken off the bill, yes and rightly so. Like I just stated, an apology wouldn’t have gone a miss. This place charges high Hendo prices when in reality it’s a Poundland fine dining establishment, style over substance.

Very poor and unorganised performance by Spago. I Arrived on the time of my booking and was waiting 30 minutes in the closet then came out the closet at 19:30 just for an our table. Food was okay but missed a few meals. But waitress was lovely.

Fantastic food and atmosphere. Service is above what was expected. Sea food is very fresh, and steaks are superb! Fillet steak is beautiful. Breakfast Bagel is perfect for a cold Sunday morning! Treat yourself!

We went for lunch restaurant was empty (not surprised) we orded 2 lots of tapas now I know tapas means small dishes but come on a little child would still have been hungry and it wasn't that nice very over priced only average food over priced drinks and we will never return there are a lot more better places to eat than there stay clear

Can’t fault the food or the service to begin with,but I think we were placed on the forgotten table. Half hour passed after our mains went and still no acknowledgment or even asked if we would have liked dessert. As we were out for a special occasion we both would have liked dessert and a coffee, we were so fed up up of waiting that we just asked for the bill and left. Remember in service that everyone counts!!!

Well, where to start? On arrival, we were "processed" by the chap on Reception who we now know to be the Owner. Rude doesn't do it justice! He started by saying that our table wasn't ready and asked us to wait. The place was only half full at best. Our party made their way to the window seats and I went to the Bar. Despite several Staff running around busily, there was no-one serving. I stood at the Bar and waited. The ignorant Owner knew I was there (I was less than a yard away from him) but to no avail. I waited. A lady appeared behind the Bar, looked at me, procured a bar order and then dashed off again. I waited. She came back, looked at me and started to mess with glassware. She dashed off again. I waited. Again she returned, looked at me, messed with Barware items and dashed off. Having waited long enough, I sat down with my Family. I'll be kind; I had waited over 10 minutes without any acknowledgement at all. At this point, the Owner stormed over, confronted me and suggested that I was being unreasonable. I pointed out to him that I had said nothing. He immediately began to rant that my body language was inappropriate and kicked off, telling me that they were very busy and the Staff were all working hard - indeed they were (except him). There were just not enough of them. We should have walked out there and then. Five minutes later, our order was taken and we received our drinks. We waited for our table to be procured. We had another round of drinks. Fully one hour after our arrival, we were shown to our table. I was of the distinct impression that I had been disciplined for my "inappropriate body language". The service remained slow, the food was ok. I would not have left a tip, but my Wife took pity on the Staff, so she did. I insisted that be a maximum of 50% of what we would normally tip. Our bill was £167, we paid £180 (just so you know). I hope the Owner didn't receive a penny. To the Owner: Sir, your manners are appalling. There is an English adage which suggests that "The Customer is always right." I do not totally concur with that sentiment, but it was not my fault that your restaurant is under-staffed. CAUSE. I had waited for at least ten minutes and my presence had not even been acknowledged. No apology, just a rant from you. EFFECT. We have enjoyed previous visits to Spargo. Perhaps that was because we hadn't encountered Mr Angry. Good luck with you Business going forward. I do hope that you consider this review appropriately and, moreover, the implied sentiment therein. Sadly, I don't think you will.

Excellent, prices should be little bit cheaper

Excellent Sunday lunch deal, we noticed that the Sunday lunch deal was back at spago. Amazing dinner, good size portions with a great atmosphere, the staff are always accommodating, the value is great and we will definitely be back over the winter.

Great food, service, environment, my favourite restaurant

This isn't the first time I've been to spago and definitely won't be the last , needless to say I absolutely love the service and food served , the standards of each dish is beyond what you would think, every dish is complex and indulgent in flavors and the service is excellent I have never had a bad experience and don't think I ever will. For an amazing treat take the time to travel to this amazing restaurant you won't regret it.

Dropped in without a booking, 5 people and 5 dogs, just as the staff were closing the roof and sides to cope with a sudden downpour. Accommodated us perfectly and fantastic Sunday lunch! Our 2nd visit, great service and food both occasions. Many thanks to your team!

A lovely experience. Only had a main but it was beautiful, Carbonara, seafood fregola and a lobster thermidor shared between two very lucky kids. Absolutely delicious and lovely staff.

Really enjoyed our tapas last Saturday lunchtime , it was busy with a good atmosphere sat outside on the terrace, we did not have to wait too long for hot tasty food. Reasonable prices. Will return. Would recommend.

Consistently delivers the goods, Spago has become a favourite of ours in Lytham during the short time we’ve lived in the area. Great quality food & wine ( & negronis 😵‍💫👍) and always quality, friendly service. We were well looked after by Phoebe, and had a lovely Friday evening. Spago can be what you want it to be really. Dress up, dress down, stay a short while, stay all night. Sit inside, sit outside, whatever! We’ve done all of these and felt comfortable and welcome with everything. Thanks as always! 🇮🇹 👍

Food average, The staff need to smile.

Possibly the best Mediterranean restaurant in Lytham. There is tough competition from a few others though. Lovely food and atmosphere. Wine is expensive though. Highly recommend.

First visit 10 of us I had the salmon it was perfect cannot wait to return - highly recommend Staff great we hadn’t booked but that was not a problem

Booked a table for four as we were visiting the area. The atmosphere was nice as was the decor. Staff efficient and friendly however sadly the meal was average at best. Three of us had the cod curry which was disappointing and the accompanying flat bread was over cooked. The chicken supreme was well presented.

Great range of very authentic tapas. All the tapas we had were full of flavour, particularly liked the calamari and the mini pizza. Would thoroughly recommend. Very friendly service.

Spago came recommended but sadly disappointed. Food was average and the service poor. Staff were abrupt and not at all customer-focused. Hopefully this was just a bad night for them but we won't be going again to find out

Went for lunch today, opted for tapas, calamari was dry & hard. Food just warm, husband had teriyaki beef salad, not good beef & salad was wilted. Disappointed as this restaurant was recommended to us.

First time we had dined here as we were staying over in Lytham. We went in out of the rain. Immediately we noticed there was a lovely atmosphere. My husband had a lager whilst I had a diet coke, then we chose 6 small Tapas dishes to share. They were all absolutely delicious 😋 Will definitely recommend and will definitely return 👍
