Couldn’t get in the Lytham Kitchen as they were full and so glad we didn’t as staff were a lot more helpful. Visited over August Bank Holiday weekend whilst on holiday in the area. Seated straight away on a large table at the back of the tea room. Menu has a lot of choice with all the food you would expect Jacket potatoes with various fillings, sandwiches, home made quiches, scones cakes etc. The prices are very reasonable especially for a town centre tearoom. I think the thing that makes it special is the attentive staff. My daughter is autistic and has communication problems but they were very kind, talking to her (not us) and understanding what she was trying to order. When our lunch came the plates were massive ! I ordered quiche thinking it would be a slice … it was a full individual quiche with salad and a pot of coleslaw. The jacket potatoes were like a full meal again served with plenty of filling, a salad and pot of coleslaw. My parents in law were very pleased to get loose tea in their pot and not the usual tea bags. Unfortunately we were all too full for dessert but from the ones we saw they looked delicious. Would definitely recommend and hoping to call in again next time we are visiting the area.

For many years we have spent very happy holidays in St Annes and in recent years( for the good of our health!) on nearly every holiday ( of which we have many in the resort) we have been taking a walk right along the coast to Lytham where we came across, purely by accident ,when walking along the main shopping street, a small tea room which is positively excellent in every way. At first we observed some people enjoying meals when sitting on the pavement outside a furniture shop! How strange , we thought. But on closer look, we discovered that almost hidden away behind some of the best quality furniture that anyone could wish for, there was a stair to an upper department .Included in this, is a charming tea room which offers some really good ,and indeed reasonably priced light meals and snacks What we initially saw on the pavement outside was just really an open air section of the tea room. When we walked in early this month, one of the ladies who serve there -- a lady with a North of England accent--immediately recognised us and even before we took our seats she said ''welcome I suppose you will be having your usual'' How very nice. I could go on for a long time to praise this tea room , its food for both variety and quality, and its staff , but I will leave it to readers to sample it for themselves. This month was our first visit since last October. We enjoyed it so much we walked to it in 3 or our 4 days in St Annes.

Great service and the soup/sandwich meal is lovely, also lots of people seemed to enjoy the corn beef hash. Nice quirky old-fashioned building, just watch out for the stairs if that would be an issue for any of your group. My only suggestion is to allow an area for dogs, as most Lytham people like to lunch with the pups!

Pre booked and asked for the bay window which was reserved for 1pm as we were travelling over from Southport. Home made soup and a choice of sandwiches followed by scone, cream and jam. There were three different scones, fruit, cherry and coconut and cinnamon and ginger, we tried on of each so we could taste them all. Food is freshly prepared, served on china and extra hot water provided for the tea without us having to ask. Cafe rather than formal tea room but comfortable with a good spot to watch the world go by.

We went to Molloys twice - only went to Lytham for a few days but we were so impressed with this lovely tea room that we went back ! The staff are lovely - very polite & friendly. Both the cafe & their toilets are very clean. The menu is varied & the food was very enjoyable ! My husband recommends the home made corned beef hash & I recommend the afternoon tea for one. Everything tasted fresh & the home made ginger & cinnamon scones are deliciious ! Next time we stay at Lytham we will definitely be going back to Molloys Tea Room!

I hardly leave reviews but was really impressed with the service so felt obliged! Came here yesterday and had a jacket potato with salad. I have allergies and they were really good letting me check ingredients, thorough themselves, and also went as far as rewashing cutlery to be on the safe side. Probably the saftest I have felt eating out before. The whole place is clean, staff are friendly & the food was lovely and good value for money. Will be coming here again if ever in Lytham

We visit Molloys whenever we are in Lytham, and have never been disappointed. It was sunny and warm on the day of our visit - Tuesday 12th June. We ordered a toastie and also quiche both with side salads and of course a pot of tea. As the temperature was warm, many people were able to take advantage of the seating outside. The restaurant is on the first floor as are the toilets, so this makes it impossible for wheelchair users or those who may be frail to have access to the restaurant. The staff as always were pleasant and helpful and we will hopefully return, in the near future.

Visited here with a friend today. We ordered two diet cokes and two cheese and tomato roasties. After waiting 15 mins and no food / drink served my friend went to get the drinks. Which came after a visit to store room as none in cafe. Drinks arrived and we were asked if we would like glasses to which we replied yes please. Also enquirer how long food would be. Waitress said I’ll ask. She never came back. Had to go and ask for glasses and asked again how long the food would be. I’ll check came the answer. I went to sit down. No update on the food. So I asked a passing waitress, but was overheard by the cook. Who said it’s a 30 min wait for food. I’m the only one here cooking ! No apology. Then she said u can have a refund if u want !! Miserable and rude is not the words to describe her. None of the waitresses or the young man behind the counter seemed to know what was going on and which drinks and which food was for which customers. Finally after a 45 minute wait and no drink left the food arrived. Two cheese and tomato roasties. No salad garnish. No crisps. Long long wait for a pityful offering. Will we go again. That is a resounding NO NEVER

My husband and I go to Molloys every time we visit Lytham as we have never been disappointed with either the service or the food but today was a totally different story. The Cafe was quite busy, both outside and upstairs and there was only one lady doing the food. She was obviously struggling to cope with the pressure and getting stressed, as she started getting snappy when customers asked how long their food was going to be. Two ladies sat on a near by table, had waited 35 minutes for toasties and when asked how much longer they would have to wait, she snapped " I am starting them now, there's only me doing food". Not good when other customers can hear. The young waitress was running round like a headless chicken trying to take orders and serve drinks, which meant tables weren't getting cleared so I actually cleared ours myself to make room. Several people came in looking for a table, commented on the dirty tables, then left. When our afternoon tea of sandwiches and jam and cream scone eventually arrived, it was very good, although the scone was not your typical scone. It seemed to have a cinnamon flavour and was a piece cut off a larger slab. I noticed that they where advertising for staff, so let's hope that they soon get fixed up before they develop a bad reputation.

Our first time at Molloys Tea Rooms in Lytham. (And our last.) We ordered the Light Afternoon Tea.(soup, scone and a pot of tea.) It was about 1pm and not busy. The two staff seemed unable to cope with orders. After 25 minutes my wife had to remind the staff that we were still waiting for our soup. The reply was simply “Yea”. No apology given. While we were waiting another customer attempted to order a snack meal but was told the wait would be 30 minutes. He questioned this as he did not have a lot of time to spare. Another unhappy customer who walked out probably never to return. Staff training involving customer service and a little commitment would not go a miss. All other cafes in the area seemed very busy and seemed to cope. Molloys Cafe with few customers on the day have no excuse. Management input lacking.

If you sit out at the tables in the street, as we did, you have to go inside and upstairs to place, and pay for, your order. The waitress slopped my tea, and the cappuccino was the weakest ever. If you like decent coffee, go instead to Zest or Chells, both about 100 yards away.

We called in for a late lunch on a Saturday and were greeted by friendly staff. We hadn't eaten here before and the waitress came over to sit with us and take our order as we weren't sure how to place our order. She told us its usually at the counter but as it was so quiet she came to us. Our food and drinks arrived promptly and was utterly delicious and the chef took peppers off my husbands toastie as he requested. We couldn't have been happier with our food or visit. The ladies were charming and chatty and we wont hesitate to return and try some more of the specials on their boards.

This was our second visit to Molloys, our last was a few years ago, and we forgot how excellent it was. It is somewhat hidden on the first floor of a furniture shop but despite a huge number of cafes in Lytham, this one takes some beating. The cream tea, at a reasonable price, was possibly the best my wife and I have had. The scones were full of fruit, there was ample jam and cream, fresh milk for the tea in a little milk bottle and friendly staff. The decor was also lovely and you could not ask for more. We will definitely not leave it so long before we come again.

The four of us stopped at Molloys Tea rooms for a lunch on a very wet and windy day. Entrance to the tea rooms is on the first floor of a rather charming furniture store on the main street of Lytham St Annes's. The tea room itself is bright and very welcoming, and of course the staff are pleasant and helpful. The food is all home made, and there is a lot of variety on the menu. We missed breakfast which isn't served beyond 12-00 noon. But we tasted some delicious soup - Farmhouse - and toasties for which we had a large choice of fillings. In addition to the food, we had a lovely pot of tea and some coffee all beautifully pleasantly served. We will certainly be returning. The tea shop and the toilets are extremely clean, and we commend the staff for their pleasant attitude and fantastice menu choices.

Sandwiched (no pun intended) between two other restaurants whose al fresco seating spills out on to the pavement, it it quite easy to miss Molloys Tea rooms as its location is above, and access is through, a rather high class furniture shop.Lytham, especially on a Saturday is a popular and busy town and although there are a large number of restaurants, cafes and coffee bars, they are for the most part rather cramped and not very relaxing.Molloys wins out here as they have not tried to cram in as many tables as they could. Instead, tables are spaced out giving an air of privacy to each one, making for a calming atmosphere to enjoy the food of one's choice.Speciality toasties and sandwiches comprise the greater part of the menu, along with home made soup and salad bowls. A varied breakfast menu is served until noon, and of course afternoon teas are available. All food is prepared to order and only the best ingredients are used. Sausages, bacon and all the meat products, for example are supplied by a small independent butcher/processor based in Southport and delivered on a daily basis. If the menu is not entirely to your liking the staff will do there best to provide what you would like. This was our first visit to Molloys Tea Rooms, but I have the feeling that it will be a regular feature of future visits to Lytham.

We had a lovely visit to this quirky little tearoom above a furniture shop. It has recently had a makeover and has been renamed Molloys Tea Rooms. The menu has also recently been changed. There is a lot of choice on the menu with daily specials on a board opposite the counter. We each decided to go for one of the Speciality Toasties. He had the Apple Wood and I had the Capri. The toasties come with a choice of salad, soup, coleslaw or new potatoes. We both decided on the soup as it is homemade and that day it was Cauliflower and Cheese. Both of us really enjoyed our sandwiches which were delicious with a great combination of flavours and the soup was fantastic, flavoursome and nourishing. The presentation was beautiful with a quirky little crock pot for the soup and crisps served in a wee white pail and it was all served on a slate board. The cake selection was very inviting but because we were full from our lunch we decided to have a stroll round Lytham before returning for tea and cakes. There was a fantastic selection which we found irresistible. I chose Cherry and White Chocolate and he chose Nutty Latté and we had a pot of earl grey for two. Both cakes were delicious and the tea was very good too.The staff are all very friendly and very accommodating, making the tea exactly as we asked (we are a bit odd and like our tea really weak). If they don't have what you want on the menu just ask. We had a chat with the owner who is very proud of the changes made to the Tea Rooms and rightly so. Keep up the good work! The new menu certainly hit the spot with us and we will make a bee-line for Molloys next time we are in Lytham.

We have been visiting this café for around six months now and have never been disappointed with any of its offerings. It has recently had a makeover and has a busy welcoming atmosphere. Any food you order is home made and always fresh. I think that the toasties are a must, if the one you want is not on the menu, then the staff will make just about any to order. There are other cafes close by, but to find this one you will have walk through the furniture shop and up the stairs. You maybe tempted to buy a suite while your here! Well worth a visit.

The window seat is beautiful and the staff are very friendly. The cook makes every effort as the food is presented beautifully. However, I ordered a scone and cream and jam but the cream which I had assumed was clotted, was not of good quality it wasn't thick, it was smooth more like whipped cream but not very nice at all. The scone was very nice though. I also ordered tomato soup which came with a white packet roll. I was a little concerned to find that the tomato soup had a suspicious Heinz under taste though which was dissapointing. The place itself is lovely, as is the feel and the friendly staff. The Carpet needs to go or be replaced. And the place would benefit from a lot more visitors. I feel they make a good effort but in a "Tea Rooms" rolls should be fresh and crusty, soup should be of the day and freshly made and cream should most definitely be good quality clotted. I hope they read this review and take some of these things on board. At least the cream! The cream was most definitely the part that upset me most!

Stopped by today for a quick bit of lunch, I ordered a bacon roll but had to send it back when it was served stone cold, including the bacon. Not just cold, but just out the fridge cold. Other half ordered a tuna mayo sandwich which arrived minus the mayo and accompanied by a small bit of salad and three whole Pringles on the side. Needless to say we won't be returning because the prices certainly don't match the sub standard food. Most expensive and unpleasant bacon roll I've ever had to eat.

We have dined here several times whilst on holiday in the area and always enjoyed the food, service and ambiance. This time, unfortunately, the bar and restaurant were empty when we arrived - hence no atmosphere. The duck on noodles was pretty salty - as folk who don't use salt in any cooking, or on the table, it really was far too much. The creme brulee was superb.
