From dr Barry w maiden I had the pleasure of attending Bertram’s fine food and dining establishment on sat 01 march for my sister’s birthday We all had an incredible time with the food and wine being excellent The staff couldn’t do enough for us but I have to mention the chap who took care of our every need Barry made our evening We are all looking forward to returning soon, thank you very much indeed XXX

Went for our wedding anniversary on the 29th December, the staff was amazing very friendly and helpful. Will be back soon

Went for the 2 for 1 burger on a Tuesday evening. The burger was delicious and tasty. Obviously great value. I would also like to mention the service from Alex which was professionally and friendly. A great time was had by all.

Hired the room upstairs, it was perfect the staff are absolutely amazing. They can't do enough for you and I got my deposit back which was a bonus definitely recommended xx

We have been going to Little Barista for years. On this occasion it was breakfast. If you are looking for a full English or similar for breakfast the you will be disappointed but for toast, toasted tea cakes and paninis or waffles then this is the place. The coffee is excellent and they now roast their own on the premises and you can buy roasted coffee to take home too. You don’t have to stay in as they offer a take away service at the counter too. Finally, you need to see the cake display - it is regularly changing too.

Myself, my girlfriend 2 others visited this place on Friday night on walking in the smell of damp and stale water was shocking, there was a manky hand written sign on the door stating that the place was due to close in November due to retirement ! When we was shown to our table the smell was shocking there was damp patches above our table and it was clear to see vents had been installed to allow air to flow along the joists however this meant the stinking air was released into the dining area. On ordering drinks we was told certain drinks where not available which was not a good start. I have to say the food was not too bad but far from the best I have had. My girlfriend and her friend went to the toilets, which had no lights, where dirty and smelt dreadful nearly causing my girlfriend to be physically sick. I went into the gents and it was the same no basic cleaning had been done in my opinion for a long time ! I personally think this place is not closing due to retirement but more down to the fact it needs a lot of money spending on it and they clearly do not want to bother, the staff member who served us was only a young girl and said she did not take food orders and she was only there to serve drinks so we had to wait to have our order taken. It is a good thing that this is closing down as it is dreadful place to sit and eat. It cost us over £100 for food and drinks and is over priced in my opinion !

Called in for brunch on a Friday morning as there is a fabulous vegan menu on offer. It's a lovely place inside and the two front of house staff were brilliant. Ordered two fresh orange juices, two black Americanos, a big vegan breakfast and avocado brunch with hash browns and mushrooms. Could not fault a thing, delicious satisfying dishes and shows how fabulous vegan food can be. Will definitely revisit.

Consistently good coffee, good choice of sandwiches hot or cold and cakes/ sweet treats. Lovely staff.

We visit the Mechanics for many reasons, it is amazing. The town has this superb venue. The restaurant is perfect for meeting friends for lunch, and in the evening for pre theatre dining. Our town has this facility for us, and it's well used, we are lucky to have it. Thank you

Friendly local cafe with freshly cooked food. I had a large cooked breakfast with a pot of tea. Nicely done fried eggs, 2 sausages, black pudding, baked beans, three rashers of bacon with a good portion of mushroom. The icing on the cake was a portion of fried bread plus toast. I wish more places offered fried bread! Staff were very friendly and you can tell this is a liked local British “caff” as other patrons were welcomed whilst I was eating. Plastic tablecloths were clean and tidy, and my tea pot was topped up with hot water. Don’t expect the ritz, but do expect to be full when you leave. Worth a visit.

Poor takeaway and waited over an hour to collect the food after they said it would only be 20 minutes. The kebabs came without sauce so very dry.

Ordered a meal for the family and very disappointed, first order wrong and some of the 2nd order missing and still wrong. Food quality lovely but was going cold, would be great if you sort the logistics out. Got hot wings instead of bbq, they were a shock.

During the thirty years I visited, I never had a bad meal. The staff, Kieron and Linda were fantastic. I am so sad I shall not be able to visit there again.

Very nice place & owner until there's a problem & then you're not acknowledged with his normal friendly welcome as Hello Friend!! Gone in since for Takeaway a couple of times & won't even look or acknowledge me However took my takeaway order today & again no communication Gone from brilliant to not great, & today my takeaway is normally full & didn't today fill the bottom of the polystyrene tray There was a mix up a few months ago & who ever right or wrong he doesn't give me the time of day now

Amazing place that is an important community hub for the people of Burnley. They do so much great work here to support those in need. Staff are incredibly friendly and helpful - I was fortunate to meet the manager who was proud to tell me about everything they offer. Will definitely visit again and would happily recommend.
