We ordered takeaway for delivery on Saturday night (02/07) throught uber, although the ordering process was fine, delivery arrived on and time and the food was still warm. I can't say the food was good, Everything was very spicy, inlcuding the dips and the spice all tasted the same. I was really looking forward to the food as we hadnt tried illuminati before. Very dispppinted most of it wet in the bin as both myself and my daiughter could it eat it!.

My wife suggested we eat here so we popped in on a Thursday evening. There were only a couple of tables free which is always a good sign. The waitress was lovely explained about the burger offer, essentially 2 burgers for £15. We ordered wings at 40 pence each. We got 5 chicken kiev and 5 bbq, with 2 burgers. The chicken Kiev wings are probably one of the best things I've ever had. Simply amazing. The burgers were absolutely tasty too. The only criticism is the beer on tap is very limited, but Asahi is nice. Staff were great and the food was great, and very reasonably priced. There's not a bad thing I could say about it. Can't wait to go back.

We turned up last minute without a reservation and were warmly greeted by Lou and seated straight away. Lou was attentive at all times despite being the only member of staff serving both food and drinks. The service provided was amazing throughout and we didn't have to wait long to get drinks or food. The atmosphere was great and we love the quirky decor! We thoroughly enjoyed the food that we ordered, everything tasted so good! The food was hot, delicious and the portion sizes were just right. We would definitely go again and would recommend this place to anyone looking for a great meal in Burnley - thank you Lou and team for a great meal.

Absolutely beautiful food delivered, the Christmas roast dinner was amazing came piping hot and plenty of it too, beautiful thick slices of gammon and turkey and pigs in blankets and Yorkshire pudding perfect! Arrived within half an hour 5*

We recently visited Illuminati for drinks and well what can I say. The cocktails were amazing. Kayleigh was on the bar preparing our cocktails and they were out of this world. You could really see that Kayleigh loved her job and took pride in preparing her cocktails. The extra attention to detail goes a long way x

Came here for a night out recently and Chick on the doors was very friendly and welcoming. Ensured everyone entered the building promptly and efficiently as the weather wasn't the best! Saved my hair from getting wet and the cocktails are pretty decent aswell!

Wanted to try a something different for a take away. Ordered through Just Eat arrived on time. Salt and pepper squid was undercooked and impossible to chew. Nachos really soggy overloaded with too much topping so couldn’t pick them up. Everything else was just ok.

Visited last Thursday with friends due to the 40% off food orders offer. I had the black pudding Bon bons and garlic mushroom to start. The batter on the Bon Bons was barely crisp and could perhaps been cooked a little longer. The garlic mushrooms were beautiful and couldn’t fault them at all. For mains I had a steak kebab, the meat was a little tough and hard to cut and the chips were cold. The peppercorn sauce was lovely and so was the wine. Can’t grumble for what we paid but I don’t think I’d pay full price for the kebab.

Well where to start with this place.... I have never had to write such a negative review or an email of complaint as I have had to with this place. As a group of 4 adults and 3 children, I could not believe what unfolded.

Firstly it was cold in there, a blanket on hand was available. Chicken burger was nice and a decent size, tender as expected but far too much rocket salad. I had no need to order the extra salad as my chicken on bread also had copious amounts of the same salad. Oh the extra salad portion included a drizzle of balsamic dressing. The till was also broken so I went and got cash to save any more wait to pay. Cost nearly 30 quid with 2 soft drinks and that was 50% off. Waitress was friendly hence 3*.overall disappointing for price..

Went last night with a group of 7 people. Food was good and the service quite fast, but the place was freezing. We all ate in our coats. I do realise it is very cold at the moment, but you do not except to go out for something to eat, and be freezing sat eating it.

Went here after a recommendation. It feels quite industrial inside but that's OK. Younger crowd. Not the most comfortable of tables/chairs but it goes with style. Booths looked more comfortable. Menu was tapas and then burgers, kebabs, flatbreads. We tried a few things and all was good. Tasty food and plenty of it. Prices were very sensible for food and drink. Staff were all very friendly. Definitely worth a visit.

I love it here, the food is delicious and really reasonable! Always playing with new flavours and options on the menu, I love the tapas and hanging kebabs! Drinks are fab - again lots of choice and will mix you up something special if your not sure or want to try something different. Feels like somewhere you might find in a city, quirky fun and tasty without the silly price tag! Would definitely recommend.

I’ve known about this restaurant/bar for a while but never been as I thought it might be too young four us We finally went last night with my son and his girlfriend - it was a pleasant surprise. The staff were all lovely, the industrial styled interior is quite funky and they played great music in the background, but what we didn’t expect is that the food would be top notch - it was delicious - we all loved our food (I would have like a bit more asparagus with the chicken but the sauce on the chicken was delicious ❤️ thumbs up for this Burnley town centre bar/restaurant - we’ll be back. Only reason I didn’t give a top score is because they don’t serve tea or coffee. We had lovely cocktails but my partner doesn’t drink. We’ll definitely be going again.

We went for the first time yesterday evening after hearing great reviews. This is THE best restaurant in Burnley in my opinion. I'd eat here for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. I couldn't improve the food in any way, great beer, and lovely staff. We was pleasantly surprised when we paid the bill and there was 40% off, just because it was Wednesday.

Visited illuminati with a couple of friends this week, whoever decided on the decor did an amazing job, loved the copper tables .. Enjoyed a few different cocktails off the menu and had the steak skewers which were cooked to perfection, Hats off to the chef!

Came with a friend for some mid week food and drinks and Illuminati certainly didn’t disappoint. We had starters to share and the kebabs for our main which were all delicious. The new bang bang chicken has the perfect flavour and spicy kick!

This little gem wouldn’t look out of place in the centre of Manchester. With its quirky interior design and laid back atmosphere. The food was absolutely faultless. Full of flavour. Everything was cooked to perfection. Including my steak which was exactly how I asked for it to be cooked. The cocktails are also fabulous! They take care with attention to detail with everything. Right down to the flower sitting on top of the cocktail and the quirky plant pot my sisters drink was presented in! The prices are very, very reasonable for the high standard of food and drink that is provided. The food really does rival some of the top eateries available within the area. Thank you for fantastic food and drinks and a lovely warm atmosphere! We will definitely be returning and will recommend to friends and family.

Me and my partner won a free table here and the food was 2nd to none! I had the garlic mushrooms and she the king prawns the start. Thabout it was perfect. All in all it was absolutely gorgeous. The staff were brilliant, attentive and nothing was too much to ask. We will define sauce over the mushrooms was to die for. For mains I had the hanging kebab with garlic butter sauce my partner had ribeye steak. The steak was cooked to perfection, crispy on the outside but rare in the middle, she also had a blue cheese sauce which she hasn't shut up itely be back!! P.s the cocktails are also 10/10. Couldn't recommend the place enough. Brilliant staff, food, atmosphere and cocktails! What more can you ask for

I went to illuminati for a Mother’s Day meal, there was a set menu. We had 1 confit duck and 3 tempura prawns between 4 of us. The duck was cooked perfectly and was delicious! The prawns also were cooked perfectly with a lovely tempura batter! We then all had a Sunday roast dinner. The beef was beautiful and pink and the chicken was lovely and moist. Followed by desserts which were to die for! Absolutely perfect couldn’t find a fault. 10/10! Staff very attentive and a lovely selection of wines and cocktails would definitely recommend to all and will be going back in the near future!

Visited with a friend for a teatime catch up. We picked Illuminati as it had an offer for 2 for 1 on hanging kebabs. We hadn’t booked but they managed to find us a table. Staff were friendly and once seated brought us clipboards to complete our menu choices!! Sorry I don’t care how trendy your trying to be this is not a good idea. And although staff did explain what we needed to do, it was still confusing, if unlike your staff, don’t do it every day. But once we checked we had done it correctly we then had to go back to the bar to hand in.

Myself and 4 friends went here last Saturday for a meal and a few drinks. I cannot fault this place one bit. Very good, friendly service especially from Charlie the waitress. I ordered rump steak but they had just run out so was offered an upgraded cut for no extra charge. The menu is plentiful and has something for everyone. Very good value too. All 5 of us were more than happy with our meals and will most certainly be returning

Our first visit and what a great time we had. This place is a jewel in Burnley. We stared with a selection of Tapas and went on to the Hanging Kebabs. Everything was excellent. The wine is god and well priced. Service and assistance in ordering first class. We will be retuning.

Yet another restaurant we have driven past, without realising it was even there. At first I was concerned when we pulled up outside and my wife gave me that look you don't ever want, "where on earth have you brought me".

Lovely hanging kebabs! Topped with Prosecco and Palma Violet Cocktails. Booking recommended. But if you have short legs dont go for the booths as feet dont touch the floor and legs start to ache!

Lovely staff and great food at a good price. The steak was cooked perfectly. Not many places can do a blue steak! Food was fresh and return as soon as possible.

After hearing good reviews from colleagues, decided to try illuminati for date night. It's evident that they going for something a bit different " and it was." The decor is a little quirky and industrial, but we both liked it, and it fitted in well with overall atmosphere.

My first impressions of this edgy eatery in the heart of Burnley were positive as somebody has clearly gone to a lot of effort to make this a quality venue.

When we arrived in Burnley and asked the local PCSO where he recommended to eat, he came up with MacDonalds and Subway. Luckily Tripadvisor found us Illuminati. Great atmosphere, excellent food at decent prices, and attentive service. Wouldn't have been out of place in London. Highly recommended.

Bought some discount vouchers from 2BR local radio so thought we would give it a try. What an odd place, I'm not quite sure what they wanted it to be, it's a cross between a night club and an industrial space, neither of which is ideal for a restaurant. We had pre-booked and when we arrived were given a table where the wooden seating was a slightly dubious DIY job. I'm 6ft but the seats were so high once sat down my feet were dangling and didn't reach the floor. The flimsy cushions on top were useless so it was like sitting on a very high, very hard bench. Unbelievably uncomfortable.

Had a lovely meal here tonight, great food, steak & a hanging kebab, with fries, wedges and onion rings, strawberry and marshmallow fondue. Fab food, friendly staff, nice atmosphere. Will definitely be going again

Booked our table last minute, easy to book there. Free bottle of wine on arrival, unexpected but really nice touch! How you order the food is a bit different, but good! Decided to go for tapas as there was only two of us so gave us some variety plus it's 3 dishes for £12, so reasonably priced. Wasn't too long a wait for the food, we were so impressed when it came, looked amazing but tasted amazing too! Particular highlights were the prawns mozzarella sticks and enchiladas! Really enjoyed it all, no danger of going hungry there that's for sure. Hanging kebabs that other people had ordered looked fab will be ordering those next time! Personally I'd swap the salt and pepper chicken for the meatballs and the chorizo dish you used to have on the menu, or maybe add them to the menu again but that's me being picky! The place is ever so slightly naff and won't appeal to everyone but the staff are all really friendly and helpful, couldn't do enough for us. So well priced as well, we had 6 tapas dishes fries and some alcoholic drinks, £34 it came to! Will definitely be going back, highly recommend.
