The best restaurants in Barrow-in-Furness North West

Great plant based food and great beer, shame we had to get home for the babysitter otherwise we’d have stayed here for a few extra drinks.

Today the staff were being instructed loudly about what to do. Unsettling atmosphere. Not what one wants to hear. 2 tables downstairs.

Lovely freshly battered and fried fish and good size portions. Very friendly, helpful and chatty. Felt very welcome. Thanks

We had dinner at the Railway Inn last Wednesday night, and from the minute we walked in the door we had a lovely experience. The owner, Colin, gave us a warm welcome, and he was the perfect host throughout the evening. The pub/restaurant is clean and modern, with a warm and cozy feel. The menu has a good selection of homely meals, something for everyone, all cooked by Hazel, Colin’s wife. Our meals were very tasty, my husband and I had the chicken with black pudding, and the chicken was cooked perfectly. The quantity of food was just right, and it was served at the right temperature. The whole evening was very good value for money. We had a really enjoyable night and will go back when we are next in the area.

On outside had scaffolding etc so though oh dear, when got in bar pleasently surprised, staff was chatty helpful, bar well stocked...we booked into room no hassle was clean tidy and exactly what required , shower toilet bit in small size but good, would recommend this at 75 pound that night a Saturday was good IMO

A birthday treat tonight with my hubbies and daughter and flipping heck it was good food. The buns were beautiful and the burgers just delishous. Absolutely great value for money. The icecream was amazing. Tge staff just the best. No crumbs in this house. Thank you see you again very soon

Had a takeaway. Disappointed. Rice stodgy and food bland and generic tasting. None of that authentic Chinese taste that makes you want to repeat. Wouldn't buy from here again.

Pointless trying to phone an order as they never answer the phone, rang into the hundreds of times and bo answer on any of them so a complete waste of time.

This is a popular lunch spot for us food is usually good & well presented & today was no exception but we feel the drinks let them down we had a flat white & an americano both of which we felt were very weak so for our second drink we ordered a pot of tea for 2 which contained only one teabag & no extra hot water this cost £5-50 which we thought was extortionate I told them when we paid our bill & she said we should have had 2 teabags & offered to refund but then didn't

This is the best Chinese food we have tasted . The food is well cooked ,presentable, lots of flavour and never dissapoints. We have had a number of take aways from here and we will be ordering again tomorrow 6/04/2024 for our evening meal. Repeat custom says it all. We Highly recommend .

Me encanta pedir mis comidas para llevar del Yungnien, tienen un menú para todos los gustos, ordenar es muy fácil y Jean te ayudará a hacer tus elecciones y te recomendará una comida que sabe que te encantará, muy recomendable.

Normalmente no dejo críticas negativas como no me gusta, pero esta vez lo sentí necesario. Los chips de sal y pimienta eran simplemente chips secos que parecían recalentados, nada más. La salsa de curry no tenía sabor y los chow mein eran solo fideos con carne barata. También encontré un pelo grande en mi comida que cerró el espectáculo para mí. No entiendo las críticas positivas, ya que fue una gran pérdida de dinero y las escribo para evitar que la gente desperdicie el dinero que tanto les costó ganar.

Una visita obligada para todo aquel que le guste la buena comida y un ambiente agradable. La comida siempre es deliciosa. Comida vegetariana y vegana aunque genial para cualquiera.

Lovely wee pub. We stopped in whilst in the area briefly. Very warm inside and we received a very warm friendly welcome by the regulars who were very nice to us and our dogs
