This cafe has no Gluten Free not even the ubiquitous brownie, I quote " we don't do gluten free". I had a latte which was thin and tasteless, I didn't even drink half of it, it wasn't cheap at £3.20.

Visited alot and never been let down the soup platter is absolutely delicious definitely visit more often best lunch place in barrow 😋

A wonderful find. Traditional table service. Friendly, polite and efficient female staff. Pleasant decor, interior was very clean We were seated and our food arrived hot with very little delay. Wonderful food, clearly a very professional kitchen behind the scenes…great to see it has 5 star rating too. Nothing was too much trouble. Definitely will return to this gem of a place again. I would highly recommend this cafe, worth a visit for sure A* across the board….a new favourite for me

Visitamos esta mañana y pedimos dos tostadas de pollo, brie y arándano, que sonaban encantadoras. También pedimos una taza de café recién molido y una taza de té que llegó a 16. 50 Esperamos media hora para la comida, pero nos decepcionó mucho descubrir que nos dieron tostadas de tocino, brie y arándano en su lugar. Lamentablemente, no pudimos llamar la atención de un miembro del personal para quejarnos y, para ser sincero, no pudimos esperar 30 minutos más para que las tostadas que habíamos ordenado llegaran nuevamente ya que teníamos una cita. Cuando llegamos a pagar, el miembro del personal preguntó qué habíamos pedido, mencioné lo que habíamos pedido y lo que habíamos recibido. El miembro del personal me miró y dijo 16. 50, ninguna mención de una disculpa o cualquier otra comunicación. Hemos estado regularmente para almuerzos a lo largo de los años y es la primera vez que estoy decepcionado con la comida y el personal.

Mi hijo y yo hemos almorzado aquí varias veces. La sopa siempre es deliciosa, al igual que los sándwiches tostados, los sándwiches y las papas de chaqueta, todos ingredientes de buena calidad. Siempre está ocupado, lo que muestra cuán popular es. El personal siempre es amable y educado. También sirven comida para llevar. A menudo obtengo un buen sándwich de jamón y chutney en pan de granero para el almuerzo y la calidad del jamón y el pan es excelente, además de que obtienes patatas fritas para acompañar. Los bollos son caseros y deliciosos. Fácilmente uno de los mejores cafés de la zona.

My favourite cafe in Barrow-in-Furness, the staff are really friendly and there is a lot of food options to choose from no matter what your mood. The coffee and the scrumptious home made ginger bread are so tasty!

My friend and I tend to call here for lunch once a month or so. Good service. We generally go for the soup & sandwich combo & its always lovely. A great little cafe.

We had lunch here during a shopping trip to Barrow. Pleasantly surprised by the quality, portion sizes and prices. Good, wholesome grub.

Called in for a coffee and a Tea Cake. The Decaf coffee has a weird taste to it, it’s not a patch on their old coffee. Tea cake was lovely though.

Each time we visit Barrow this is the place we prefer to go. Small little cafe and sometimes queuing outside,but once in its cozy and a friendly atmosphere. Can’t beat the soup and half sandwich. Always tasty and well presented! Great value for money.

Nice cafe to go to in Barrow town centre, always busy with a cosy atmosphere. Tasty home made soups. Lovely place to go for a brew and a teacake in the morning.

Been a few times now, food is always really nice!! Not many seats but its not been a problem getting in yet for me. Soup and a sandwich is my 'go-to' choice.

My son and i have had lunch here a few times. The soup is always delicious as are the toasted sandwiches and jacket potatoes - all nice quality ingredients. It is always busy which shows how popular it is. The staff are always nice and polite too.

We arrived here Saturday after two pm. we were delighted to be seated immediately . This small cafe never disappoints , my partner also never disappoints !! He always orders coronation chicken sandwich with a cappchino . The cafe never disappoints because it's always spot on , from the first bite to the last . The coffee here is fragrant and hot , the service cheerful and attentive . Looking forward to the next time . Thankyou

I have been here several times. I have had their soups, their sandwiches and an occasional dessert. Everything has been top knotch. The food is always delicious, the staff is always friendly and the place is always full. Its a great place for lunch.

This is such a lovely high class cafe/tearooms! Excellent service every visit, excellent high quality food and lovely relaxed atmosphere. Definately worth a visit! Lots of specials that change regularly. Never fails to make a lovely lunch time stop. 5*

You have to get the time right here to get s seat . Just before lunch , or just after . Such a popular place . Fabulous fresh sandwiches , soup to die for . Fragrant hot coffee , excellent service . So was surprised on leaving , turning left up the alley to reach Cavendish street ,to see litter at the back door badly packed and spread amongst the alley . Not a good impression , but easily rectified . Double bag .tidy away and sweep your area .!! First impressions , and last impressions , important . !!!

Llegamos aquí el sábado para un almuerzo ligero antes de l h_ es una pequeña cafetería, así que la gente a menudo espera en el hall para una mesa. Hoy nos pide una pareja en una mesa de cuatro que me importa compartir. Aromático y de resistencia hot_la comida es de buena calidad y sabrosa. Relleno encantadora en el sándwiches y el pan tan fresco que casi se deshace en la boca_home_deliciosa sopa_hizo la quebradiza delicioso es fresco, crujiente y ligero. __ gracias.

Por casualidad pasó por quería calentar, después el sol, ambiente agradable y muy acogedor, el personal café eran un 1 no podía hacer lo suficiente

Siempre tienen comida en la cafetería, pero pueden llegar a tan concurrido como es tan bueno. Personalmente me encantan las hamburguesas.

Visited here today with my Sister and what a lovely little place this is, we were given menus straight away we opted for the Soup & Sandwich deal, and Milky Coffees, The Soup was Broccoli & Stilton and it was the tastiest i have had in a long time, Sandwich was Tuna Savoury and thats was lovely too, Gorgeously presented with a little Salad, Coleslaw & Crisps and a little portion of bread, Certainly enough to fill you up, Will definitely be back :)

Sampled a toastie my first visit. This time the soup and sandwich. Big portion. All very fresh. Amazing bread. Wish I knew where they buy it from. Gonna try a jacket potato next visit. Lovely waitress. Really polite and friendly. Unsure of her name. (Short hair)

Used to be a great little cafe to meet and have a snack at reasonable prices. However over the past while prices have crept up and not at all cheap now. Food is good and freshly prepared. Nice soups. nearly always full so hard to get in as it is quite small.

Regular customer of the Fig Tree last year and it is usually busy lunch time. It's not a huge cafe but has about 7 or 8 tables, some for two, some for four people. Lots of choice on the menu from toasties and soup and sandwiches, cakes etc. Quality and freshness of the food is very good and I can highly recommend the vegetable soup and toasties. You can often find people queuing in the communal entrance to the neighbouring business and don't be offended if you are asked if someone asks to share your table if it's busy. My daughter came back from there yesterday really surprised that someone wanted to share the table with her! One of the best cafes in town, in my humble opinion.

We like to have dinner here when we pop into Barrow. It's always best to try and get a table before dinner time as it gets packed very quickly and you may have to wait. Service is very quick, we normally have the homemade soup and sandwiches, which are very filling and good value.

I try and eat in this café every time I am in the area but sometime I am unsuccessful as it is a very busy little place. every time I do get in I am never dissatisfied the food and the staff are brilliant , all in all a lovely little place,

We have used this little café for quite some time and after trying others nearby we always return. The food is all freshly made and of a good quality. Service is efficient and friendly. The toilet is upstairs which could be a problem for some, but I would definitely recommend you try The Fig Tree
